"Chateau is nto a 5 stars hotel, but definitely a hidden jewel in Gold Coast which have given us a lot of surprises. The hotel is cleam & simple enough to meet your daily requirements. Nothing can beat a super seaview room sitting right infront of the beach, which makes me relax at night & eager to wake up next morning enjoying the lovely seaview, listening to the waves & feeling the sea breeze. The location is super. Famous Surfer Paradise is right infront the moment you step out. LV, Rolex, etc. are located next to it. Famous nightlife Orchard Avenue is sitting right behind. 5 mins walk to major shopping center Centro with varieties of restaurants & bars. Supermarket is 5 mins walk as well. Beachside night market on every Wed, Fri & Sun is right infront. All major city attractions like Skypoint, Infinity, Jetboat, Ripley, 7D cinemas are all locating nearby. Bus access is 2 block behind. All these show how Chateau is strategically located. The self-claimed best buffet breakfast is not up to the standard, but the 2 cafes across the road are well aclaimed for their food quality & coffees. The most important is all these come with a reasonable price. I won't say is chear, btu with all these features, what else to complain. "

"I stayed here for a long weekend recently and was pleasantly surprised - after traveling to the Gold Coast many times. The service was superb, offering free wifi, paper delivery and even late check out. The rooms were well presented with a fully stocked mini bar and snacks. The view was breathtaking. There are many newer and swankier placed popping up all over the Gold Coast now (and I have stayed in a few of them) but I will be going back to Crowne Plaza without hesitation. Great value for money!!"

"This was a great place to stay in Gold Coast. The check in & check out were a breeze: very efficient! People at desk very helpful, security was very good & place was spacious & clean ( first time I was surprised the actual rooms were bigger than they looked in the pictures ) ! The mini apartment is well kept, better than the elevator or the corridor. Garage was secure & very handy. The beach is just a short walk distant. "

Local Culture and Etiquette in Gold Coast

Understanding the local culture and etiquette in Gold Coast can enhance your travel experience and help you connect with the community. Australians are known for their friendly and laid-back attitude, so don’t be surprised if locals greet you with a smile and a casual “G’day.” When interacting with locals, it’s important to be polite and respectful, as this fosters positive exchanges.

When dining out, tipping is not mandatory in Australia, but it is appreciated for exceptional service. A small tip of around 10% is common in restaurants, and rounding up your bill is also a nice gesture. Additionally, dress codes vary depending on the venue; while beach attire is acceptable in casual settings, upscale restaurants and clubs may require smarter attire.

Participating in local events and festivals is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the culture. Engaging with community activities not only provides insight into local customs but also creates opportunities to meet new people. By embracing the local culture and etiquette, visitors can enjoy a more enriching experience in beautiful Gold Coast.
