Unable to stay”
Our party of four was booked in for one night but the Hotel had no water and was closed when we arrived to check in. They had been unable to contact us but had booked us into alternative accommodation in the village. which proved to be very satisfactory. The Lygon Arms offered us a complimentary lunch with champagne for the next day which we accepted. The lunch was excellent and the service was very good.

Would be helpful to have signs for the rooms - otherwise their numbering is a bit random and not consecutive and was easy to get lost on the first visit.

Very nice but not perfect...”
The hotel is beautiful, beautiful design that puts great emphasis on its history, especially the main restaurant, which is stunning. The rooms are also nice, very comfortable beds and clean. The food was nice but not amazing. Same for the drinks, definitely didn't seem worth the price (£15 for Bellini) as cocktails were mediocre. The breakfast however was generous and the food was lovely. Location was also good, with easy access to walks and only a couple of hours walk to Broadway Tower and back in the snow. While this is not a comment on the hotel, it is worth mentioning that the high street was not treated for snow and ice and so walking outside on the pavements was quite difficult and very slippery. Overall our stay was very pleasant but our biggest disappointment was the spa as they had no spaces for treatments during the 3 days we stayed. We specifically chose this hotel due to the spa and its great reviews and so we were quite shocked that the spa couldn't accommodate treatments during the 3 days. You'd hope that a spa hotel at this standard would have sufficient staff and availability to accommodate its guests. Eventually the hotel did manage to get us a single slot for half an hour, which for a couple stay didn't seem sufficient nor was it quite long enough for the treatments offered.

The whole place was fantastic from the facilities to the food and staff. I would have no hesitation in returning (and hope to do so soon!) or recommending to friends.

Wedding”
We chose to stay at the Lygon Arms as we got married in Cheltenham. All the staff were very friendly and made our stay very special even though we didn't choose to us their hotel to get married at. We will defiantly be returning in the future. It's a brilliant hotel and we enjoyed every moment spent there. Thank you so much Mr and Mrs Hopkinson

2 out of 3 bedrooms were good”
Broadway is a beautiful village and The Lygon Arms is a very nice old world hotel and excellent rooms for drinks with friends
I had 3 rooms booked for the weekend and my guests were very disappointed with room 40 apart from having to access the room through the dining room, the room was very small and had a very small bed and bathroom

Stay at lygon hotel.”
Not washing up, a lye in and the pool.
Nice. The room was too hot and the outside door didn't close entirely therefore felt a little insecure. Pool was nice and staff were polite.

Hotel of olde worlde charm”
Room, staff and communal areas
We enjoyed staying in the hotel but did have three issues, one of them quite serious. However the reception staff dealt apologised profusely and did their best to rectify the situation at once, showing excellent customer service. Otherwise the room was excellent and we enjoyed our stay.

Hotel is ideally placed to visit the surroundings”
The best thing about this hotel was its position in the area. The Broadway is a lovely part of the Cotswolds and fairly central with great restaurents. The main part of the hotel had lots of character
The main part of the hotel had lots of character but the extensively extended parts were not in keeping with the original, they were cheap and dated in around the 70's i would think. Most of the hotel staff were pleasant although one member of the dinning staff was extremely rude, several complaints were raised. The evening drinks were expensive, they were poorly made and distributed, coffee served luke warm and little taste, spirits served without ice and they did not ask if you had a preference. The hotel was very clean and the main part was loaded with character, big open fires (which i would have prefered to be alight)even if just in the evening. the furnishings could have been better thought out to give the atmosphear and comfort desired. The sap area looked great, a weel equiped gym and a small but impressive swimming pool. The hotel is ideally situated in the cotswolds, to visit all the local towns and villages and the tourist attractions as well as the beautiful countryside. We dined out due to the attitude of the afore mentioned member of staff, but to be honest im glad we did as the local pub (horse and hound) just up the road served lovely food at reasonable prices, and the local indian restaurent (sheikhs)was great.

Lovley Hotel, Great Base”
Main Hotel , beautiful, great location ,take dogs, service nice.
We were in the modern built part , not as nice as the old part but probably because we took the dog.Still the room was nice if not as good as it could be.The main hotel is stunning with great little areas to have a drink or a snack or just chill out.The pool and gym are really nice too.Broadway is one of the nicest places to be and you are right in the middle and you have pubs hotels shops and supermarket within 100mtr. Perfect.

Wonderful food, hotel rooms very poor”
Food
we did not have a good experience, the first room we were allocated was very poor drab and tired with peeling wall paper out side the room. we asked to be moved and we were moved to another room with a bathroom seperate of the room, not ensuite . i had no heating in it with tiled walls and floors in mid november too cold to use. the room was period with uneven floors which made the nights sleep bad as you had to try to stop rolling to the left all night. the food was amazing but as i'd gone for a special birthday and to stay not just eating it was very disappointing. i was refunded by the manager for the room only but spent a huge amount on food.don't think this experience would make me return. unhappy as totally spoil the birthday weekend.night porter excellent and manager very understanding.
