Beautiful grounds, top tier service”
The rooms were exceptional--my only suggestion is to add the Thai style spray in the toilet : ) Otherwise an amazing resort on beautiful grounds.

worth spending one night at border”
it was not cheap but really worth to spend one night at this hotel. the view of three countries and elephants from the balcony could happen only in this hotel. Also "Walking with giants" experience was fantastic memory we could make here. All staff we met at hotel were polite and professional.

Excellent property, service and activities, especially walking with the Giants. However, everything comes with highly price but I still recommend it for all. You get what you paid for.

Extraordinary experience ”
All the staff are professional and friendly. Our trip with two kids (4 and 3 years old) was really enjoyable. Activities with elephants are fun. And specially the Jungle Bubble, that was a unforgettable experience. Everything is more than expectation.

Best hotel experience ever!”
From the word go, We felt like royalty the moment we stepped into Anantara. We were greeted at the door with flowers. Our room was of the upmost luxury, no detail had been forgotten. We had an enormous balcony which overlooked the infinity pool and the Burmese mountains. The staff could not have been more friendly and attentive. They were very accomodating to our needs. We had 3 days worth of activities booked via the hotel and everything was typed up into an itinary for us. One of the activities was Mahout training. We rode the elephants and also bathed with them. We were very much looked after and there was 2 mahouts to every elephant which made you feel safe. An experience I'll never forget. Might I add that the elephants are very well looked after and there was nothing circus like about it which was reassuring. One other special event that we shared at anantara was "dining by design" in the baby elephant camp. My partner and I had our own private dining experice away from the hotel at there baby elephant camp. We had our own chef and were surrounded by baby elephants. My best meal experience ever. My partner and I were very sad to leave after our 3 days there. It felt like home and we were saying goodbye to a new family. We will be back soon I hope.

Luxury..but at a price”
We did enjoy our stay here very much.and the price of the accomodation with breakfast was very reasonable for a hotel of this type..If money is no object then you will Love this hotel however if you are on a tight budget then forget it.. Elephant activities are much more expensive than anywhere else in Thailand although they are undoubtedly much better looked after than many we saw on our trip.. The cheapest bottle of wine was £30 (Monsoon valley Thai red wine) It was very nice though! The Spa I thought was also very expensive a massage was double the price I pay at home..We got around this by eating out a few times and buying some beers and Thai rice whisky (Oh my God!!) from the Seven eleven store in Chiang Saen for evening drinks on the balcony!! Or laying in the enormous Marble bath!! Its a great place for two or three days chill out but we couldnt have afforded a week there :-( Lovely staff and good food in a Beautiful setting!!

In one word: fabulous”
People who like serene and tranquil places, or a romantic hideaway, or just want to unwind for a few days after Bbangkok: this is the place. Not for party people! Quite far from Chiang Rai, and certainly from Chiang Mai, but on the Golden Triangle, so you can visit Laos and Burma.

Anantara Golden Triangle”
We went to the Anantara to do the elephant mahout training which was an excellent experience. Far better than any similar trips we had done in Thailand and Laos. The elephant camp is run very well. The Anantara was a beautiful hotel in an amazing location. It was small and intimate and the staff were exceptionally well trained and attentive. Overall it was a great experience. The only downside is that it is very remote and there is very little to do nearby.

Luxury Elephant Lodge”
The Anantara Resort is a hidden treasure! The "Mahout" (Elephant) Training Program is fabulous. One gets to walk into the misty jungle at dawn, escort the Elephants into camps, feed them, bath them, play with them. It is the most unique experience! One of the best Thai meals ever in their restaurant overlooking the jungle to Burma. Very exotic!

Staying in Paradise”
The Hotel has a lovely location, perched on a ridge overlooking the hills of Myanmar and Laos. In addition, the hotel has an own Elephant Camp which you can visit and which gives you the opportunity to explore the surrounding forest on an elephant. Furthermore the hotel is embedded in an unforgettable natural beauty of this evocative corner of Southeast Asia. From the pool you have an excellent view over the mekong delta and the rooms and suites are lovely decorated. A dream ressort of luxury and joy!

lovely spa”
we had a wonderful time at the spa for our honeymoon. it is not the most cultural experience but it is a beautiful resort in a picturesque location with amazing sunrises, great restaurants, and top notch service. it is a short walk to the local opium museum and a short walk to "town", where there are some buddhas, some markets, and boats to Laos and Myanmar. but most impressively it is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the golden triangle... this is truly a fantastic location!

Beautiful place, experience of a lifetime”
Got a driver to pick us up at the airport and since then, the experience has been nothing but joyful and great. The staff(including driver) ensured that every effort is made to make us feel comfortable and happy. Food is included in the resort price so that's great and considering that there're no other eateries near the resort, we were so great the food provided was delish ! Mahout experience was fun and educational as the staff showed us how life is for the rescued elephants. We even got to meet a baby elephant there! Overall, though costly, but this experience is definitely worth your money, even if it's just for once.

Fantastic!”
We stayed at the Anantara for four nights, and had a wonderful time! Service was first class; food was amazing. Although a little out of the way, there were enough to keep us occupied - day trips to Myanmar and Laos, cycling, elephant camps, or just lounging by the pool. Mike, the hotel manager, runs a great hotel!

Over rated resort hotel”
The Anantara is in a very remote town in Chiang Saen, Thailand. It is 90 minutes away from the Chiangrai Airport and 60 minutes away from the town of Chiangrai. Unless you plan to stay at the resort the whole time, there aren't much to do around. Of course, if you are willing to spend per day more, then you might be able to rent a hotel car and visit the nearby sights. The travel packages at the resort are very over priced as well as the restaurants. We paid extra for the deluxe three country view, thinking that this is a special experience and as it turn out, our friend who paid for the regular room had the same view. We certainly felt mislead and cheated. On the other side, the pool was spectacular and the staff on site was wonderful, friendly and very helpful.

Paradise in the Golden Triangle”
We loved this resort, and can only hope we get to stay here again. The highlight was our morning in the 'mahout training school' -- it was thrilling to sit on the neck of the elephants. The mahouts took good care of us and let us have the impression that we were actually steering the elephants! The pool is beautiful. It was an amazing sensation to know we were looking out at Burma. The setting and design were matched by the warmth of the staff. They were truly attentive and friendly. We hope to come back one day.
