A true sample of excellent hospitality!”
Enaka Asakusa is without a doubt one of the best hostels I have been to. Excellent service, helpful and friendly staff, clean rooms, great location! I will surely stay here the next time I visit Tokyo. 5 things about Enaka Asakusa: 1. Located near the busy area of Asakusa. A short walk from the world famous Sensoji Temple. 2. Guest are provided with slippers. Shoes are left on the first floor lockers. 3. You are expected to clean up after yourselves. 4. Taking calls and playing loud music inside the room is prohibited. Calls should be made in designated areas or in the common room. 5. They serve Halal ramen - by Samurai Ramen.
Simply the Best!”
I have never written a review of any place I've stayed before, but I've made an exception just for this one place: The owner and staff were just too nice to not do it! I ended up staying almost 3 months in this hostel. I've stayed at many places, even in Tokyo - this was by far the Best. Advantages: Great value for money, newly built, renovated and clean! Good facilities with common kitchen so you can cook your own food if you're conscious about not spending too much eating out at restaurants all the time. Best of all I think is the common space at Enaka if you want to hang out and connect with other guests. The location in Asakusa is nice and serene in a more "traditional" area of Tokyo. Access to other popular areas such as Akihabara, Shibuya and Roppongi via metro. But the brightest 5 stars of this hostel goes to all the staff who are simply too friendly, helpful and cute in every way! I ended up staying three months in this hostel, as I am looking to relocate to Tokyo, and both the owner and staff have helped me beyond measures to assist me in both translating Japanese and finding apartments and so on! Some of them are good friends now! I can strongly recommend anyone to stay in this hostel when visiting Tokyo! I give it 5 stars! 10 out of 10! Excellent!
This is my best stay, yet is was also the cheapest, during my trip and Japan. I only planned to stay there during my last night because I had previously made another booking elsewhere during my time in Tokyo. However, I decided to stay 2 nights there eventually. Initially, I made a wrong booking, which mean I had to pay at the hostel instead of paying through my credit card online. I went over to the hostel to ask if they could help me with cancelling the order and they kindly helped me with it. Hence, I booked another 2 nights using another payment option, without having to pay forfeit for the wrong booking I had made. The staffs were very helpful and friendly. They were very nice to response to whatever queries I had. Their English were relatively good too. The hostel is located pretty near to the metro station of Asakusa, ginza line, exit 6 or exit 1. It is very near to the touristy place, sensoji temple, etc. It was always very crowded once you are out of the hostel. I think this makes it a really good place for those who are new to Japan and want to visit the touristy places. The hostel has almost everything. It has an elevator which is going to be really helpful for whoever that has a lot of luggage. The bed to ceiling height of the dormitory bed was high enough. I felt that the bed was spacious and comfortable. Locker was provided inside the dormitory bed. We even had a chain to hock our luggage, and have them locked up inside the room. Towel was provided, and you could change it everyday. Toilet was clean, with toiletries provided. I did not really utilise the pantry, but I visited the pantry once and I find that it has everything. They have a few vending machine, a fridge, etc. It looks comfortable. All in all, this is definitely a good place for me to stay and I will definitely return when I am back in Tokyo again. The staffs were friendly, clean place, value for money, and good location. I will consider myself to be a person with high standard,
Awesome place! Perfect for solo travelers.”
The owner and the staffs are very nice and friendly. The place is strategically located near Asakusa station around 5 minutes walking distance with many attractions like Kaminarimon, Sensoji temple, shopping streets and arcades as well as Don Quijote available just nearby the place. A few convenience stores and a lot of restaurants located nearby the hostel. It is a hostel/capsule style accommodation but has hotel standard of facilities/features. Very new, nice and clean bathroom, comfortable beddings and you can have all the privacy you need in your capsule. They have an individual chain to lock your luggage and also locker for your shoes. The building has a very modern new design and they maximize the use of space wisely. The design is very well thought and organized. Bonus rooftop with beautiful view of Asakusa and SkyTree is also available! The pantry/kitchen is a bit small but very functional. There's a huge table at the lounge area for dining and socializing. On the day of my arrival, I was looking for microwave to heat my food but I found out there was no microwave available. I asked the owner to provide it as it's essential for travelers like me, and the next day it was there! Overall, it was an awesome place to stay in Tokyo. I even stayed in one whole day when I was there. Totally recommend this especially for solo travelers.
the great location”
I really like stayed in Enaka, i booked for 4 night and extend 2 more days in this hostel. Because location was great, in the center asakusa area, close to asakusa station for subway asakusa and ginza line, skytree express and tsuba express asakusa. U can find a lot of shop, restaurant and convenience store. The room was quite, clean and very comfortable for solo traveller. they have space for keep the big suitcase as well and lock for security our suitcase. They have separate shower and toilet. They provide body wash, shampoo, face cleanse and hairdyer. In sixth floor they have japanese bath tubh , i tried it and very good for realese sore foot after walked all day. In lobby area we can relax and eat. they are provide kitchenette, refrigerator to keep our food and vending machine. I really recommend this hostel for someone looking for budget hostel.
