Fort Lauderdale (FL) hotels & places to stay

Ocean Beach Club is a very nice hotel. It very clean and updated in a great location, just across the highway on the beach. It located just south of Lauderdale-By-The Sea on Ocean Beach Blvd. Easy walking to stores, grocery stores and about a mile from all the great restaurants at Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. They have a shuttle that is available for transportation to a private beach that is shared with another hotel. Hotel staff were very nice. I was not impressed with the quality of the food in the shared restaurant with their sister hotel. Luckily there were better options nearby.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this hotel. The pictures looked nice, but we got such a good rate that I was sure it was too good to be true. To my surprise, the pictures were an accurate depiction of the hotel. We only spent one night as this was just a stop to on our way to the airport after a weekend in Key West. During our stay we had cocktails and dinner at the pool bar which was delicious, we swam in the pool, walked on the beach and hung out at Octopus for a glass of wine and a late night snack (our friends ordered a burger to split and it was EXCELLENT). My only minor disappointment was that they had a foozball and a shuffle board table at Octopus but neither were in very good shape. The hotel is unique and stylish and the beach room we stayed in was very large and comfortable with a huge tv. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The area is quiet and clean and great for anyone looking to relax away from the nightlife of Ft Lauderdale. We hope to return

Historic hotel complex right in the heart of Fort Lauderdale on Los Olas Blvd....booked The Riverside Hotel for exactly that reason and was not disappointed in the least. All kinds of unique shops and restaurants in every direction.........you can't go wrong at all.......just get out and walk and enjoy everything Los Olas has to offer. The Riverside Hotel was well appointed........rooms were fairly large......very clean and quite quiet.....good sound proofing. As soon as you step foot in the door, and actually even before you are greeted and treated royally.....luggage was taken care of and put into storage as our cruise ship arrived early and we got to the hotel around 10AM so that allowed us the freedom to explore until our room was ready. I'd definitely stay again and would also tell anyone going to Fort Lauderdale that this is the place you should really consider in staying at. Cab ride to hotel from cruise port was about $16 and to the airport from the hotel was around $19.

Hotels near the beach were so expensive. But this place was affordable and gave us pleasant experiences. We arrived at the airport around 10 pm but within 20 minutes the shuttle was coming to pick up. Just call them at the airport. Complimentary breakfast from 6-10 am was more than expected though they didn’t have fresh vegetables. Bedding was comfortable and pool area was clean and not crowded. A small shopping center is right next door. You can purchase a wide variety of food and daily items at the dollar tree. On the first floor you can get coffee, hot water, tea every time. The front desk staff might be not kind sometimes. We used uber or lyft to the beach, which took 8 minutes and 10 usd. The furniture is a bit old but still good!

WEll presented Best Western Hotel - fresh modern feel. Hotels in Fort Lauderdale are expensive, especially by the beach. This is a great option if you are on a tighter budget. Good facilities, 2 mins to the beach, pleasant walk to Olas Boulevard and the beach front vibes further along towards the more expensive resort hotels. Breakfast was substantial and varied. I booked for a group and everyone said they thought the hotel was great, good value and would choose again! The staff were always smiling and pleasant with a good helpful attitude.

The room allocated to us was within the grounds of the hotel and some distance from the main building. On entry, we were whisked back to 1963; JFK was still President and this room was new! Unfortunately, it is not 1963 (and these fellows have that clown Trump instead). The room was ok if not tired, but the bathroom didn't seem to have been touched since the day the Hotel opened. The sink was cracked right down the middle with a series of further chips to enhance its unsuitability. Pretty unhygienic tbh. Disappointed. I did receive a $50 reduction on my incidentals bill when I mentioned my issues on checking out. A nice touch, but I would rather have had a good, clean, recently refurbished room with up-to-date facilities. Especially when I had paid £250!

My husband and I stayed here for a short 4 day trip recently. The hotel is incredibly clean and in a great location. It's right on the beach and within walking distance to everything we needed. There is a Winn Dixie for any groceries you may need, a McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts, and a great pizza place nearby as well. We walked to Lauderdale by the Sea one evening which is a little more than 3/4 miles from the hotel. There are plenty of restaurants and shops there to stroll through. The staff was friendly and the workout facility was perfect for us. We had a great time!

