I have a chance to stay at Amari Vang Vieng hotel 3 days 2 nights.Very impressed .The staff is polite and can give a good advice to answer all questions with willingness. Clean rooms and new .Mountain and river views are something that is very nice. Swimming pool is nice view. Breakfast is quite good. If possible I think should have a Rooftop Dinner for the evening w...

This is one of the newest hotels in Vang Vieng. It is located right on the river and has stunning views of the nearby karst formations. The rooms are comfortable and most appropriate for the non-backpacker in Vang Vieng. It is an easy walk to the central part of the city. The property has a beautiful swimming pool located in the central courtyard. The hotel staff wa...

If you are unable to do water activities in Vang Vieng (like us - half of us were sick inc my 5 yo son), then you can still do other stuff like pony riding, hot air balloon ride and seeing the sights. We spent 2 days in VV and really enjoyed this leg of our Laos trip. The hotel is in an excellent location with killer views and walking distance to the local food scene. ...

I stayed for three nights in this awesome place in Vang vieng. Kind staffs from Vietnam welcomed me. I booked a standard double room and when I visited first time there, the room had trouble about light system, so I complained the staff about the problem. They immediately changed my room to a family room with a double bed and one more single bed. Therefore, I was able ...

I read most reviews about the hotel before I departed. All claims the hotel has spectacular view. But I was wondering how come not many people booked. And some people claims the music is too loud from the restaurant next door. Well, the view is exactly what they said. Love it. Love the mountain and the river. It is the best location in Vang Vieng. Like what they sai...

This is one of the pricier places in Vang Vieng and the reason is 100% because of the amazing views. The location is across a wooden bridge on the much quieter side of the river so if you are in Vang Vieng to simply relax and enjoy nature, you can't do much better than this place. The bungalows are as clean and comfortable as possible for being in the middle of a jungl...

We are the type of travelers that are always on the search for a mid range hotel that is clean, safe, and affordable. This place fits that bill! It also has a primo location on the river with the BEST views. The staff is really friendly and can help with anything you need (bus, restaurant advice, massage, etc.) I would highly recommend this hotel in Vang Vieng.

We really appreciated our stay in Eden de Vang Vieng. Kape and his assistant were very nice and helpful. They found and organized for us suitable activities for the entire family (kids aged of 5, 11 and 12 years old) and gave us precious advises on where to go and when. The hotel is located in a rather peaceful street, away from downtown agitation. The room was clean a...

We stayed at the Vang Vieng Boutique Hotel for a week at the end of October, initially it was only for 5 days but we extended our time because we liked the area so much. Nani who is the lady who manages the hotel was the best host we’ve had during our travels through Asia. She made our stay so much more enjoyable and helped us with many things such as booking tours or...

We were a group of 3 adults in a triple room with mountain views and balcony. The view was spectacular and the 3rd floor was high enough to get above the surrounding buildings. There is no view of the river though. The staff were super friendly although their english was limited so be patient and polite and everything will be fine. The hotel is a couple of streets away...

We are very happy about our stay at the Vilayvong Hotel. Unfortunately we booked the room just for one night, we would like to stay longer, cause the view from our balcony was amazing. I think there is no better place. We were able to see the wonderful mountains with their amazing rainforrest, also the river with its wooden bridge. Even our guestroom and the bathroom ...

We unfortunately booked with another hotel in Vang Vieng first that was absolutely horrible. We ended up leaving the night we got there at 1am due to the hotel being disgusting. We walked to this hotel and had to wake up a staff member to check if they had a spare room. THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC! The staff were so friendly and helpful, they had one room left at this time...

while the rooms are adequate, they are consumite with the standard of things in vang vieng. cleanliness could not be faulted (spotless)they beds comfortable and position position. all the balcony rooms, have simply the best, unimpeded views in vang vieng. the staff are four and a half star, courteous, well trained and quick to deliver service, always with a smile. all ...

The service and help from management and staff at this resort was outstanding, we were really made to feel welcome here. The location is perfect for a quiet escape from the more touristy places in Laos. The resort was quiet when we arrived and the management arranged transport and a pickup for us. Rooms had a great view over the lake, would recommend the cruise with ...

