Where to stay in Udon Thani
Udon Thani hotels & accommodations

I hand a good 2 day stay at the centara hotel in Udon Thani. Hotel was spotless, although ever so slightly dated. Pool area on 5th floor was small and pool was rather shallow (waist high), Also on same floor was a massage/spa area and gym. Live band was on both nights of my stay and bar area was fine. Next door is the most modern building.in Udon. The Central Plaza sh...

We have stayed at the Brown House a few times now and keep coming back due to it's overall value. Prior to finding the Brown House, we have stayed in many of the hotels in Udon Thani city center. While not in downtown, it is a short Tuk Tuk drive away. We like the fact it is a bit further away because of the lack of noise. With what we believe is the best hotel poo...

Love everything about this boutique hotel. Great location in central city. Stayed with my wife, which we live in Northen Thailand and frequently stay in Udon Thani. This is our choice of hotels to stay in Udon Thani for many reasons. I'm American and my wife is Thai and can both find great selections of international cuisine. We are always looking forward to coming ba...

In December I had a very pleasant stay for 4 days at the Pannarai Hotel in Udon Thani. This is a lovely hotel, clean, very comfortable rooms with great bathroom (maybe hot water in the wash basin could be considered?), in room safe, robes, comfortable bed, free water, plenty of TV channels for all. Breakfast is very good, wholesome and hot, with a good choice of Orie...

we really enjoyed our stay here , the hotel is new and the rooms are all very modern . the service was great and handled every request perfectly . they even offer free pick-up and free transfer to the air port . the hotel has a really nice rooftop restaurant that has a great view of the river . the room had a nice flat screen tv , coffee/tea maker , hair dryer a...

Our family lives in Khon Kaen, Thailand now, but for six years we lived in Udon Thani. We enjoy traveling back to see friends, go shopping, and to attend UTBC events. Whenever we travel there we stay at the B2 Udon Thani Boutique and Budget Hotel. The price is amazing for what you get. We love the presidential suite in which our daughters can have their own room,...

Professional staffs, Clean, new rooms, location, price. I think they have 2 branches in Udon Thani and the other one is even better. I though the price was too cheap but when i looked closely to udon thani hotels are usually in a good condition with a very good price. Hope asian people dont make the price go up again because i think udon thani is famous for western ...

What made my stay the best was i never felt uncomfortable, as with anywhere in Thailand, every hotel as it's own uniqueness, but the Charoen is in a class all itself, there was not a need or want that they could not handle or take care of. The only thing that i feel would be of benefit would be a shuttle to certain parts of the city due to their locale, being in udon ...

This hotel is your best choice in Udon Thani town. It is very new and the rooms are nicely decorated. The location is right behind the Central Dep Store, and in the main nightlife area. Perfect stay for the value! I can always recommend and will also chose this hotel again.

We were extremely happy in this hotel there doesn't seem to be many good hotels in Udon Thani this is the exception The Breakfast were very Thai the same as all the hotels we have stayed in in this area The rooms were big and bright and clean we just loved the place and are still talking about it as one of our hi lights of this trip We were there for Son Krahn I am...

My first time in Udon Thani, I wasn't sure what to expect. After taking the taxi ride from the airport to the hotel, I was pleasantly reassured once I checked into my room at @Home. The staff was friendly and very helpful in answering my questions about the surrounding area. The hotel is situated in an area with many beer bars and cafés. You are also just steps away ...

Being a young a family it was important to stay at a hotel that was clean, friendly and fun and this hotel ticked all the boxes. Staff and security were super friendly and helpful, we really felt happy and comfortable at this location. The hotel rooms were very large, modern and clean. I've never stayed at hotel at this price with such a large, clean and organized ho...

From the moment we were driven into the hotel entrance, we could sense something special about this hotel in Udon Thani. The check in staff were very efficient and helpful, and the bell captain and his staff were fabulous. The room was very well appointed and had a good sized bathroom, seating, and a comfortable bed. There was ample hanging space and a security safe wit...