The stay was enjoyable from 11/18-11/23but they hotel needs to train staff how to notify and enter a guest room. My family and I were in a one bedroom suite. We had a kitchenette so I decided to make breakfast the Saturday of the trip. While I was cooking the breakfast sausage, the smoke detector came on. A gentleman did not identify himself informed us that the smoke detector triggered the alarm. My husband told we were making breakfast. A few minutes later the same man and a another man came to the door did not identify themselves, did not address us. They went to the smoke detector snd checked it. At this point I asked is there a problem. They said the detector triggered the alarm. My issue is you don’t just barge into someone”s room without stating your position and from the first inquiry it was discovered we were just making breakfast. I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to spoil our vacation.

I would love to be back again this hotel if next time I'm coming back to Fort Lauderdale for my other cruise trip. The hotel is lovely with big room, very convenient, near lots of restaurants. I still remember we ate at the cafe calleed H2O and my husband loves the food so much. One thing I really like about the hotel is their fast check-out system. Professional!!!!!!!!!

We have been here approximately 6 times pre-cruise and have been very satisfied with everything. The porter, Henry, has been a large part of our satisfaction with the hotel. He is always so friendly and helpful making sure we get to our shuttle in time in the morning. This is a great hotel to stay in for cruising from either Fort Lauderdale or Miami. We would be happy to recommend it to friends and family.

After reading reviews I was nervous about booking here, but the experience was great! It is right across from the beach (just like every other hotel) due to the street in front of the beach. The staff was amazing! They let us check in 4 hours early and also held our things after checkout on the last day. There are plenty of restaurants within a mile. Downtown is only a few miles away and an Uber is cheap. The location is great. The bathroom was small, but there was a giant mirror in the room so getting ready was not difficult at all. The Deck is right outside and breakfast is great and affordable. If you are expecting a balcony with a great view, this is probably not the place for you, but if you are someone that is wanting to spend time on the beach and out and about, it is great.

I have travelled throughout the world and have stayed at very many Exclusive hotels This one "takes the cake" for the worst Cold breakfast buffet eggs, bacon, and sausage Poor selection of fresh fruit The pancakes were like LEAD The happy hour was a joke only two people on the bar Lineups practically right out into the hallway Popcorn, potato, and nacho chips Raw veggies with Thousand Island Dressing YUK YUK Unreliable housekeeping Had to request clean glasses Had to get clean face cloths from the housekeeping carts I was there for seven nights My room was cleaned three times No in-room safe Had to request an ironing board The Iron in the room was useless No help with luggage Slow elevators Lousy Chardonnay at the bar The only that was wonderful was the Fort Lauderdale weather Also, they describe the hotel as being at the beach It is at least 2 miles from the beach I gave all this info to the front desk and told them to pass it along to the manager I never heard from the manager

This was our first time to Fort Lauderdale and I booked at B ocean because it had the only hotel with the private beach. The hotel is modern and clean. We stayed in the king ocean view with balcony, smaller room than I expected but it was very chic and housekeeping kept it very clean. The views of the sunrise were amazing. The restaurants were OK we did most of our eating down Las Olas Boulevard or Fort Lauderdale beach. One of the best things was being able to use the bicycles; in the morning we’d ride down the boardwalk for breakfast. The beach was nice, the water beautiful. We basically sat near the main pool the entire time, it’s small but kept you cool. My only complaint about the pool was the music is terrible and they don’t start opening up the towel station until after 10 AM. Overall for the money I would recommend this hotel

I had stayed at this hotel one time before, several years back before the so-called renovation. My room was far from renovated. Issues included: but for one lamp, the other lights in the room were operable; paint chipping off the wall; holes in the walls and in the door to the room; the door was actually missing a door frame almost as if someone had kicked the door in; it was advertised as having a balcony with furniture, the furniture consisted of one chair that was broken; the room didn’t have so much as a small coffee maker nor even an ironing board. There’s a reason that average beach side hotels in Fort Lauderdale go for 400++ dollars a night. . And this hotel rates are much lower. You get what you pay for. I certainly cannot recommend this hotel.

Comfort Suites is a comfortable, clean airport hotel with a reliable pick-up and dropoff service. The staff was kind and helpful! We were not too far from Flamingo Gardens, a wildlife sanctuary, that we wanted to check out. And, it took us about 30 minutes to drive to visit friends living near the beach. But, we didn't mind the distance. Our comfortable, affordable hotel choice helped make it a fun Fort Lauderdale getaway!