Free pick up from Vang Vieng in front of BCEL at 10 AM or 5 PM but you need to book your room and they will send the driver. Thanks for sending us to the petrol station to wait for the bus to Vientiane. We booked bus with the resort, same price with booking in Vang Vieng downtown.

My wife and I spent a night there for my second place in Laos. Hotel location was good. Staff were friendly and so helpful. They spoke English well to us. We were advised where to go and what to do in Vang Vieng. The service price was cheap to compare other places. Breakfast was good with many options. We had a very happy time at Mountain View Riverside Botique Hot...

We spend a night here while in Vang Vieng, and cannot recommend it enough. Our only mistake was not staying longer. The owners are friendly, and are ready to help in any way they can. The resort a the perfect getaway from the touristy centre of Vang Vieng. The food was also wonderful - we had delicious local Laotian food for dinner, and a free breakfast in the morning....

This hotel a well run business. The staff is extremely attentive and professional. The facilities are extremely clean! We read reviews before coming here and someone dinged them on their breakfast. We personally loved it compared to some of the other food options around Vang Vieng. You get eggs cooked to your liking along with fresh bread, butter, jam and a grea...

This is a great place to stay. Laos is a lot quieter then other Asian cities and Vang Vieng is most interesting place in visit in Laos. The Bungalows are very basic but clean. The Bungalows is best for a booking of 3 people. I had the whole cabin to myself. I recommend this Bungalow accommodation if you're wanting a creative getaway or a chill chill environment with...

Beautiful clean and well appointed rooms with fresh linen, mosquito nets, full room service in wonderfully kept lush grounds. At south end of town giving it semi secluded feel but only 5 min walk to "centre" which is becoming dominated by concrete riverfront hotels (under construction). Location is actually adjacent to long boat landing (for trips up river) and the all...

We stayed four nights here (added one night on once we arrived which wasn’t a problem). The bungalows are great, really good size with a good bed, air con and really quite. The pool is awesome, they keep it so clean! Staff are really friendly and more than happy to help. Breakfast is included and great choice! Location is ideal, can’t get much better! Perfect place to ...

This hotel is owned by a lovely couple, and their food is the best around Vang Vieng. Food may be slightly pricer, but they have the best food in Vang Vieng. We almost had all our meals while staying in the hotel. Location is away from the rowdy crowd, and quiet enough for proper night rest. We booked our hot air balloon trip for this lovely couple, and they went all o...

We enjoyed our stay at the Thavisouk. The view from our room balcony was the best we had on this 22 hotel trip. The breakfast ok.It's a big hotel so there are lot's of tour groups coming and going but we didn't mind. I would return to the Thavisouk when next i visit vang vieng.
Cheap places to stay in Vang Vieng

I have been travelling SE Asia for a few weeks now and this is the best hostel i stayed at by far! Great location, great value for money people. helpful staff, delicious breakfast, brilliant local outings on offer and clean comfortable rooms. Wish we could have stayed longer! Definitely look no further if you’re going to be in Vang Vieng. Thanks .

Pan's Place is a great hostel for a couple nights when in Vang Vieng. It is close to everything you need including all the tour agencies. The staff was great...very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is good and you can choose from different things...they also offer lunch and such but didn't try that . Their fruit shakes were nice! The cabanas in the back were cute an...

We came from Luang Prabang when we arrived in Vang Vieng and to our surprise, the van (actually most of them) drop off right in front of Chillao Hostel. We personally chose this hostel because it was affordable and had a pool. What was a bit surprising however was that the pool was actually on the first floor, inside the gate. So swimming there actually is seen from th...

I had two nights in Vang Vieng and selpt in this cozy and budget hostel. It is just outside from downtown but within walk distance. The front desk staff was very friendly and helped me a lot. The private room was also clean. The breakfast was also good. And I could make a reservation to have one-day tour in this hostel. Next time if I visit Vang Vieng I want to stay th...

