Fantastic hotel with lovely staff”
From the time I arrived at the Bella Vista I was warmly greeted and welcomed by the lovely lady at the reception desk who offered me fresh milk for hot drinks along with hot chocolate packets which weren't in the room. Pretty much every request was attended to swiftly but also any questions no matter how silly were answered honestly and throughly. She was always happy for a quick friendly chat as well. My room faced onto the road on the ground floor so there was slight noise coming from the road but the town is so small that the noise is minimum, unless you are there when the towns fire alarm goes off. This is very loud and occurs when there is a fire, car crash or something similar and I'll ring until they have enough people to help the situation. The loudest noise you'll probably get is when the large coaches arrive into the town. Being at the end of the town there isn't much noise around from other hotels or the bars as they are at the other end of the street. Location of the hotel is convienent being at the end of the main street in Fox Glacier township so everything is just a quick walk up the hill; being the convenience store, restaurants and the checkin location for the Glacier tours. Just next door to the hotel is a little walking track leading through the rainforest that leads to the base of the Glacier itself. Lake Matheson is a good walk from the town but there are people who will drive you there return for $10 and is well worth the walk around the lake. My favorite feature of my room was the heating available; being the great wall heater along with the electric blanket on the bed but the best thing was the in bath spa. Greatly needed this after a tour on the glacier as it was relaxing and heated. The TV has the normal channels in NZ with some cable movie channels included. I was nothing but impressed with the Bella Vista in Fox Glacier from the moment I arrived until I unforturnely had to leave. I would recommend this hotel to other travel

Very nice apartments in the center of town”
The motel is centrally located and very close to the tour bus pickup point. I had a wonderful one-night stay and will come back. The room was well-furnished with a comfortable bed and kitchen facilities. The bathroom was clean and white, and was even equipped with a spa bath-tub. What a treat! The complimentary wifi connection was good. The lady at the reception desk (Sue) was extremely friendly and provided helpful tourist information. The only downside was the yellowish water from the taps. It was not the fault of Bella Vista. It was the water in the Fox Glacier area. I bought my own drinking water from the grocery, which was just 50 meters away. I had dinner at "The Asian Wok" next door. It used to be called "The Indian Kitchen". I tried the Thai food, which was delicious as it was cooked by a real Thai chef. An Indian couple dining there told me the Indian food was excellent.

Friendly staff and perfect location”
It was an unforgettable experience for me in Fox Glacier. The Motel is located in the main street, where you can access bistros, grocery stores, and travel centres in minutes. The room is spacious and bright, in addition, the staff (or the owner) of the motel is extremely approachable and honest, she almost forgot to take the bond for check-in. Also, the grounds is strictly supervised by the staff; I overheard the guests were warned by the staff to maintain their voice level and clear the rubbish in the carpark at night. I'd like to spend another holiday with Bella Vista Fox Glacier Motel again.

Friendly staff and clean rooms”
After a long drive from Wanaka, all we need is a friendly face and clean room to rest, and Bella Vista Fox Glacier Motel has it all. Despite is the quieter sister to Frank Josef, you get to enjoy the serene and beautiful sunset sky. The bar nearby is recommended too.

Good location, and a very basic room”
hotel is in the fox glacier, within 5 minute walk to the fox glacier office, so we could wake up 30minutes before the glacier tour. it was a very small town, so eateries were limited, and there was one petrol station. the motel supplies were basic, but adequate, and it was clean. no lifts in the motel, & there are 2 floors, so if you're upstairs, prepare for lifting your luggage up.

the room was very very clean but is on the smallish side. It also has good heating, which came in handy as you can get very wet in the Fox Valley and after a day on the glacier as it rains 2 days out of 3! Being right across the road from Fox Guiding, it was very easy to just grab breakfast at the Hobnail cafe and go on your glacier hike with the company. No need to worry about parking or getting up early etc. The people that run the motel are very friendly but you need to remember that check out is at 10am. We assumed it was the standard 12pm and were a little late but the mix up was cleared up with minimal hassle.

