Pleasant hotel with a great ambience”
Our stay at The River Kwai hotel was very smooth and a memorable one. What made it memorable firstly was the “easy to talk with” and friendly staff. They provided a lot of useful information to guide me in Kanchanaburi and melted away all my worries with their intoxicating smiles when needed. So, a big thumbs up to the staff there! Secondly, the food at the hotel restaurant was a delight. We have been staying in Thailand for 4 years but I have never savored Thai food so much. Thirdly, the central location of the hotel made it easier for me to go around as convenient stores and shops were close by. And lastly, rooms were fairly spacious. Overall, it was a pleasurable experience putting aside all my work commitments for a while breathing the River Kwai air. We found it as a home away from home and I am sure you will too.

We were running at an extreme pace when we arrived at the hotel. All went very fast and easy upon arrival. The stay was pleasant, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. New year in the River Kwai”
The River Kwai Hotel is a very nice hotel,good rooms clean and a good size,the buffet breakfast was a lot better than most we have tried,the staff very friendly spoke very good english,just make sure you get a room away from the nightclub down stairs,we went to Kanchanaburi for the New Year thinking they would be a big firework display and countdown over the brige on the river Kwai but nothing quiet as a mouse,so we had our New Year in the hotel,they did a great party and we all had a good time,I would recommend this hotel highly.

Wonderful Welcome”
Even it is only 3 star hotel and doesn't have a fancy look,the River Kwai Hotel surprises me by its warm and nice service. The door men rushed to assist our group on the bags and luggage, the front desk nicely greeted and helped us on the paper work and everyone there always had a beautiful smile on their faces. The room was neatly done. Its breakfast was very impressive! There are a lot of selection to lighten up your morning...Thai, Chinese, western or light meal like corn flake, fruits and milk. Indeed the taste was great. As I saw, the manager closely paid attention to the detail on the breakfast. The only con side was that the electricity at the room I stayed was fluctuate. Once I informed to the front, they quickly tried to fix it. If you don't need to stay at any fancy hotel, this hotel will treat you like the 7 star guest.

I totally loved Kanchanaburi and the River Kwai Hotel (the amenities were fantastic and the location was great if you are planning trips around), I wish we could have stayed longer. There was a really lovely feel to the place and the people were truly lovely. When I return, I will definitely book into the river kwai hotel again.

Great Hotel with Great Services”
It was a nice and pleasant stay, fist off I booked a superior room which was great. Later on I went on a trip and came back but this time I booked a studio s which was not pleasant as the superior room in my opinion. The hotel is located in the center of the city near market and the river is just a 10 min walk. The hotel has a nice pool and a great breakfast with variety of food, specially the eggs station where you can order eggs the way you like it and I will be done to your liking, there’s a restaurant just outside the door and a disco so you can have some delicious Thai and western food. If you'd like to have an excellent thai massage, there you go there's a great thai massage just outside door which is a professional thai massage and belongs to river kwai hotel. I like the hotel that I have been staying in this hotel for the last 8 years and will continue so, final words the staff are amazing.

GOOD STAY AT RIVER KWAI HOTEL”
The River Kwai Hotel was the first 1st class hotel in Kanchanaburi. It still lives up to this standard and its reputation in terms of quality of service and the comfort of the rooms. The hand basins are a little chipped but this doesn't detract from the overall standard. Breakfast is first rate.

Very nice with many facilities.”
Stayed for 2 nights over Anzac Day 2012. Hotel arranged transport to Hellfire Pass dawn service and was helpful on all levels. Was very hot few days, but the remeberance services at Hellfire Pass and the Cemetary was worth battling the heat. Also not too far from the Bridge over the River Kwai, so lots of interest in Kanchanaburi for military buffs like me. Will definitly return!

The Best Beds in town”
Beds in Thailand can be hard. I've returned to River Kwai Hotel specifically for the beds. They're the most comfortable beds from Bangkok to Vientiane. That and it's a good price with a good breakfast buffet. It's right on the main drag of town and much can be reached on foot. The train station is a brisk 10-minute walk to take the train out to the River Kwai Bridge and the front desk can call a Tsongtao for you for Tiger Temple and such. Tiger Temple . Free WiFi in the lobby-ask the front desk for login in name and password.

Pretty hotel, good location.”
It was a good stay in River Kwai hotel. The staff is very helpfull. WIFI was good and free. The location is OK and not far from train and busstation. Iff you like to go to this hotel ask for a room on a higher floor. It can be noisy because of a karoke and a restaurant with life music on the groudfloor. The music stop about 1.30 a.m. My room was very beautiful.

River Kwai Hotel, good for the price we paid.”
The hotel was nice for the price we go via Agoda, in Bangkok at the ‘official’ tourist agency, they were asking for 1500 baht per night. The rooms are spacious, attractive and clean, but sadly let down by poor maintenance. Safe, mini bar, cute toiletries and hair dryer are all provided. The restaurant has good food at a reasonable price, we ate their both nights. I would stay again at the reduced price. The location is ok but it’s not near the river or bridge and taxis in Kanchanaburi are actually motorbikes, which do not provide the passenger with a helmet. You can catch a taxi/bus (thai style), but just try to flag one down in torrential rain. If you are doing organised tours, this won’t be a problem. I did see the pool area from the floor above, which looked good, but didn't venture closer. Breakfast was great, more than enough to choose from, both western and asian.

Classic hotel in Kanchanaburi”
The River Kwai Hotel is an older hotel in the main part of Kanchanaburi. It is convenient to the River Kwai Bridge and one of the Allied cemeteries from World War II. The restaurant had a good selection of foods and there is a swimming pool and excellent Spa 100 meters from the hotel. Internet is available at the hotel and the staff is attentive.

Nice hotel close to the train station”
We enjoyed our stay at the River Kwai Hotel...the pool area was lovely and it was a close walk to downtown, the train station and the night market.....the hotel could do with some carpet replacements but the beds were excellent and the two pillows each was nice and fluffy......we would recommend this hotel to other travellers....

We like the River Kwai Hotel this was our second visit.Theres alot to do in the area elephant riding,rafting,tiger temple etc they will arrange all the trips for you we found them to be better value than doing it yourself.They have just opened a new nightclub which looked pretty good and there is a bar and two restaurants.It is close to town centre so within walking distance of shops, markets and restaurants

The River Kwai Hotel is a nice hotel for price, no complaints about hotel itself, but would not recommend it or stay again because of the noise until 2pm from the night bar which was loud music and we were a party of eight and none of us got to sleep until after it stopped.

Over the past few weeks, with a couple of friends, we drove around parts of the southern and central Thailand. Working to a budget and primarily looking for short term accommodation the River Kwai Hotel Kanchanaburi was more than adequate for the needs of a sight seeing in transit tourist. The River Kwai is a clean and comfortable hotel. The staff is friendly and efficient with good English. The classic design room was clean and large. The classic design bathroom was also large and clean. The shower, airco, lighting, frig, flat tv, wifi all operated well; there is good cupboard space. There are tables and chairs in the large room. The hotel is recommended for all travellers with a free car park at the Hotel.

Great value for money. ”
Great stay at River Kwai Hotel. Will recomend it to a friend who likes a peaceful country-side holiday. We took the train from River Kwai station which was 200 Bhat per passenger to Thamkrase station. This was the highlight of our trip.Specially when the train went over the wooden trestle bridge constructed by the POW of five nations. It was like reliving the past.We got our van to pick us up at Thamkrase and visited Soi Yok Noi Water fall too. Do remember to take your swim wear as the water fall is a great place to have a soak after a hot day.