Good location, close to night market and restaurants. The place is rather quite but clean. Room was spatious enough with lockers. Bed is quite comfortable for Laos standard, with curtains. Breakfast is good (eggs or pancakes basically), served on rooftop with nice view. The shower was hot with strong pressure. Bathroom was less clean in the morning but that was due to ...

The staff here are what really make the place ! They are so so friendly and welcoming! I ended up staying five nights here !! They all new my name and greeted me like a friend everyday. The beds are by far one of the more comfier beds in Vang Vieng ! I tried out a few and was glad as to where I was staying. The place is clean and it is an excellent place to socialise a...

Booked here because i knew it was right by where the bus stops and i was arrived at 2am.The room was pretty shabby, no glass in the window and holes in the bug screen. I moved on once light. I wouldnt stay here unless you arrive late in the middle of the night and just need to crash.

Getting a private room is really a difficult and expensive thing to do in laos. But this guesthouse really dope! I got a double bed room with a price less than 15 dollars for two nights and it is really nice. Worth the money paid. Besides, they have a restaurant beside and worth give it a try. Guests from the guesthouse are also given free drinks during their breakfas...

the room was a little bit pricey for a guesthouse in vang vieng, but you get what you pay for. for per night i got a private double room with an amazing riverfront view, fan, aircon and ensuite bathroom, all of which was clean and everything worked. the room had large windows on two sides and a balcony that overlooked the river. also a great breakfast is included in th...

Room was very spacious, big bed and clean. Spent just 2 nights here but would of stayed more if they weren’t fully booked. Good location with restaurants near and short walk to Main Street. The only down side is that the electricity box kept blowing outside our room - sometimes worrying as wires kept sparking. But apart from that all good.

I stayed in Vang Vieng for 2 nights at Molina Bungalows. They are located on a road away from the water and where most of the action is, but I liked that. It was less noisy in that area, and was still very close. When I first arrived, no one was at receptions, only an older woman was sitting nearby and was distressed that I was there. She called for some neighboring ...

Its very far away from Vang Vieng town even our driver from Vientiane had trouble finding the place. The lady there cant speak a word of english and we had to use basic sign language for communication. They wanted to ask us for payment when we checked out even after i showed her agoda slip upon check in. Its far away from town area or any civilisation in fact. We pa...

Great customer service... the owner is very friendly and relax and easy going... The room is clean and very quite at night. In side the room, there are rules and regulations and that make the room very quite to relax at night... will stay again when I am back in Vang Vieng.

Absolutely loved staying at Keo Simoon - was a bit worried because the lack of reviews but we shouldn't have been. It's about 10 minutes walk max to the Main Street (where bars / restaurants are) so it's quiet but your close enough to everything. The rooms were clean, showers hot (if you don't put the pressure too high) and staff were really friendly. There was free te...

The room was small, but clean, bathroom good size with hot shower. Air con worked ok, but a bit noisy. No tv, no frig. All in all a good choice for a few nights stay, breakfast was included in room price. I would certainly stay again if in vangviang.

my husband and i really enjoyed staying at khamphone guesthouse. this guesthouse is off the main roads, on a quieter street, with a nice view of the surrounding landscape. it is a short walk (5 minutes) to nearby bike rental and trip booking shops, and to the main restaurant streets. they offer inexpensive laundry services and free coffee/tea before 10am. we found the ...

Has all necessary in room facilities and clean. Building is like a chinese built hotel sometime ago meaning using lots of wood and rather empty. No restaurant in hotel and only one within 5 minutes walking area. Because it faces the main road the rooms facing that side pick up the traffic noise. On the night i stayed an adjacent temple was broadcasting the prayer thr...

There is a story to tell about our stay at Puna Phasok. first of all it is a lovely quiet place . with lovely bungalows a few fish ponds and plenty of place to be on your own. Our booking did not go without a small adventure... Nobody in the resort had ever heard of Agoda...the owner is a lovely man,who did not place the resort on Agoda. he stayed very calm about my re...