Great Location and Good Service”
The room is compact with everything that we need, especially heated blanket, which was a gift during winter. Location is great. But agaiin, Fox Glacier is a super small town and everywhere you go is within walking distance. Bella Vista is just less than 5 minutes walk away from the Fox Glacier Guiding and a small supermarket can be found nearby.

Decent motel with helpful staff”
great bed, decent motel room, very helpful staff. both the motel and the location (fox glacier) grow on you each day. i would stay here again. there are not many options for a mid range accommodation at fox so it did feel that this motel was a bit overpriced, even with agoda discount. please be aware that free internet comes with restrictions (you get 50 mb per day which disappear very quickly is you use ipad and alike).

the motel we stay in fox glacier was new and clean, it is goood for couple like ourselves. we tried bella vista for few destination, and noticed that the design of all bella vista is about the same concept, the reason we chose bella vista is due to the price is competitive.

Clean and up-to-date”
This new-seeming motel is just far enough off the highway that the light traffic of the March season had no impact on our experience. Room was clean and well stocked. Fox Glacier is a much smaller town than Franz Josef, so if you are traveling from the north and have any shopping needs, you might want to take care of them before leaving FJ.

A welcome break from the campervan”
After a week in a campervan we decided we needed a break. We also wanted to catch a helicopter onto the Fox Glacier, and the place that runs the tours is a 4min walk from this Motel. We stayed 2 nights as the rain appeared in the afternoon (after a great trip to the Glacier that morning). The women who runs the motel (it appears on her own!) was very helpful. There are some great restaurants just nearby, and she was happy for us to leave our (small) campervan in the car-park until we wanted to leave later the following day. I would definitely recommend this motel if you are looking for good value accommodation.

Motel located in town, and is walking distance to food, mart, and fox glacier guiding. Great place to stay for the night if you are heading out early the next day for glacier tours, hikes etc. Room is spacious and good wifi signals and parking is right infront of the unit

Helpful Host ”
Room is very well-maintained. Toilets are superbly cleaned. Kitchen is well-equipped The hosts are very friendly and approachable. They have helped recommended on the helicopter rides, a short trail for us to take our 3 year old son, helped with the laundry, etc. Fox Glacier is a small town so everything is within walking distance. Lake Matheson (must visit) is a short 5 mins drive from the hotel.

Great location and clean”
We stayed here one might and it was comfortable. You could walk to everywhere in town. The staff was friendly and recommended a place for dinner. Close to the Fox Glacier guide shop and we were able to leave our parked car even after we had checked out. There was limited free Internet but we weren't expecting any Internet so that was nice! The heaters in the room were good. There was a kettle and dished provided and a mini fridge. I have no complaints about this place!

Centrally located”
We stayed here 2 nights because it is close to Fox Glacier Guiding. The room was ran and adequate. Laundry facilities are available on site for a fee. You get 100 MB of Internet per night for free but that didn't last for me as I had work emails to go thru. You can buy more time. The hotel is centrally located in this very small town so you can walk to restaurants and bars.

Staff are very helpful”
Not bad, value for money. Rooms are comfortable. I initially booked a “high floor” room but found out there is no elevator, hence requested a ground floor room during Check-in, reception quickly changed for us. Also, reception let us know what to do in Fox Glacier and asked where is our next destination, she gave us a paper introducing what to along the way to the next destination.

Comfortable and well maintain room”
We went for fox glacier half day climbing tour and we were exhausted. The hotel is just opposite the tour company and we can get back to room quickly. The room is big, clean and comfortable. The utilities in the room are all new and well maintained. Had a wonderful night here.

Clean and convenience place”
The motel is at a very short distance from Fox Glacier Guide center. The room is clean and has everything necessary for travelers. The service is excellent. The motel provides with free internet access. Our room is quite small but, as you know, you get what you pay for. The receptionist is very helpful to us when asked. It is worth every dollar you pay for.
