    Give this hotel a try...”
I was upgraded on check-in to a suite, which was out of this World. In the morning, I was treated to complimentary breakfast, with it being fresh, good quality and great variety. The hotel is very close to Warren Street tube and in a nice part of London. There are also a small selection of restaurants and traditional pub nearby. The only negative is that the decor and lifts need updating but for the price and things mentioned above, I easily saw past this.

    Huge disappointment ”
My room was on the lower ground floor. The whole corridor had an awful smell of damp and the room was over furnished (cluttered) and very dated and tatty. (Dark peeling wallpaper etc.). The mattress was too big for the bed frame so hung over at the edges and I felt the need to clean the bath before using it.

Absolutely shocking possible fraudulent activity ”
From start to finished this has to be my worst ever experience of a hotel. Once arrived told no rooms available and shipped off to a 1 star sister hotel. Service shocking receptionist wrote down credit card numbers on note pad and read them to another contact. People complaining of being double charged. Stains all over bed / walls sockets and Electrics exposed

Good interior design / diabolical service ”
I booked a suite in this hotel for my partner and I. At check in they tried to put me in a standard room. After I told him about my reservation for a suite he histated and said I have a good room for you so which again was not a suite as advertised on their website (2 floor room) I politely complained about this as I clearly was not given the room I paid for. The answer I got was “the other rooms are occupied” When I asked to speak to a manager, a young man came to reception to explain that those are the only suites they have which was a deception to what is being advertised on Agoda and on the colonnade hotel website. Another man that worked there told me it’s either I take that room or cancel and go else where! If I hadn’t travelled far that would’ve, they also tried to make me pay for breakfast which they added as complimentary for the inconvenience caused with the booking. The poorest service I’ve ever seen in my many stays in hotel all around the world

    Avoid”
I find it very hard to have anything positive to say about this hotel except for the fact that the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The rooms are tired, the soft furnishings and carpets are dirty, there are no plug points next to the bed, there is an empty fridge in the room and no minibar, there is a bath with a shower in it and no walk-in shower and the bathroom has fittings that date from 30 years ago. The bed has the lumpiest, most uncomfortable mattress I have slept on in the last two decades. The building, the staff says, has the oldest lift in London. That's the only positive thing you can say about the lift (elevator for the American folk reading this review). I definitely would not give this hotel 4 stars. Even 3 would be a push.

Extremely shabby and not very clean. ”
Not nearly as nice as looked in picture. Great location in lovely neighbourhood but bedroom was like a dungeon in the basement. Very shabby, terrible shower, surly receptionist, appalling bed that felt like sleeping on a marshmallow! Room did not smell very clean- musty smell. No natural light. Will never stay there again. Building looks beautiful from the outside but a dive inside. I can see now why it was such a good price given the expensive neighbourhood. Couldn’t wait to leave. It needs a serious revamp.

Stunning staff and a great location ”
This is a gem in a wonderful location. The staff go out of their way to ensure that all needs are met and are charming. The full English Breakfast is lovely with great coffee options and the dining room is chic and modern; in contrast to the old world elegance of the rest of the hotel and rooms. Visible from the tube entrance and only a stumble from Little Venice, this place deserves to be discovered!

I like the Colonnade a lot, but its not for everyone”
The Colonnade is an old place, and it shows, e.g. rooms and hallways could use some paint, drains can be slow, and there are none of the "luxury" bathroom amenities you find in more modern properties. BUT, I love the location/neighborhood, the junior suites I have stayed in have a lot of charm - high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, canopy bed. The coffee shops/pub/ restaurant/ concenience store right around the corner compensate for any shortcomings the hotel's restaurant (which I have never tried) might have..

Room was falling apart. It was in bottom of hotel you could feel the underground subway constantly shaking the room every 2-5 mins the plaster on the walls were cracking because of it. The bed was horrible springs were sprung and there were flat spots in the bed.

