Location, Location, Location ”
Not cheap, but good quality and a one off experience, go on, spoil yourself....
Beautiful hotel delicious breakfast”
Hotel is lovely! Very elegant and clean! Staff are very friendly and the breakfast buffet was delicious! But at 600 USD a night i feel it still wasn’t worth the hefty price tag
Terrible customer service”
The price of the hotel is super expensive compare with the facilities, attention, plans and food that they offer. I’d very disappointed that Anantara name have a very bad hotel in that amazing location our stay there was very annoying the most part of the time. The food was horrible and the plans and information was more than insufficient.
Very friendly and helpful staff”
Ruth and Racheal offered superb services. The only downside is that two single beds are joined together to form a queen bed. This makes the middle uncomfortable
Excellent location if visiting Victoria Falls”
Stayed here because of the direct access to the Falls. Nice room but nothing more special than other hotels we stayed at during our tour of South Africa. Had to contact reception as the mini bar was locked, and then had to contact them again as the contents hadn't been replaced as per the menu , not what you expect from 5 star hotel. You stay here because you want to be right by the Falls. The grounds with animals wandering past are beautiful.
Crocos and Hippos on your backyard”
To stay at Rolhal Livingstone Hotel is a must if you are interested in Victoria Falls. You have the Fall. Crocos. Hippos and many others on your backyard. Zebras walking around in the garden as a perfect grass cutting machines and many other anival if not inside the electrical fens well outside. Your room facing Zambezi a few hundred meters from the top of the fall. An easy walk and you can see one of the Worlds most interesting sites. There is probably many other way to watch the fall and the sorunding You stay in style that is for sure. Roland o Monica from Sweden
Lovin the Livingstone”
The best thing about this place is the giraffe and zebra that roam the grounds! Deluxe rooms are basic but very comfortable with pleasant river views within ear shot of the grunting hippos. Dinner menu was limited and the meal quality was OK, but uninspiring . Breakfast buffet was very good, although you can only order your eggs with the table waiter, and our order never came. Overall very pleasant experience, and good location to venture to the Devils pools.
Drinks by the Zambezi, and a walk to Victoria falls!
Stunning location and mixed staff performance”
Edward, the greeter, was fantastic. If all staff had his attitude, my rating would be different. He listened. He took initiative. He had ownership of providing guests with service. Asked to have a room midway down the row. Far enough to be away from the noise but not too far to walk as my wife has limited mobility. We were given a room almost at the end, which meant that we had to rely on staff with gocarts. Supposedly they would come in 5 min. We found it was often 15 and many times had to call again. Wife asked for extra facecloths. 15 min later. no cloths. Called again. 15 min later no facecloths. Called and asked for manager. Cloths showed up. Left a small LED flashlight on dinner table. Knew the name of our waiter. Realized it, asked the morning manager to contact him to see if he found it. No response. In the evening, saw that he was there, serving another area. Asked our waiter to ask him to come over so we could ask about the flashlight. Nothing. Asked a second time. Nothing. Paid about $600/night and received far better service and meals at South African hotels/resorts at half that price. Location provides a captive audience. Is too bad. The building complex is lovely with wonderful tradition.
Our stay at the Royal Livingstone was pure luxury - the hotel is beautiful and is beautifully located alongside the Zambezi River. Each morning we were treated to some zebra right outside our room. The shuttle service takes you to the Falls, which is located 5 minutes (walking) from the hotel. In spite of the wonderful stay, the food wasn't 5 star at all, and I could get better from a local restaurant. I sent my food back twice, and neither of us were impressed with the offering. That said, I would definitely stay at the Royal Livingstone again for the luxury, beauty and service.
Good service - location and scenery ”
I really enjoyed my stay at the Royal Livingstone. The service was good, the location was great and the staff were fantastic.
Standards have slipped in the last few years”
Service was truly shoddy for such an expensive hotel Had to ask for anything numerous times Very disappointing
Great stay! We really enjoyed it!
Three night stay at the Royal Livingstone ”
Absolutely wonderful. It is one of the most amazingly beautifully located hotels in the world with access to the Falls on your doorstep.
Royal Livingstone Stay”
The hotel was located ar an ideal location. The service was great and we loved the spa
Fantastic staff. Incredible location and service”
Most of the staff was good or excellent”
We had a luxury room at about $700/night. The room was small but adequate. We had a "bug" problem and when you pay $700/night you expect this not to be an issue. The breakfast was wonderful and was included in the room rate with excellent service. Lunch and Dinner were charged separately, they were good but pricey in comparison to the cheaper alternative in Livingstone where the food quality was questionable. They had an activities desk which we took advantage of... and I recommend the "micro-light" flight around the Victoria Falls, it was expensive but worth it.
