Room was too small to be classed as suite. Fold out sofabed provided extra sleeping space but quilt provided was too small. Cranberry juice provided at breakfast made 2 of my party physically sick.

Location ok, but an older house at a noisy street”
The Academy is located in an older house - all stairs are aching / interior is old and used. It's directly at a busy street (with several busses) and rooms are facing the street, so it's kinda noisy. Busses and tubes are easily reachable and you need about 20 minutes to the theaters.

The hotel is in great location and has its own charm. The bed is very comfy, bathroom is very clean. I wish the staff could be more welcoming, show us a bit more inside, the garden looks amazing on the website, but we didn't get to see it at all. Rooms on the street side are disappointing, you can't open the window, it could get really stuffy and warm. So book the room facing the garden, it will make your stay much better.

            Nice typical Georgean hotel ”
Located in Bloomsbury in walking distans of Soho, West End and British Museum. Nicely furnished suite good for three persons with marble bathroom. Breakfast to expensive though, ate on pubs and cafés instead. Deposition of £100 that could take "up to five workingdays" to get back. Not acceptable. But a nice little hotel and good value for money over all.

a nice corner hotel pretty good place”
it's nice and really feels like a home like hotel, it has pretty small rooms so if that's an issue I guess you have a problem but who comes to London to be in the room ? it has some nice breakfast and I really felt like a British gentleman when I got there. it's very good place to go ! I highly advice it.

            Good price & quality ratio”
It's hard to find this price in the center of London. It's good location if you travel by bus. We are a couple with 1.6 yrs children and rely on bus travelling (the bus stop is just in front of the hotel) Only one minus point is no elevator, our room is on the top floor, which is very difficult to bring the child trolley & our luggage. Apart from this, there is nothing else. This area is a university area, so you find a lively student coming at night party and remind us the univerty time.

Easy and convenient, not luxury, like Fawlty Towers”
The hotel room would've been a decent size if it was just for two but this was pitched as a family room. The kids shared a pull out sofa bed which took most of the available floor space and couldn't be packed up unless you wanted to make the bed every night. The location was AMAZING within walking distance of everything. We walked everywhere except to and from the airport, but that was a super cheap taxi ride too. The staff were professional but booked us in and then we never saw them again. Every morning we were woken at around 7am when someone burnt the toast in the dining room and the fire alarm went off. Every day of our 5 day stay. The staff were barely apologetic about it, then the Wi-Fi involved a wad of paper as the code ran out after MBS or time. Both ran out every 30mins or so which was really annoying to time out and re enter it all. I'd read a review that described the hotel like fawlty towers and it really felt like that! Manuel was definitely in charge of the toaster.

            A little outdated”
As with many London hotels, this hotel is a little outdated. The WiFi is slow and capped to a single device using the old fashioned browser log on technique so would not work with my radio. There is also a very low daily data limit, useless for streaming. We paid for breakfast when we booked but were told that it only covered a continental and a full English was an extra £15 per head! We witnesses several guests surprise at that unusual hidden cost. The tea that was served at breakfast was loose leaf, which is fine, but only if they put enough tea in for the size of the pot! Even after brewing for 10 minutes the tea was terribly weak, classic style over substance! Other than that, the hotel was fine, the staff were very polite, the rooms were comfortable and clean. It's a typical 4 star hotel, they just need to fix the internet and not skimp on breakfast! We will go again because the location is so convenient, it'll be interesting to see if they improve.