One of the nicest hotels that I have stayed in especially as it is a small independant. The room and bathroom are finished off and decorated beautifully and the bed and bedding is so comfy you dont want to get up in the morning. Excellent breakfast and what they have done with the roofspace is incredible, a lovely swimming pool complete with safe kiddies area, and the ...

The hotel seemed to be newly built, so facilities and furnishings are all brand new. It is definitely one of the most value-for-money hotel in Udon Thani, comes with breakfast as well. However, the downside is that this hotel is located away from the bustling side of the city and you definitely need to have your own transport to get to places as there wasn't any sign o...

My wife and I stayed 2 nights and found the hotel centrally located and quite easy to find. There was plenty of parking space and the staff was very helpful. The hotel is new only 6 months old. There is not a pool or gym but a good restaurant. The menu is Thai not Western but the quality of the food was excellent and good value. The breakfast is adequate and well set ...

Perfect place for a stop over in Udon Thani. We are returning customers and the Napalai always is our first choice because of the location that suits us the most. The staff always is friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We will defintely return the next time which will be this year in April.

This was a quick stay in Udon Thani before heading to Laos and thought I'd stay for a look round. The hotel was up to a good standard and can find no faults expect the reception staff could be a bit more friendly. The room I had was overlooking the road and on the Day Night Bar Plaza but was still very quiet. It had everything I needed and all worked fine. location wa...

After our stay in Mae Sot, which was very pleasant, we considered the Udon Thani property. We arrived late (advised them) and had problems in getting a parking lot and breakfast (not offered) is also challenging is the hotel is not in a dining area. Initially insisted on a passport but settled for my Thai driving license as latter was good enough to fly to Udon. Will ...

This place has met above my expectation for the price I booked at. Clean beds and facilities, with helpful staffs. Location is walkable to the central plaza (around10-15mins) with some restaurants on the way. Only minor flaw is that common area is not air conditioned and is in only space, though I guess it makes it more environmental friendly. All in all, would stay a...

Good hotel for the price. Nice rooms, friendly staff. Right on main road a few blocks from downtown, easy access to highways and the Shopping center. Biggest drawback is the bar next door with live music nightly until Midnight. If you want early nights, this may not be the place for you.

I booked 1 room with extra person ,a 9 years old child. As i saw a hotel policies that specicified child can share bed with his parent for free of charge . When i came here they wanna charge me 200 baht for extra person included breakfast. But i told them in hotel policies that we can do without charge coz our child still 9 years old and i already wrote it. So they c...
Cheap places to stay in Udon Thani

I had travelled to Udon Thani becasue of a job. The room was comfortable and the staff were friendly. The location is about 11 minutes away from the railway station and it cost me 100 baht to get there. be careful of tuk tuk drivers one charged me 300 when I firsr arrived. there are many nice restauarants within walking distance and the central plaza is a 5 minutes ri...

I am writing this review in Chiang Rai. I met a lady in the lotus lake and she recommend this hostel to me. I've never seen a hostel with a comfortable and big-size( for a hostel standard) like here. Everything here is just perfect. DIY breakfast, free mineral water and bicycles, spotlessly clean bathroom(even equipped with high-quality shampoos), helpful and fri...

This is such an amazing place!! I stayed here in a group of 3 travellers in a dorm together. Tong the owner is just the best! Helpful with letting you know what there is to do in the area and suggesting itenaries and places to visit. He also cooks the nicest breakfast which is included. The hostel itself is clean, in a good area and has bags of character. We loved our ...

This new and luxurious hostel has a unique interior. Looks very fancy and modern. Has very clean beds, shower rooms, and toilet. Also, has a small balcony and some entertain facilities. In the morning we can have small breakfast as well! And a worker was very kind even I arrived at the hostel very late at night, he tried to explain every tourist attractions which are...

If you just want somewhere to stay this must be one of the best value places in Thailand. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was comfortable and clean. They provided everything they could for a small hotel such ad hot drinks and snacks in the lobby. The location is great for town and the airport. I will certainly come here again next time I stop over in Ud...

