Feeling home in Banaue hotel”
The first time we came in this hotel was in 1977. Since than we have been here many times, also with our four daughters. This gives us the feeling of coming home everytime. We enjoy sitting on de balcony and have a view on the high mountains which surround us. The swimming pool is very beautiful.

Old hotel, rustic feels, needs improvement”
The hotel was designed and built when the earth was much more cooler. Rooms have no AC system, in fact the whole building is. However, the lobby and hallways are open spaces so these are much cooler than the rooms. There is only a door leading to the veranda with no screen to let the cool air from outside in, but bugs at night do come inside the room. When we arrived the plumbing system was being fixed so water was kinda hard to come by. But the staff were all helpful and provided us with buckets of water. They even assisted us in our needs for the sightseeing. The hotel is a government property, I just hope our government will put in funds to properly renovate and improve the place. Food is acceptable, just needs a bit improvement in the presentation. Too bad we were not able to explore most of the features of the property as we run a very tight schedule.

We had a good stay at Banawe Hotel.”
Altho the hotel is old, it is well maintained. The welcome sineage at the entrance with the guest name was a pleasant gesture. Great for photo op. Our room had a balcony and we were able to watch the beautiful sunrise. The staff were friendly and efficient. We had an early dinner and our table had a fantastic view of the mountains and we witnessed the sunset while we were eating. Great! The free cultural presentation was a big plus. The buffet breakfast had a good spread. The hotel had a good occupancy, majority were European tourists.

Good”
I have stayed at this hotel for more than 5 times. But my most recent stay last January 2020 was the worst experience I had. Gone were the friendly and accommodating staff who used to welcome and assist us. The new set of staff seem unfriendly and un accommodating especially the younger ones. They don’t even bother to smile at guests. So disappointing. I miss the friendliness and hospitality of the former staff.

A thing of the past”
Management would need to sort this hotel out. Friendly front desk staff and waiting staff does not make up for the fact that this reminds me most of a huge Sovjet era communist style hotel, where things have come to a complete standstill. There is no energy, life or atmosphere here, in one of the most beautiful places in the Philippines with the friendliest local people around. But food lacks behind (use all the beautiful local ingredients instead of processed products and frozen cut vegetables), the hotel still have covid-era posters everywhere, tacky Christmas decorations from the 90s, closed souvenir shops, a touch of paint, clean the windows, things are falling apart and maintenance staff / security staff are asleep, on their phones or taking a leak in the bushes on the paths, dogs running around on the premises and so on. This hotel has soooo much potential, but seems it has lost the will to live. For any independent travellers, there must be lots of cosy small hotels around and small eateries in town. This is a "safe" option with cold beers, but even internet is unstable, hot water same and interconnecting doors between rooms so much gap that it feels like you are sharing the room with someone else - and this is an an almost dead hotel with no-one around?!?

No running water in our 2 rooms for our 2 nights stay”
We’ve always stayed at Banawe Hotel every time we’ve visited Ifugao. We loved the scenic location, quiet atmosphere, the view and the breakfast. But this time we had a very bad experience coz for 2 nights and 3 days we stayed we did not have any water in our 2 rooms. We were advised either to take a shower downstairs or any time we needed water we would have to call the front desk and they would deliver water in a pale to each of our 2 rooms. We are not looking for any compensation but at least the management could say to us sorry for the inconvenience which they never said.

NICE HOTEL, THE ONLY REAL HOTEL OPTION IN BANAUE”
WE were overall pleasantly surprised. We knew that the hotel was a little old and expected it to be more dilapidated than what it was. Overall, our experience was very pleasant. The Hotel's location is great, it is away from the center of Banaue, so it is very quiet. The rooms are very spacious and have a nice view. The beds were good and how nice it was to sleep under thick blankets with no aircon, not even an electric fan. There is hot water, which is not always the case in Banaue, although it was only during mornings and evenings. The hotel restaurant serves very good food at affordable prices. The room came with an inclusive breakfast which was quite good overall. I would really recommend this hotel for anyone who goes to Banaue and expects a real hotel with some comfort - not just a lodge or something very basic. There is a swimming pool also, as well as small souvenir shop just few steps down from the swimming pool (going to Tam-an village) where we found very cheap but high quality local handicraft. Very easy to organize trips from the hotel - they have jeepneys and guides, although prices are a little high. Possibility to do nice walks directly from the hotel. Overall, highly recommended.

