Beautiful grounds and lovely location”
The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff are attentive and welcoming. It is about 1 hour drive from Heho Airport. The villas are lovely and well spaced apart, with good air conditioning and showers; they could use a little updating of paint and upholstery on the couches but for the price I think the value is great. Compared to other hotels in the area the grounds are spectacular. Meals at the restaurant and tours of the area were very good and not priced unreasonably. The spa is very good value.
Beatiful hotel! ”
This was our last stop in Myanmar and couldn't have been better. The hotel is beautiful and the villas quite luxurious, perfect for relaxing. The swimming pool is lovely, a nice spot to see the sunset. We arranged our sightseeing tours through the hotel and everything worked out well. The staff was very helpful throughout our stay. The food was at the restaurant was good, as well as the buffet breakfast. Definitely recommended and would stay again for sure!
Fantastic stay. Rooms are beautiful, staff are fantastic and excursions are perfect, in particular the sunset canoe ride. Only criticism, the food was good at times but not amazing. A much smaller menu would make more sense.
Perfect retreat with a view of the lake”
Villa Inle Resort is a gorgeous hotel. Each suite is a separate bungalow nestled in nature with a terrace overlooking the lake. The suite is beautifully designed and very comfortable, it was hard not to stay in the room all day. The food in the hotel restaurant was very good and the service was excellent. The pool and bar were under construction and would be something to look forward to once done. Wi-fi was very slow though so don't expect to go online
Great hotel with large, wonderful rooms”
This was one of the, if not the nicest, hotel room I have ever stayed in. Large, beautifully detailed room with separate bathroom w/ freestanding bathtub and separate shower, comfortable bed and beautiful deck to have breakfast overlooking Inle Lake. Great food. A wonderful stay!
Very quiet - no noise from long tail boats”
Great place if you are staying for 2 nights and are busy. Rooms great. Water pressure and bathrooms fabulous You need to either have taxi or bait to take you anywhere and you can't negotiate price. There is no swimming pool so when it's hot there is nowhere to cool down or go really. No push bikes. Wifi is not reliable. Staff fabulous
We stayed here with our two young daughters over Burmese New Year for 2 nights. Huge bungalow that was utterly beautifully designed, heaps of space for extra bed and a couch for the kids, big balcony, wonderful breakfast served on our terrace. The only hiccup was the unexplained price of the airport transfer but the manager handled it all very well and professionally. Go there now before the prices jump up!
Best place to stay with visiting Inle Lake”
i arrived very early in the morning around seven a.m. and my villa was ready which was a blessing after the 14-hour bus ride from yangon. it is much better to stay there or at the 3 other hotels on the lake proper than at the village of nyaungshwe which is a long boat ride from the inle lake sights. at villa inle resort, all the staff was great but i have to make a special mention about the guest relations manager, a german lady, who was incredibly helpful. the villas are very nice. this is a new hotel that opened in november 2011. the only aspect of this place that could be improved is the quality of the food served at their restaurant. it is passable and the service as elsewhere in the hotel is great but at prices charged for the meals and considering the overall excellent quality of this hotel, one would expect gourmet food. for example, getting an onion soup with a small slab of processed cheese on top was a disappointment. where was the gruyère cheese?
Stunning resort on the Lake”
We had a wonderful time at Villa Inle Resort and Spa - the villas are just beautiful and spacious, and have a wonderfully romantic feel. The restaurant, bar and pool area was great, and we had the best massages of our trip at the spa. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the while the location is far from town you have the most incredible view of the lake - its a magical experience.
Rooms were amazing and the view of the lake stunning but the bar and restaurant were way overpriced for Myanmar for the quality of food on offer and as nothing else is walking distance unless you have transportation you were stuck with there food.
From the moment our long boat pulled into the dock I knew I made an excellent choice to stay here! Absolute paradise. Wish I was able to stay longer and absorb the beauty and peacefulness of this incredible hotel. Took advantage of ever amenity they had - pool, spa and restaurant. The evening tea service was quite an unexpected and wonderful surprise. Nice touch that out this hotel over the top as far as service.
