Surat Thani hotels & accommodations

This was our first time in Surat Thani, on our way to Koh Samui. The hotel is situated a bit on the outskirts of the city, but still in an area with lots of shops and restaurants. Most of the restaurants open late afternoon and are very reasonble priced, offer delicious Thai food. The hotel itself has a nice lobby, the check-in goes smooth, staff are very friendly and ...

After having a disappointing stay in a hotel in Koh Phangan rated 3 stars I was expecting worse. The hotel is simple but clean and it has good taste. The staff is very kind and helpful. It doesn't offer much but what they give you is top class. Good towels and a clean room. You won't get free coffee and tea, just the two bottles of water you get everywhere in Thailand....

We were on a road trip from Malaysia all the way to Chiang Rai. Suratthani (S Tara) was a stop by for us to put up a night. We booked this room purely based on reviews on Agoda and the room was very cheap! We werent expecting much for the price we paid but we were SURPRISED when we arrived. We reached the hotel at midnight (1am) and the staff actually came out and ...

We stayed only one night on our way to Koh Samui. The hotel is located 70km away from Racha ferry terminal but we were already very exhausted driving for 10 hrs from Bangkok by the time we got there and needed to rest. The hotel is tucked in a little alley but not that difficult as there is Tesco Lotus on the other side of the road. The hotel is super clean and the ...

Opened about 1 year ago very new clean place. Quality bedding, sheets etc. Spacious rooms plenty of parking. We had a room with 2 doubles to accomadate our family but the price only included 2 Adults so they charged us an extra ฿370 for our nanny which included breakfast. When we called down for an extra pillow they wanted an additional ฿50 for that. They said the brea...

This hotel has a beautiful lobby and are baggage was quickly attended to by porters once we exited ghe cab. The front desk expected us and had our reservation ready to go (the first time this has happened in 4 weeks if travelling). Check in was smooth though we had to pay extra for my breakfast since our occupancy was booked for only 1,not 2 on their system. The ro...

This camp is just gorgeous. Set amidst lush forest, with spectacular views across the mountains, a perfect getaway to relax in tranquil surrounds. We stayed here for 2 (actually 3- including an overnight trip away) nights and loved the atmosphere, the incredible, friendly and attentive staff, and the delicious, very reasonably priced food. There was one slight hiccup...

Pros: this is a very new hotel with clean modern rooms and facilities Pool was very nice and clean Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection Very nicely stocked and priced vending machine for drinks and snacks Hotel offers ticket service and hotel pickup for both ferry lines going to Koh Samui koh, koh phangnan, Koh Tao Bicycles availab...

Stay here for 1 night while in transit for morning flight. Can’t review so much as I reach the hotel in late evening from Samui. Well, this hotel is newly refurbished house link house turn to hotel. As for transit, I’m happy with the room condition. Can’t expect too much from the amount I paid. I didn’t stay that long also as I left the room in the early morning befor...

This hotel is located in center of Suratthani downtown with reasonable price (690/Night/2Persons). Has a lot of car parking lot Surround with fresh market restuarant and business centers Nice staff Room is large (40-50 sqm) ,new, clean but the bed is not soft and pillow is quite too high. My Score 8.5/10

I booked 4 rooms for 8ppl and it's pretty much private because it's the long pool that join all the room together just like in the picture except the real view are much more beautiful. We were so tired and wet from the waterfall we have visited before checked in and they greet us very nice and very quick for checking in. It's a new, small hotel with the enormous view! ...

This hotel is clean and has the boutique look. The restaurant served good food in the evening, but the lack of real coffee in the morning was disappointing, since we find the imitation coffee powder served in many budget places in Thailand to be inedible. But for the budget price, we cannot really complain about something like that. We just walked outside to the Ama...

I booked the Lagoon rooms for two nights, on our arrival the staff had made some mistakes in reservations, we ended up having a free upgrade to the Suite for first night, and Deluxe room for second night. The Suite was clean and beautiful, but the small balcony didn't offer a nice view - facing a vacant land (the unpleasant smell from the pond was strong too). There we...

very good location hotel in suratthani city,we can go everywhere by local bus.room is very comfortable and well decoration,we are really enjoyed food around the hotel, just 2-3 minuites walking, the price of this hotel is very cheap and reasonable, staff is very good english and ready to serve all customer, there is a small cafe shop in our hotel.if we have a chance to go ...

Amazing location, and amazing view. We've had a lovely time there. Staffs were very friendly. A bit hot during the day and afternoon. They started to provide air-con from 7 pm. But you can soak yourself into the water if you don't mind of getting very tan, and a fan in-room provided. The down side of this place is the transfer. It's very expensive. They don't provid...

This was one of the most amazing places we visited in Thailand--absolutely stunning! And it was wonderful to walk 8 steps out our doors and into the lake. Panvaree staff don't speak much English, but they were very friendly and tried to be helpful. There were some odd "misses" like limited food and beverages, hard beds, and too few deck chairs, but it was more than wor...

