Delicious Traditional Cuisine”
First and foremost, the food was one of the best Japanese cuisine I have ever experienced, and this is coming from a Japanese person. Dinner was a course meal that included the famous local Kinmedai (fish) and was served at our room by a friendly and caring staff.

Ocean Views & Good for the Money”
The hotel is not brand new but it's clean and all rooms offer ocean views. I enjoyed the open air onsen, then returned to my room each night and slept with windows open to hear the waves.

We had the Japanese room B, 3 adults. Small coastal town. Perfect for a relaxing getaway. Excellent view. Food was good and in the room dining. The only problem was if you leave the window open, mosquitos will join you while you sleep. Overall... great and relaxing stay!!

I only came to Izu for the onsen experience and I probably came at a low-peak season as Izu was pretty much a ghost town. There was nothing to do in Izu anyway, it was just a small town with onsen hotels and a beach for surfers. I arrived at the station and the hotel's shuttle van driver was already waiting for my arrival despite me not making any pick-up arrangements. The hotel seemed empty but when I was ushered to my room, I guess I was only worried about nothing. Room is very clean, huge and I had an amazing view of the ocean! The staff here are friendly and I was pampered like a princess when they brought my meals to my room and prepared my futon before I turn in for the night. For an onsen town, the onsen at the hotel was only average as I have been to better ones. They had one indoors onsen with a view of the ocean and a smaller one outdoors, both on a high floor. There is no internet connection so I took it as a good opportunity to take a break from the outside world. But I succumbed to the lack of connection anyway by using the wifi connection that is only available in the lobby. Mosquitoes might be a problem here though but they have insect repellent for that. I guess my only regret is that I only stayed here for a night.

Great break from Tokyo”
We went to Izu to get away from Tokyo for the weekend. We spent two days on the beaches around Atagawa and spent the night at Atagawakan. We got a last minute all-inclusive deal which was fantastic value for money.

We were very well recieved and taken care of even if very Little English was spoken. Indeed very Japanese style with both Indoor and outdoor spa just next to the ocean. Excellent dinner including Abalone and Lobster was served in the tatame room. Good value for Money. Walking distance to a small Railway station. Long paved walking sidewalk on the ocean side. All in all quite enjoyable.

As we have sent email to hotel asking the content of dinner, it is because one of my friend does not eat fish. The hotel doesn't give us any reply. When we have the dinner at the hotel, all seafood (including squid, shrimp, crab and abalone) of my friend is replaced with pork without informing us beforehand. When we want to make complaint to manager-in-charge, the service staff told us he is off duty and no one can handle our complaint. It is even though no one to approach us in the following departure date. We are completely disappointed on hotel's arrangement. Very old style managed hotel which we ever experienced in Japan.