Best capsule-style hostel in the area!”
This place is in a great location, a really clean and comfortable place to stay, and was a good deal even during Golden Week holidays. Seconds away from Sensoji and maybe a 3 minute walk from the Asakusa subway stations, the place is pretty convenient, and it had all the extra amenities I expect in a hostel (laundry rooms, kitchen). The capsules were also pretty nice, with enough space to sit up or kneel without bumping your head, and a little fold-out table. There was even a pretty big locker right inside, along with a bike lock type setup to keep suitcases safe. I’d definitely recommend the place to anyone looking for a capsule-style hostel in Asakusa!
Thank you for your staying and evaluation! We reviewed entire parts of us!!! Thank you so much! We are very happy that you could stay here with us conformable! We hope to see you soon again. Enaka Asakusa Central Hostel (Samurai Hostel Asakusa) Staff AN
Enaka Asakusa was a really clean hostel with great service, and it was really close to everything around Asakusa :D It's at a very convenient location which is close to the main Asakusa Train Station. There's also space in the bunk for you to hang towels/jackets, and a small foldable table, for anyone that needs to use their laptops or work. It was a great quiet environment as well. Although the bathrooms and washrooms are directly connected to the bunk room, strict rules indicate reasonable times when the showers cannot be used, which I thought was nice (even though I sometimes like taking late night/early morning showers). It was also great that you had to swap out your shoes for slippers. It felt really clean was a really comfortable stay. Would definitely stay again.
At first I didnt know what to expect. But the hostel is super clean. The beds are comfy. The water pressure is great. The capsule rooms are quite big for capsules. The staff is super nice and very accommodating. Its really easy to find and close to the metro. I came back there 3 times! The only - : as this is a capsule hostel dont forget your earplugs! For those who wish to visit Tokyo, Asakusa isnt in the center but a very nice neighbourhood anyway!
Best moment in Tokyo, peaceful place to stay”
My very first time in Tokyo, I stayed at Enaka Asakusa Central Hostel for 3 nights, at 6 floor and I really love the atmosphere of the hostel. The location is awesome where is near to Sensoji Temple, just 100 meter and near Asakusa subway as well. I wish I will stay there again and I will recommend this hostel to my friends.
This is the guesthouse that i would recommend to all the solo traveler. This is the best hostel I've ever stayed in Tokyo. It's not my first time, I stayed here every time i go Tokyo. The location is so strategic that you could find a lot of eateries, sights, and many traditional and cultural stuff. It is so close to Asakusa Station (4 minutes walk to Ginza line). The staff were friendly. The place is clean and room structure is comfy.
Hidden Jem ”
I really enjoyed my stay in this place. The pod was bigger than I think and it has comfortable mattress. The place was really clean and well maintained. For someone who relies on other people’s review when deciding when to stay, the reviews were pretty accurate. It’s close to Asakusa Shrine so my first day list was easily ticked off. I guess what works is that people who stay here really follow the rules of the hostel so it has been comfortable for everyone. I recommend staying in this place for those looking for a decent and budget friendly hostel.
Great location. 2min to sensoji temple. Convenient. ”
It was safe to walk around the Asakusa area even at night. Location was great. Connected by the Toei Asakusa line and Ginza line. Halal food is available around. The eatery at the hostel was closed during my entire stay. Cleanliness was tops! I stayed for 5nights and they cleaned my capsule after the 3rd night. Will definitely stay at Enaka again when i come Tokyo next time.
Thank you for your staying and evaluation! We are very happy to hear especially "cleanliness was top!". We are actually trying to improve the aspect for Muslim people can stay more comfortable lately. So the next time if you could visit us again, we hope you will experience better staying here! Decent place if”
Upper bunk bed is quite uncomfortable. It was hard to get on and get off, and the stair handle made my hands hurt. Bathroom had two hair dryer which one broke and the other often sparks a bit lights which might be fire hazard? Its also at a weird location and also called "Samurai Hostel" at the same time? Super confusing.
