"The hometown is a cozy, cluttered little place that is easy to find on the main drag. I had booked a single room with a shared bathroom, but out of consideration for me, apparently because the private room was on the upper floors, and there is no elevator, she put me into a bunk bed room on the second floor. I was the only one in the room, a convenience I much appreciated... It being a Hostel, they ask you to take your shoes off when you walk within the interior. The problem with that if you are in stocking feet, is that the floors and staircase are lacquered, so they are slippery. If the steps were wider it would be better, but, just hold on to the railing... The air conditioning works very well, and the bunk beds were not bunk bed size, they were much wider. Each bunk has it's own light and privacy curtain. I had no problem sleeping. Wi-Fi was excellent. The free breakfast is a joke. It consists of white bread toast, instant coffee, and/or bananas. I passed. Plan on eating out... "

"We stayed for four nights at the resort. The villa was very clean and comfortable, set in pleasant gardens. Breakfast was taken next to the river each morning, where it was also possible to enjoy a drink. There was a large restaurant next to the resort. Although about a kilometre from the town of Samut Songkhram, tuk-tuks were easily available so transport was not a problem. Despite this, the people from the hotel drove us into town on two occasions. All in all, a pleasant stay in an attractive location."