I was really miffed that this hotel list itself as city center, and location location! It is a 6.5 km taxi ride to the city center and bus station. I booked "city center" to be able to catch a early morning bus. They are perpetrating seriously false advertising. Otherwise it was a very pleasant stay and the staff were very cordial. It was surprising that a hotel cateri...

We stayed at the resort for couple nights. The cabins are greatly designed very simple with all you need in it. The rooms are extremely clean. The surrounding by the river is simply stunning. It’s a pleasure to just be there. The whole place is very nicely designed with lights at night and well maintained garden. We had a problem with checking in, very limited possib...

We had the best 2.5 days there. Felt like home because of the friendly staff. We went on some great trips. And the rain just made a break from pouring down while we went on the lake and the half day canoe trip. Our old uncle feel on the boat and needed medic assistance. They took very good care of him. The only bad thing about the hotel was that the food was lack...

I had to stay one night in Suratthani to catch the morning flight. I glad that I choose this hotel, the room is big, neat, and clean, and the staff also helpful. My room was facing to the main street, even though I am a light sleeper but I still could sleep well. I am highly recommend this hotel!

It's the second time I've been to Suratthani. I've stayed here both times because it's a new hotel. It's very clean and it's tucked away off the main road. The rooms are spacious enough, the air cond is nice and cold, the bed is coomfy and the bathroom is very good. There is also a balcony with an out door sink that's very good if you want to make a fruit salad or som...

We booked a room here 2 hours before showing up - we needed a room before a trip out on Cheow Lan Lake the next day. Our bungalow was not fancy, but it was comfy and clean - good strong AC, hot water in the shower, and a comfy bed. There were a couple of bugs and a gecko, but you're at the edge of the jungle, so this didn't surprise me. Breakfast in the morning was sim...
Cheap places to stay in Surat Thani

Great hotel: clean, modern and confortable. Friendly owner, breakfast included which is amazing for the price of the hotel. Only drawback is that the place is a bit in the middle of nowhere, so unless you have a car/taxi you are a little stuck there in the evening (we are traveling by bicycle... the hotel offers dinner too though)

Everything was excellent except bad smell inside elevator. Inside is perfect clean and modern. There is also free water, hot water, coffee , tea and last two day was bananas. Good location. Near port, bus station, night market, green market and food fest.

Our hosts could not have been more kind and welcoming. She really made us feel like a welcomed guest/family. Comfortable private room. A/C and Wifi worked very well. The nearby restaurant that is owned by the host's auntie is some of the best Thai food we had during our month of travel. Highly recommend! Only 2 mins from airport as well :) Can't beat it.

after reading all the recommendations,i decided that i need to book this hotel.sibce i'll be arriving late at night at suratthani train station.it is just 5 minutes walking distance from the train station.you'll see 7-eleven on you left side just after you wqlk out from the train station. the hotel is just on the opposite side of 7-eleven. the hotel staff are really h...

First I had to stay at the suratthani airport hostel for my flight but when I left I wanted to stay longer because I had very friendly and helpful people who satisfy all kinds of my needs, room and toilet are clean with warm water for shower, air conditioner, free airport transfer, offered water coffee and other stuff...basically all you need for a pleasant stay!

Clean room, good AC, lovely staff, free breakfast and free airport transfer! If you are coming from Ko Samui, take a bus to the airport and from there, a taxi to Innkhunhouse. A taxi from the city is expensive. This place is on a highway outside of the city. It's pretty much only used for people in transit from and to the airport. If you're using Maps.me to find this p...

Surat Thani is no tourist hotspot which was good as it provided a true Thai experience.. The hostess was incredibly helpful and happy to have us. The room was satisfactory with the bed being pretty uncomfortable but for the cost you can't really complain. Good if you need a place for a night or two

We had no problems here. It's a simple hotel but it was clean and cheap. The staff didn't speak much English but they were very helpful. The owner walked to the street with us to get the bus and told the bus driver where we wanted to be dropped off at (an office for a ferry to the islands wasn't far).

We have been traveling SEA for over a year and this is by far the best value for money. We loved these modern rooms so much we extended for another week in a town not known for much except as a stopover on the way to the Islands. . But the amazing young family showed us great quality local life by taking us on food tours at the local markets eating at the best places...

The owner Mrs. Ball in the Serene Guest House made our stay in Suratthani for a week very memorable. Mrs Ball is so friendly and helpful with great service. She helps us to book for minibus with tour and everything with a very good price. They are knowledgeable about what to do and what to see in Suratthani and nothing is too much for them to organise. We booked ...

First of all, the rooms wasn't ready when we got there. There were no toiletries, no tv nor hot and cold shower. The l Manager kept on telling us that the breakfast was free. When we saw the food there was nothing grand with a few toast and coffee.

had to stay 1 night for next day's flight at suratthani, and this hotel is quite affordable including basic breakfast. when the airport van driver didn't come to pick me up in the morning, a staff called them and arranged new taxi from them. very nice money valued.

this hotel was absolutely perfect considering the price. really nice lady greeted us and showed us to our room which well exceeded our expectations. there are 4 rooms in what appears to be a house converted into a cozy and spotless hotel. highly recommend this place. the quality of the room was much nicer than the hotel we stayed at the previous night in chumphon which...