Very good deal for its price”
This is my first time to use a sharing hostel. Enaka Asakusa Central Hostel was clean, private, very modern and is near Asakusa major spots. I like their safety privacy utilities which include a safety locker near the bed and space and locks for attaching bigger passages. Aside from slightly humid air, the bed and curtains are comfortable, with clean sheets. This is definitely a great option for me if I ever decide to stay in a capsule hostel again.
The location's great, close to Nakamise Shopping District and the famed Kaminarimon gate (incl. Sensoji temple and Asakusa shrine), so one can choose to have a walking tour around the area anytime. Love the lobby setup, especially the samurai battle outfit up front. One thing though, the slippers provided were too huge. I'm a size 5 or 5.5 and I think the pair of slippers was a 9 or a 10. My feet kept on slipping or that, I have to focus more than I should on walking properly less I stumble. I understand that it's a free size to accommodate everyone, but if there's any way we could choose from different sizes, that would be better. Also, I'm not too sure about the cleanliness. On my second night, my arms and legs started feeling itchy that I turned on my bed a few times than necessary. I poured alcohol to lessen the itchiness. It was'nt that bad the following nights though. Overall, still enjoyed the experience.
I'll book Enaka again on my next visit to Japan. It is 2 minute walking distance to shops, restaurants and asakusa pagoda. The attendant staff communicate very well in english, friendly and accomodating to our requests sich as helping us book our tour to mt fuji and allowed us to leave our luggages at the lobby of the hostel while waiting for the check-in time and few hours after our check-out while roaming around asakusa for last minute pasalubongs. The capsule room is very clean, as well as the common shower and toilets.
comfortable to travel”
I stay this hostel on 12-19 Aug total 6 night. staff can speak English and China and very very nice. location is easy to travel it near Starbucks and Don Quijote Asakusa branch. for bed room and Bath room is clean and private has looker. if you looking for hostel in japan "Enaka Asakusa Central Hostel" is the best choice for you.
Nice location, nice stuff, nice experience ”
It's just 2 minutes walk from the hostel to the Asakusa Tempel. There are many traditional Japanese restaurant next to it. It's also very convenient to take the metro Ginza line and asakusa line. We live in a big room which contains about 30 capsules ( very special living style). But because of that the sound insulation is not good. I can clearly hear my neighbor. Even she just turned in her sleep. But overall, it should be recommended.
Location 1. Place was easy to find and is located near lots of shops/restaurants and the temple 2. Located near the Asakusa station under the Ginza line which is very convenient 3. If you have lots of luggage, you can always use the elevator in the station 4. Roof deck has a beautiful view of the SkyTree! Go there during the night! Hostel in general 1. Very cozy ambiance 2. Staff are very friendly 3. Check-in time is really at 4pm. We arrived at the place around 11 am and we just left our luggage on the reception area. 4. Check-out time is really at 10am. Same with before, we left our luggage at the reception area and just got it back when it’s time for us to leave for the airport. Mixed Dormitory area (6F) – Bed 1. Since this is a dormitory/capsule/bunk-bed type of accommodation, you would need to be quiet during night time since other guests would already be sleeping early. 2. Dormitory has two parts – When you enter, you’ll already see the bunk beds and when you turn left, you’ll see the individual capsule-type beds 3. Bed mattress is okay. Not that soft, not that hard 4. Comforter texture is noisy – it’ll make a sound every time you move so you have to be mindful of others when guests are already sleeping. 5. Luggage chain for each guest is in front of each single bed. Mixed Dormitory area (6F) – Shower/Washroom/Toilet 1. In general, shared toilet/washroom for all -- only has 1 toilet room for girls, and 2 for boys; this is in front of the bunk-bed area 2. Shower is located near the single capsule type beds – Does not have any hooks for towels or clothes but they do provide a basket for your things. 3. Only shower/conditioner and body gel is provided on the shower area. 4. Water pressure is okay. 5. For the washroom area, don’t use the dryers (hand and hair) at night since it’s too loud. Again, try to be mindful of others. Others 1. Wifi signal is strong on the common area in the first floor and very weak or none at all when you’re already inside your capsul
Value for money & good location”
Got a great deal through agoda compared to other booking platform. the location is good, near to asakusa metro, nakamise street and sensoji temple. halal restaurant is nearby like naritaya and sekai cafe. Also not far from don quijote for shopping. the hostel has a very nice ambiance and the staff is very friendly to. good for solo traveler and would definitely stay here again for my next trip.
