Exceptional”
One of my top five accommodations, of all time. This place is such a gem! It's a local private house turned into a guest house/art gallery. Loved everything about the place - the pool, the room interior, the bathroom. But most of all, the owner and the staff are all really nice and friendly. I will definitely recommend this place to all my friends. If you get the chance, buy their art collections too.

So peaceful, can't hear nearby traffic and very tranquil near the pool. It is family owned and they go out of their way to make it a special time for their guests. The artwork made by the owner and the story behind the place itself makes Bale Bali even more special. 10/10

A hidden gem”
The property is situated about a 5-7 minute walk from Ubud Palace. The owners are lovely and very helpful. Beautiful outdoor bathroom, although the tiles in the covered part can be slippy. Breakfast is brought to your terrace each morning and rooms are serviced. Property is a private home with additional rooms built on but is beautifully quiet and private. The walk back to the property at night is quite dark, but even as a solo female I felt quite safe.

Less than I expected”
This is a homely and friendly little home stay set in an atmospheric compound full of the artists paintings. My room was a decent size though (and I like hard beds) I woke up every morning with back ache. There was no tv but a pointless DVD player. The wifi was very weak. The door of the room didn’t lock very well. I knew the bathroom was outside which I don’t mind. The tiled floor was very slippery and there was a steep step to it from the bedroom. To get to the shower nestled beautifully in the corner of the bathroom you had to walk over stones which was painful. The location was a bit far out , out of town up a hill and apart from a wildly overpriced restaurant nearby, eating involved a fair walk. I was a little disappointed

Couldn't have been better!”
We booked 4 nights at the Bale Bali Inn and extended for a additional night. The rooms are quite new (just 6 rooms) and very clean and well equipped. We especially liked the outdoor bathroom and the very very hot water wifi was for free and if very good quality. The hotel is located near to Ubud center and therefore we reached everything by walking, but although we didn't used, the owner provides motorbikes. But what very special is that there are only 6 rooms and you get therefore in touch with the owner and his family. We asked for a recommendation to do a cooking class and the owner offered to do a cooking class with us. So we went (Sunday morning 5 o'clock) to the market, bought all we need for traditional sate and afterwards we prepared lunch and dinner together. At we payed only the ingredients. This was the greatest experience I had during my stay in Indonesia. And not only the cooking class itself, every time we came "home" we felt like a family member. So in my opinion there is no better way to stay if you want good and clean rooms and if you would like to get in touch with the local people and their tradition.

Friendly Home Stay”
I had actually checked out this property on a previous visit to Ubud, and thought Bale Bali Inn would be a great place to stay. I liked it because the rooms were in a Balinese family compound, there was a small pool, the I could see the sky from the bathroom and shower, a good sized fridge, simple breakfast, and located within walking distance of the main street. Our hosts were excellent, always wanting to please. Negatives: personal, but I prefer places without children and both the hosts and other guests had young children so I avoided the pool at times, it took me a few mornings to figure out the breakfast menu (nothing written down so we were unsure of what was available to even request), very dark along the street returning in the evening so suggest take a torch. If you want a more authentic experience than staying in a big hotel, this place is a great choice. Good value.

Bale Bali Inn is a little gem in Ubud, your made to feel very welcome by the family. You couldn't fault the rooms, it was like having your own villa. Although the swimming pool needs a clean as it wasn't cleaned during our stay. There were no English channels which is disappointing after a long day out. Other that this we were extremely happy.

Just like Bali used to be”
Stayed for 3 nights with Arka and his wife Made in this gorgeous setting. These rooms were built only 2 years ago. There are a few rooms facing the family compound and then behind the compound 6 other rooms set in a tropicalgarden area with the most amazing pool and 2 sunchairs. The rooms are spacious with crisp white linen and lovely original artwork. The outdoor bathroom is just so Bali! A lovely longe and sun lounge on your We woke each morning to a tray on our balcony of tea and coffee and then when we were ready we just let Wayan know and she cooked us banana pancakes 2 mornings and omelettes the other and a plate of fruit. Arka is a beautiful host, always happy to have a chat. Interested in you and what your doing and happy to talk about the Balinese culture. Just a 5 minute stroll up a slight hill from Ubud Palace and the main street. THIS IS A STAND OUT. I would highly recommend this for your stay in Ubud and hope to return in the very near future, Thanks Arka, Made and Wayan for a wonderful stay.

This new set of rooms on an existing family compound is beautifully decorated. Wonderful new beds! Gorgeous pool. very walkable to center of town. even more motorbikeable, if that is a word. Beautiful outdoor bathroom, H/W and A/C. owners very nice and responsive. grounds lovely. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here, and would return for sure. Warning, the agoda map is wrong! use Google map, it is correct. Agoda map shows property about 1000 ' south of its actual location. (street is corect)

Didn't expect the beds to have the give of a piece of plywood. No matter what it says in advertisements, no breakfast. Didn't expect entire bathroom to be outside which means always dragging toiletries in/out. Did have a TV but cord ended at least 5 feet before any possible plug. Outside door has got huge gaps instead of closing flush to the frame so mosquitoes have unfettered access. Don't think anyone had swept between lamp and bed for time immemorial. Same for space by refrigerator. If you are a 20 year old and just want shower and bed, this is for you. Pool is sparkling clean and easy walk to town center. I didn't want to spend all my time there miserable, so left after 2 days. No, didn't ask for money back as that wouldn't gave been fair. No good light to read by either.