My stay was great the room was a closed shower stall, plenty of lighting and outlets. Also a very good bed. I would definitely stay were again. The only problem is it has no sign in English so difficult to find if you don't read Thai. The picture on Agoda is of the accommodation, well off the highway.

This is one of the best places I’ve stayed in, in Thailand for the price. Staff are super friendly, room impeccable and there’s also a little balcony. Coffee, toast & bananas available in the morning I’d certainly stay here again when I’m in Suratthani

Hotel was the cleanest we've seen seen in Thailand. Basic room but had everything we needed. Owner (Jc) generously drove us to dinner (as there's not much option for food close by) he was cheerful and friendly and made us feel welcome. Free airport pick up and drop off was a really nice addition. We highly recommend this hotel for a stop-over to or from the airport. W...

we used this hotel as a base to stay in surant thani before flying out of the airport. the hotel is mainly used by thai's but in terms of quality of rooms it was more than adequate for our stay. due to the location being outside of surat thani town we ate dinner which was very good but be careful this is authentic thai food so is extremely hot (no punches held!)....

One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. I stay in many 5 star luxury hotels in the world but honestly the service and the overall experience. Perfect location, 10 mins away from the center. The hotel room is really clean, staff very friendly and helpful. I will be returning for sure!!!!!

Real reviews for hotels
A simple town not polluted by the commercials yet. You hardly meet any Thai people who can speak English.
Surat Thani is very much a stop over city. Especially for vegetarians, it is a bit difficult to find food here.
It is ideal place for stopover to koh samui as it is near to the Surat thani airport which has direct cheap flight from Malaysia Kl to Surat thani via airasia.
Average size city, busy during the day, relaxed at night. Small mall downtown, bug mall just outside town limits.
We stayed in Surat Thani purely because we had to catch a train from here at 1am in the morning on our way to Malaysia.
Not a city with abounding in attractions but with local knowledge or reading up, there is enough to interest for two or three days.
being the largest province of the South Thailand, this place has been well know among the travelers for transiting to Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao, and the Mu Koh Ang Thong Marine National Park.
The province which you can stop for relax before go the other place or stay for 3-4 days for walking at night market, beach, eat out, canoeing, and others
There's a train bound to Bangkok from this city, unlike other places where you can only take the bus or the plane.
Kind of small city, not much to see. Nice place to stay for a night or two on a pass through. A couple monuments and temples around the city to see.
Mainly a 1-2 night stop over point for tourists heading to Koh Samui. Not really a whole lot to do here.
I was stay at the hotel just for short time but it was the second time for me because i really enjoy the stay there.
Not so many activity can be done at this town. There's Central Plaza but located bit far from town. There's no public transport after 9.
Very nice city. Many local places to eat. Many local places to buy anything you're looking for. Several modes of transportation available.
Typical city but with enough sights and facilities to be worth a touring visit. As a regular visitor, it serves all my needs.
The whole place is has been used as a stop for people traveling to the near by islands. If you have time and can avoid this place it would be recommended to either go to Krabi town or Ao Nang.
This town is quite unfriendly. I suggest only staying here to get to and from your ultimate destination.
Nothing spectacular, large city with some beautiful temples, good shopping malls, local shopping at reasonable prices and a high quality hospital.
This province is very famous for salted eggs ( Thai food). You must try. I really like it but have to eat with rice.
friendly people and most Thais speak and understand English. Visit the night market which is just 5 minutes away from the My Place Hotel.
You must try the seafood at the restaurant named Lumpoo 3, and the local Thai food at the restaurant named Lucky.
Suratthani is a rural area , not many attractive place to go, but the night market there have a lot of nice food.
It is a dead city and not much is going on, but lays between Dong ferry from Koh samui and suratthani airport, so located well for an overnight stay.
The night market at the city center got various choice of local Thailand food worth trying. The foods was great and the items that sells there are consider value for money.
If you need a stop over for the night. That is all. This place is not the kind of place where you can see good Thai politeness and hospitality.
can have a short trip at this place. I suggest visit oysters farm there and have an oysters lunch too.
Not much here for tourists. They are known for their foods, but this will probably be lost on anyone who hasn't been in Thailand very long to appreciate the nuances.
clean quiet city. Surprisingly shops close at 9pm to 9.30pm sharp. Lack of night activity. Night market is pretty quiet.
Quite a large city. Was only there 1 night and had some drinks around night market and food nearby but not sure I ever found the actual 'heart' of the city in terms of bars, pubs, etc Usually a stop off point for going elsewhere in Southern Thailand like the islands but a pleasant enough place to spend a day or two Head to the night market near the nightboar pier for cheap food and drinks
