It’s so central and near to all amenities, if it’s for socialising or shopping , such a nice quaint old hotel and full of character, would recommend it.

Loved it. Always do. It's ambiance. New but keeping with the original furniture and layout. Clean, lovely food and drinks. Great atmosphere too. Will definitely return.

A very nice hotel. Good location in the centre of town . Nice, well equipped rooms and nice breakfast.

Love the fact that it’s a good “old fashioned” hotel and nothing like the typical chain hotels. The main staircase and lounge area are stunning. Really makes you feel that you are somewhere special. Would definitely book there any time I am in Inverness.

Stuck in Inverness as ferries to islands cancelled!”
Got a decent last minute deal considering the ferries were cancelled and it was during school holidays. However, nowhere to park so had to keep feeding the pay and display until it became free. Also was told by receptionist on booking in that breakfast included. Went down at 7am to be told we didn’t have a breakfast booked at all and would have to pay for one. Not happy at all after a long and stressful trip to have this happen at the end of it. Hotel is clean and good location but rooms could do with a bit of modernisation

Great location and good for the money. Just don’t stay near the elevator!”
We stayed the first and last nights of our trip because we flew in and out of Inverness. The first night we were on the second floor near the elevator which made an obnoxious high pitched noise all night. Also the water pressure was terrible and we couldn’t figure out why the toilet wouldn’t flush (something to do with water pressure I’m assuming). The second night was much better. We were on the first floor not near the elevator and we slept amazingly. Water pressure was normal too. Both times tho breakfast was absolutely amazing! Worth it just for that!

Unclean bed and room ”
The bed was rather unclean with small hairs left on the bed sheets. Holes in the pillow cases and the duvet. Very old bed sheets that turned yellowish white and rough as cardboard. Staff weren’t very nice and did not listen to my complaint about the room being a twin instead of a double. Told me that they can’t do anything for me. I was staying just one night and even offered to pay for an upgrade if I can get a double bed for my wife and me. Very unpleasant!

Excellent the staff friendly. Wifi is iffy and only works well in lobby.”
Location next to the train station and within blocks of the bus station is excellent. Rooms are well appointed and spacious. But we found that the wifi only worked well in the lobby and was problematic on rooms and dining area.

A bit slow at the bar for service. Basically ignored for ten minutes while standing there. The bartender seemed a bit annoyed. The street sounds for loud. But the location was excellent and the rooms were nice.

Car parking is the issue - hotel to work on this to ensure that customer should get dedicated car park
Reviewed September 02, 2018
thank you for your comments. as an historical former railway hotel of over 150+ years our central location next to train station does limit our car parking spaces and we have approx 9 in front of hotel and there are pay & display opposite. We do however have an agreement with adjacent secure underground car park £5 from 3pm till 11am for our guests.

Beautiful hotel in excellent location.”
Completely loved this hotel. Front desk staff was very helpful, the room was very clean, amenities were the best I have seen at a hotel, and the location could not be beat. I arrived via train, which was literally right next door, but the hotel was so quiet you would not have known you were so close. 5 minutes walk from the river and the sights. Wonderful place to stay for a few nights.

Excellent heritage hotel”
We chose this hotel for its proximity to the train station next door, as we arrived late and didn't want to travel far to the hotel. We were highly impressed by the beautiful architecture of this heritage hotel and the lobby was well-adorned. We had booked a twin room and were pleasantly surprised to find out that it was very large. The room was generally clean as well. The furnishings were well maintained and the beds were comfortable, with extra pillows and covers stored in the wardrobe. The staff were warm and friendly and did not hesitate to help us whenever we had questions. Overall we had a very good stay and would definitely stay here again should we come back to Inverness.

Love the hotel. Staff was accomodating. On-site parking available. Central area, room was great except that there was no AC and the water heater was just on fire even if you set in the coldest setting possible.