Only stayed one night but the place is really nice with good facilities. We had a kitchen with microwave and somewhere to sit and eat. The lounge was separate with lots of space and a tv. Bedroom big and spacious with lots of room for clothes if you were staying for a couple of weeks. The only negative and it's more because my girlfriend is Thai is the lack of hot wate...

The room is so cute and no extra bed. Beside that, easy to find local food along the road. The Hotel far from night market(Fri-Sun). Near The Udon Thani Rajabhat University(200m ) and Mini Tesco. Some staff are not friendly and helpful. We must find places or Tuk Tuk by myself.

I have stayed at GM Green Resort 4 or 5 times, since it is very close to my friend's farm. In the past not all things worked well, plumbing primarily. A/C is good. Room is clean, but they do not pay attention to all the details. Staff very friendly. They seem to be repairing things that have been neglected in the past.

Udon Cabana is quiet, clean efficient and convenient. Centrally located in Udon Thani near a market area and some small shops. Convenient for one night stay between Airport/train station and either Laos or Bangkok. We stay there regulalry and we find it easy, convenient and clean! Thai beds are hard and excellent for your back!

It's a decent hotel. quite a bit off the tourist track and very peaceful. Don't be fooled by the photos however, they're specifically the deluxe rooms. the standard rooms are around the back and much smaller but it's very peaceful day/night free wifi hot shower air/con nice gardens it's great for a morning flight in Udon for following day.

I stayed for 6 nights in this hotel. The rooms are big, clean, and brand New. The staff at the reception should learn some English cause they did'nt speak one word. But I would really recommend the hotel. You need your own transport. It's far out of Town at the ringroad.

Value for money. It's still possible to find hotels at a reasonable rate if you are happy with the basics: good bed with clean sheets, warm shower, cable tv, fridge. No frills but if we're outside all day, that'really all we need. No breakfast, but Udonthani is not just any place: you can try out local breakfast in several 'famous' restaurants. Favorites are: kao piaek...

if you like always in thailand dont take the star rating to serious the rungsri is a no frills budget guesthouse rooms are clean and look well maintained with basic features.staff is very helpful and a safe and quite sleep seems certain.during my three nights stay we had one time rooms service. we arrived early at 9.00 and had to pay baht plus in order to get the room...

Very pleasant. Lovely bed in spacious room. Wonderful plush towels, hot water. Air con (not needed when I was there in December). TV with maybe 10 English channels; wifi Internet, 4/5. Fenced in balcony area. Security: onsite staff, regular key door lock. Inside: sturdy sliding bolt. Outside: can take own lock, when leaving for day. Onsite washing machine! 30 Baht for ...

Just the time for grab my phone and booked a different place in town, because after the horrible no-welcome from the lady, didn’t say anything else than “agoda”, she open my bungalow stuffed in mosquito and disappeared. The place is lost no service and no way to buy food or have a dinner. I realised just later from the taxi driver bring me to centara hotel, this place ...

Me and my girlfriend love this place, whenever we are staying in udon Thani we will come and stay here and this was our second time at surada. It's because the staff are friendly and the room is massive with a big balcony u can sit outside all night. The room has air con and you can make yourself at home using the kitchen too if u want to cook something there

I like the fact that the guesthouse is in a quiet neighborhood with nearby food stalls and local restaurants, while at the same time only a short walk to all of the action that is central Udon. The small outside sitting area with free coffee and biscuits is relaxing. Ths owners and staff are gracious.

The stay in the hotel generally is good expect that we dint get to fully utilize the facility as most of the time we were out, aside to that the place has a great view over looking the city as its location is set above the rest, would definitely stay in Napalai again if we were to visit Udon Thani again😊

The hotel is brand new which means everything is clean and works properly. The room was large and we had a lovely view of green pastures. The pool was in great condition but lacked shade in the afternoon. It is close to the airport and a short walk to a Big C where I was able buy food supplies and a cheap 200 baht kettle because the room didn't have one. The downside t...

Definitely the best hotel in Udon Thani. I made a mistake with the arrival date while booking. The staff gently sorted out my problem without any additional costs! Rare. The bedrooms are spacious and new, especially the Suite with a large bath tub. The breakfast is nice and the bar/restaurant elegant enough to relax and drink a cocktail. Not far from UD town, 7 minutes...