    Such a shame”
This has always been my hotel of choice when travelling to London with work or, for pleasure however, may now need to reconsider this. The hotel has changed for the worse since it's new owners have taken over, poles apart from the previous ones. The current staff don't demonstrate any element of customer service and can't even manage a smile at best! Trip Adviser '8.2' displayed on their front desk is from 2016 and yes, well deserved in 2016!, today however 2.8 is far more realistic

    Expectations meet but”
I'd been waiting a long time to book at room at the The Colonnade so our wedding anniversary was the perfect reason to book a room. K so room booked show booked ect. My findings below. The Hotel? The Colonnade was as expected in photos and reviews. The staff seem very attentive and seemed to be professional.  When we arrived late check in was treated with respect as expected.  Was shame to see no bell boy or assistance with luggage as the lift in the hotel is outdated and very difficult to operate with titanic style door rail.  The steps up to the hotel also seem hard to get luggage up which was disappointing to see no ramp for luggage or disabled people.  The Room? As expected with a difference! Personally this room was a good size as a double however was clearly a single room as the bed only had enough room for one side unit and lamp with no plug sockets. It's a shame because if the bed was moved around to other side of the room may look more of an attempt to make a double.

A dirty room with a broken and delapidated mattress. We couldn’t sleep properly because it was so uncomfortable. We complained to the duty member of staff who assured us that the manager would be in touch. This has not happened.

    A HOTEL WITH CHARM”
This hotel was a real surprise. It was a period property that had been updated to a high standard whilst retaining its original character. Close to the MRT only a few minutes walk and well connected to the centre of London. Some really nice restaurants including a French restaurant was located just around the corner. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast whilst limited was good. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a quieter location yet convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

    Far below my expectation”
The price is not cheap at all, I thought that will be fine since the hotel looks really nice on web. In fact, the hotel do look nice, only a bit old fashioned. I kind of like the old times atmosphere, but when find out that it's REALLY a OLD STRUCTURE ( that means it always crack when walking and not quiet soundproofing ), we started to lose our hope for staying in a four star rating hotel. The bed in a deluxe double room was really small (comparing to other hotel, I would say this double room may only fit one adult), and the sheet was not clean at all. The bathroom was also tiny, which had a serious pipe problem, we have to wait for minutes while watching the water in the tub slowly drain away. The lift is old, that's fine, but one day it just stop working, that really worried me, since we don't know will it got fixed later and we got a lot of luggage. ( it works again the day after that ) All staff are great, I won't deny that, they are kind and gentle to us and help us a lot.

Easy for tube but that's about it”
Vey disappointed. Yes it was easy for tube for Central London but other than that it was not good. Only tepid water for bath and shower. The bed was awful with both a dip in the middle that you kept rolling into. But the worst part was, I had some Thai money in my purse at the bottom of the suitcase which was stolen on the second day. They said they would investigate but even though my stay was for four nights I heard nothing more. So all in all, very, very disappointed and wouldnt recommend to anyone.

    A 4 star joke of a hotel - 2 stars more likely”
Our ground floor room not cleaned properly, and arriving at midnight,we could hear other residents chatting away until 1 am ; then again at 7am. More racket from our outdated air con which was like being inside a prop plane. And our bathroom so outdated and in need of upgrading as to shame a prison. Disabled unfriendly,as even on ground floor, many different levels to negotiate. No cooked breakfast available- the choice is chocolate cake or dived melon, with 1 cheese and 1 cold cut of meat. Never let anyone near this place!!

Charming boutique-like hotel in need of upgrades.”
Charming building, helpful and pleasant staff, but the rooms are in dire need of upgrading. One should not feel each spring coil in the mattress when sleeping, and bathrooms should not have moldy cracks in a 4 star hotel. The bathroom in one of the rooms was so small one had to shimmy sideways between the sink and the wall to get through to the shower stall, into which one had to squeeze into. The bedding is so thin and worn out that old stains are still seen and simply do not come out. Staff was helpful in finding a slightly larger room than the one originally offered, but even the larger room did not feel like it was worth the price. Really hope the hotel goes through an upgrade in the nearest time, as the location is indeed great, and there aren't many other options in the area.