Comfortable rooms in a good location”
Hotel was not very heavily booked during our one night visit. Good location (quiet but not far from attractions and the town, as well as Banaue Viewpoint), clean rooms, decent food at restaurant, decent breakfast. Staff very friendly and warm. Outings/tours can be booked at the reception (although at a bit of a premium price). We organized a jeepney trip to Batad through the hotel and the driver was kind, friendly, and cautious. Accommodation available for driver at reasonable price. Bus terminal is right at the end of the access road to the hotel, which is very convenient. We had a very enjoyable trip. The only thing I would suggest by way of improvement would be that chairs be made available on the balconies of the 3rd floor (300 level room numbers). There is a beautiful view but you can't sit and look at it because there are no chairs on the balcony.

Lovely hotel”
I booked 11 hotels through agoda. for our 3 weeks vacation (Philippines, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur) and this lovely hotel stands out. The only regret- was we missed the cultural show; cause we checked in late. The hospitality; food and location is excellent. The hotel made efforts to put up my long name in front of the hotel to welcome us and the genuine hospitality of the Ifugaos serving welcome drinks and breakfast is awesome. I booked 3 rooms and 2 rooms were connected which is perfect. The prompt service and natural airconditioning really adds up. The mattress; water; gift shop; lobby and the surrounding area makes Banaue hotel an excellent place to stay while visiting the Banaue Rice Terraces.

Better than what I recalled”
My family and I first stayed in Banaue Hotel almost two decades ago at a time that the Halsema Highway was still not paved and the trip from Baguio City to Banaue would take 12 hours or so through winding roads. The Banaue Hotel that I recalled staying in back then was a dark and dreary place with no hot water for bathing and frequent blackouts. Fast forward to 2017/2018 (stayed 12/31/17 - 1/1/18), when we arrived at the hotel after a 6-hour drive from Tuguegarao City, we were welcomed by a brighter and more open lobby than what I recalled. There was Wi-Fi reception at the hotel lobby. While the rooms are still dated, they were comfortable and clean. Fortunately for us this time, there was hot water for bathing though you have to make use of the bucket and tabo since the shower was not working but is still an improvement of NO HOT WATER. Food was okay, not something to rave about. Location was great since we were headed to Baguio City next via Halsema Highway.

reakxing stay”
I would stay there again when in banaue. It is the best hotel in the area. It is not in the town center, good because it is far from the chaos. It is old but adequately maintained. It offers tours around the area, priced the same as those prescribed by the tourism authority. If there are enough guests, which it did that time, it lets a cultural group do show, for whatever donation one may give.

Amazing View! It's like finding a real treasure😊”
Banaue Hotel is totally amazing with its unspoiled view of the terraces and villages. Cleanliness is a plus. However, noisy guests can be heard sometimes but it's bearable. Their restaurant (also with a relaxing view) offers a variety of choices, and in big servings. Buffet breakfast for guests is okay for me, you get your money's worth. The pool looks clean. My family loved the place and we hope to stay here again. I can say that it's one of the best place to stay in Banaue😊, a blessed one!

Centrally located with a view of rice terraces”
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Banaue Hotel. It was a good base for our trips to the rice terraces, including Batad and Banaue Rice Terraces, both Unesco World Heritage Sites. From the hotel, we went on a day trip to Sagada, Mt Province. We got all our transport vehicles and tour guides through the hotel. Banaue Hotel is a very quiet hotel. Not much evening activities except cultural dances on select nights. Banaue Hotel is not a great hotel but it's the only one in town.