Plenty to see and do. Visit the night market, experience the street food and visit some temples. take a sarmlor ride around town and enjoy Udon Thani has to offer
I would say there is nothing much in the city. I fly there with Air Asia to take a bus to Laos but i had a chance to visit the red lotus lake.
From Udorn, you can drive to Nongkai City to visit, shop and try out local foods. In the evening, you can return to Udorn if you do not wish to stay in NongKhai.
A rapidly changing, vibrant, high growth Asian City of over 1 million persons. A mixture of old and very modern with Rickshaws and 3 wheel samlaws in profusion, great, very cheap street food, and very hospitable people.
UT is a great base for touring around the area. You can take day trips to see sights within 1-2 hours driving distance and theres also 2-days of sights to see in the city itself.
Udonthani has a international airport. It very easy to travel here also local food ,Veitnam food very popular here.
Very nice city, all the basics available like most all Thai cities. People are very nice and always try to help you when they can.
Sleepy little provincial city, come here if you have friends or family in the region, no other reason, except perhaps enroute to Laos from which Vientiane be be easily reached.
Very congested city in Thailand. Crazy traffic. Has plenty of shopping choices, both malls and street vendors.
Udon is a vibrant and compact city in North East Thailand and a prosperous area by local standards with many ex pats choosing to live here .
Many of the large home decor and improvements shopping outlets are out of the central area but easy enough to reach by taxi or tuktuk.
Closest biggest city to Vientiane and therefore a convenient place for Lao people to visit for shopping and food.
Udon Thani has nothing much to do in the city but you can find it good place in Thailand for good foods and cheap.
we were a group of 24 and after leaving udon thani, we had 5 of us in hospital with what we thought were little mozzie bite but ended up infections, groom is still there as he had to have his cut right open and he has to have treated every day until he can return to australia, so if intending on visiting- pack lots of good insect repellent as it was scarey seeing the infections come on so quickly and doctors in bangkok said very common in north thailand
after being in chiang mai and bangkok Udon thani is a little different, quieter city perhaps not as refined as chiang mai but people are perfectly fine and the city has alot less traffic which was great for cycling, also is quite compact and easy to get around,i quite enjoyed the place, seems to be plenty of expats around, please note most bars close at midnight so if u want to be out u will need to go out earlier! im sure plenty more to explore will be back there again.
Nice town to visit for a couple days. Several small malls to stop at, plus the big main central plaza mall.
It's a good province to spend your vacation since it's close to Nong Khai and Lao. There're many places to visit.
It has a good selection of bars if you like this sort of thing. It close to CENTRAL SHOPPING CENTRE .
As we only stayed for one night I can not comment on the nightlife or sightseeing opportunities here, but from what I did see I would say it is very much like any other thailand city, the people are friendly & helpful.
Don't miss the Terminal Bar and Grill. It is run by Sunny, previously of Sunny's Bar - now much more upmarket.
Udon is a town for retired people: It's quiet, nothing to do but all are cheap . this is for that you have so many falang retired .
Udonthani it quite like a business city and easy to com. They have so many direct flight to here every day.
Very tourist friendly, lots of shops, travel agents, restaurants, markets, massage parlours and spas, etc.
The city is a typical thai city, not that large but still has all you need for a tour and a rest. There are a number of non-thai residents who retired and enjoy the lower cost of living and still have quality of life with good hospital and transport available.
Large, sprawling THAI city in which one will find speaking some Thai very useful. The city itself needs a good cleaning and repair.
Udon City is well spread out. Getting around city could be by Walking , TUK TUK , Taxi , Public Transport (Bus) or by cycling.
It's not a huge town by any means, but it does have most of the major stores that the larger cities in Thailand have.
Udon Thani is a good place to visit from shopping and more specific activities such as conferences, medical and a day or two of relaxation.
Not have much things to travel, well Central department store might be ht egood place to walk around, however, it looks the same for the mall every part of Thailand, not good to walk around the city, very hot and sweat.