Enjoyed our stay overall! ”
Pros.. very beautiful property, large room with nice layout. All amenities taken into consideration. Great spa. Very nice staff!! Cons.. dinner prices are on higher end. Most we have paid in all Myanmar stay but less flavorful than we have had in Yangon, Kalaw, on trek to lake, or Mandalay. Mosquitos in restaurant are very bothersome during mealtimes. Laundry service stained a shirt and categorized clothing to higher price point.
Villa Inle Lake, Wonderful.”
Simply a stunning place to stay at Inle Lake on the lake. Mountains behind and the lake in front. We were lucky enough to see a beautiful sunset over the lake from the swimming pool terrace and a a full moon rising at the same time over the mountains. The pool is huge as are the Villas. The gardens are beautiful and give a wonderful feeling if space and privacy. Staff really friendly and the night time service of coming to your room with a ginger tea and turn down service to wrap up the massive bed in the mosquito net fantastic. Highly recommend as a luxury indulgence.
Gorgeous place but EXPENSIVE food and services”
Fantastic location, views, bungalows, swimming pool and gardens. Restaurant and tour services VERY VERY expensive so we arranged tours amd cabs from outside ourselves. Staff not always knowledgeable and not respomsibe to emails prior to arrival. We were there in low season amd understand that some new staff were being trained.
Stunningly tasteful rooms. Lovely location. It perhaps required an additional relaxing area, other than the restaurant and the pool, but that is minor details. Fantastic trip up the lake. Bring plenty of money if you are a shopaholic and into handcrafts.
Beautiful resort with lovely staff”
Great stay here, lovely villas in a very peaceful setting. Real attention to detail in thinking through what guests need. We travelled with our small baby and staff were very kind to us. Great food too, expensive relative to normal in MM but an impressive array of breakfast items, and a good menu of well executed dishes for meals.
Great location and peaceful resort”
Overall the stay was excellent. Staff were friendly and the food was quite good. Breakfast buffet was quite comprehensive and extra requests were handled just fine. The pool is nice and big enough but quiet. If you have kids under 10, it will be too quiet by the poolside for them. Most people at the resort were couples or retirees, not many kids. One thing to bear in mind is that there is a huge tomato farm on the lake in front of the resort, so although the lake villas are on the lake's edge - it doesn't look like it due to the tomato farm (which grows in the lake). In saying that however, every morning we were greeted by cranes and water buffalos that grazed on our lawn right in front of the villa - that really excited the kids. From the location the resort has a boat you can rent for the day at a reasonable price, that will take you to all the sites. We didn't spend much time in the main city centre which was good as there isn't much to see there. The spa was ok, not worth the cost to be frank. Finally although it was a great stay, it was also one of the most expensive hotels during our tour of Myanmar and arguably is a bit over-priced for what you get…. but in saying that, we would stay here again.
A Great Stay On the Lke”
We loved our stay at the Villa Inle Resort And Spa. It is a very peaceful place to stay with attentive staff who were always willing to accomodate our requests. I would definitely stay here again when I visit Inle Lake again. Well done to all the staff and groundskeepsers 5* from me.
Nice Lakeside resort at a "private" location”
Nice attentive staff at this "remote" resort. No need to arrange hotel pickup as you can just hop on a taxi or pickup truck outside the airport at half the price. You should ask hotel staff to help arrange excursions with outside agency as there's a huge premium otherwise. One of the best resort in the region however it does cost a lot if you take into account the average living cost of this country. You may also check out other newly build resorts in the region
Inle Lake Adventure”
Mostly very good, but on one occasion noise from machine wood cutting- the village backs on close to the site. The staff dealt with it very quickly, but we wondered how often this was a problem Spa treatments were good and very reasonably priced. food in the restaurant was of good quality and service very friendly. Our visit to Inle Lake was a highlight of our trip, but noted there was a lot of new hotels under construction, so things will not stay the sae for much longer.
