Beautiful botique hotel”
I stayed here for two nights while touring Florence. This hotel is located on the second floor of a building so it was a bit confusing for me to locate it at first (but this makes this hotel a safe one to stay). Also the elevator is not auto; it is an old-fashioned one with a button to be pushed manually to lift up. I found it very interesting though since this brought me a feeling I was back to 1970. Location wise, it is convenient since it is close to the main train station as well as car rentals (like 10 min to each by walking). The design of the b&b is very boutique and cozy. The room has provided all I need ( bottled water, soft drink, and even one charging port designed for US customers!) and it is very private for each guest to have a good night sleep. The hotel staff are very friendly with hospitality. The owner is an amiable gentleman who greets everyone with genuine smile, and brews fresh coffee for each guest in the morning. Definitely consider staying when you visit!

I really enjoyed my stay at B&B Il Marzoco. Staff was very friendly and helpful, although spoke minimal English. They even offered to arrange out of town day tours, with hotel pick-up, so it's convenient if you wish to go out of Florence for the day. Room was really clean, comfortable, and well kept. I loved that I could come back after a long, tiring day and have a restful sleep. I only wish they could switch up their breakfast menu everyday. I stayed for 4 nights and had the same breakfast every morning after. The major attractions are within a 10-15min walk. The area is quite safe and quiet, so I didnt really feel threatened walking home alone even after dark (10-11pm). Another bonus is that it's near the Sta M Novella train station. I just walked to and from, with a 20kg luggage and it wasn't a hassle at all. If I were to go back to Florence, I wouldn't mind staying here again :)

TERRIBLE LOCATION near traffic tunnel”
I rarely ever post reviews, but I feel morally obliged to let those considering the B&B Il Marzocco that the location is a 1/10. I do not understand how the "location" ratings I read online were so high because this is a quarter mile behind the train station, on a busy 4-lane road with a traffic light that leads to a commuter tunnel, and whether you are walking in the day or night to sights and restaurants, it is frustrating and time-consuming to spend time walking through an isolated area (view of the electric grid in the distance) in order to get to the large swath of charming Florence that is considered “city center." I’m sorry but this is NOT “city center,” even if it fits some technical criteria for that classification. If you need to stay so close to the train station, then at least stay on the other side of it, closer to sights.

Cara Leona, sappiamo benenoi e te che il tuo problema fondamentale era la lontananza dai "tuoi amici" da quall'altra parte della città (San Niccolò)...e allora ti chiedo: come mai non hai prenotato una struttura in San Niccolò? Forse costava il doppio?? In quanto alla zona trafficata a quattro corsie, il tunnel ecc ecc.. forse dovresti fare un aggiornamento del tuo navigatore sul cellulare! Siamo in zona pedonale a soli 200 mt dalla Stazione di Santa Maria Novella e non a caso basta leggere tutte le altre recensioni...prima della tua... Saremo lieti di ospitarti un'altra volta e magari accompagnarti nelle strade giuste pedonali e non in quelle dove è possibile andare solo in macchina...... Un cordiale saluto Lo staff
Excellent location and nice staff”
The hotel is located in a residential building with classic european interior design, which is a good tourist experience. Hotel have elevator, no need to worry your big luggage. The rate is really reasonable and 8mins walk from the train station. Room is clean and the staff are super nice! :)

Excellent experience that won't let you down.”
Good position only take 10mins walk from FSM, 20mins walk to Duomo, but the hotel is inside a building facing a crossroad which not very easy to find. Classical decoration with full modern devices. Delicious breakfast. Helpful and easy going holders can give you travel advices or you can take the maps and guides on the front desk. We certainly will be back!

Stayed with mum and sister in triple room. Ideal room with lovely owner. Communicated fine despite my very limited Italian. Really handy for station. Walkable to all key sites. Very quiet in room despite busy road outside. Good breakfast and fridge in room.

The owner is really kind and helpful. You will need to climb a few stairs but then there is lift at the top of the stairs. The room is a bit small but have own bathroom. Close to main train station and attractions.

The place is charming with old world feel to it. ”
Pros. Cute room. Reasonable distance to tourist spots. Reasonable price. Friendly front. Cons. Shower water is fluctuating. It turns hot all of a sudden for about 2 secs, then normal again. Then hot again. The breakfast if the same, and on our last breakfast they did not serve all the breads they usually serve.

BEST YOU CAN FIND IN FIRENZE!”
Family-owned. Strategically located. You can walk from point to point. Anyhow, if you are arriving at Firenze SMN Station; it is probably about 500 m walk. Really easy. Giorgio gave me detailed directions. Also, good food! Restaurants in every corner. Beautiful culture. Worth the time - had a great stay. True homely Fiorentina hospitality. I love it. Will definitely be back here - when I am back in Firenze.

Cost effective accommodation not too far out of town. ”
A good clean spacious room with good bedding and a spacious bathroom. Cold breakfast is adequate. Coffee is good. There us a lift. Location is not too far from the old city. Parking is a problem and costs 25 euro per night and this came as a surprise. The staff including the valet service to go park the car are friendly and effective.

Nice host even with minimal English. He introduced the key sites of the city when we check-in. Good location. Only 5-10mins walk from the train station. And walkable to all key sites.