We booked via Agoda for 4 nights hoping to have a reasonably pleasant stay however this was not the case. The room and bathroom were not clean nor in working order. The air con barely gave out a breeze and leaked most nights. The second night resulted in us staying at their sister hotel Malany Hotel as the power went out in the majority of Vang Vieng. When the powe...

I booked this hotel because most of the other good hotels were either full or too expensive. The Riverside Boutique Hotel was twice the price of my last trip so was out this time, while a reviewer claimed that the Inthira was noisy due to a nearby bar, so I chose this place. What a bad decision that would turn out to be. First impressions were a chaotic hotel with poor...

Real reviews for hotels
Undoubtedly it is the best outdoor sporting heaven in Laos. It is probably one of the last surviving peaceful environment on this planet indeed.
Is a very small rising city that is rapidly becoming a tourist destination. Don't expect too much as there are limited activities you can do here.
Its beautiful, but unfortunately its received more visitors than it can handle and has negatively impacted the culture of the area in my opinion.
blue lagoon is a nice place, we can play in clear water and the air is fresh. if you don't want to get wet, you can just relax and enjoy the view.
Van Vieng is a good size village, with restaurants and places to have a drink. It is a great place for young people with outdoor activities, kayaking, boating, walking and climbing.
Once known as the party place of Laos, Vang Vieng is trying to change its image to be more of an outdoor activities and beautiful scenery place! The mountains around the town are stunning and you can take endless pictures here! There are loads of nature/outdoor activity options for lots of different prices.
Had a good stay hired a motorbike for 3 days to see all round went to blue lagoon v good this place is for the younger set plenty of bars & music but out of town are some great scenes to see
Vang Vieng is a city with lots of outdoor activities. There is tubing or kayaking down Nam Song River, visiting cave, zip lining, waterfall, rock wall climbing and etc.
Vang Vieng is a fun town. There are quite a lot of young people - which is nice and adds to a light hearted atmosphere.
If you are under 30 and want to party and act like an disrespectful tourist - you will love this place.
Vang Vieng is like New York City, returning to this town is fueled by a love-hate relationship for most people.
Vang Vieng is a small town which is known for tubing and its water sports, however, over the years, pollution from the riverside bars may have made the river less clean than most people believe.
This is a very laid back area. Lots of bars with cheap alcohol and restaurants playing friends episodes at night.
Only place in Laos we had food poisoning. The town itself has nothing much to offer unless you're young, male tourist who wants to go wild and annoy all the other tourists who want a nice relaxing holiday.
Great village, full of things to do. Mostly visited by backpackers for parties and tubing on Nam Song river.
Small village but can be very crowded at times with backpackers. Has several places to eat, many vendors in most areas.
About 3 hours bus ride from Vientiane. Very commercial this town has become. Good to just sleep, eat, relax and watch sun down.
they rip off tourists whereever they can. u have to pay twice for crossing bridges and then additionally for a "cave", bicycle rent was expensive, food is expensive or bad quality.
It is a tourist area, in particular, for young people but many attractions are available to any traveler.
Spectacular scenery around the town - mountain backdrop, river and paddy fields. Plenty of outdoor activities to engage or just lie around enjoy the laid back town and scenery.
Many activities to do throughout the village. You can rent motobikes or bicycles from several places.
Very beautiful town. Several things to do and see, such as tubing, boat ride on the river, visiting the Blue Lagoon for swimming, and visiting the caves.
great little town with an endless supply of waterfalls, waterholes, & caves to explore and experience.
As always it is a nice get away from Vientiane. Over all the outdoors and river is nice but I would not go there unless you want to be out doors or with back packers.
Vang Vieng is no longer the nice riverside village it used to be and isn't on my top places to go in Laos, but it depends what you're after.
To explore more also save time, I suggest to rent motorbike, so can going around everywhere freely, distance between each caves can be quite far away.
Layback and lots of nature to venture and enjoy the activities such as tubing, kayaking, caving, walking, treking, cycling, boating
If you need to rent a bike or buy some groceries, please walk around the streets before making your decision.
If you like out door activities, night life, and backpackers then this is the place for you. Otherwise skip it and head straight for Luang Prabang.
Extremely beautiful place. Swimming at the blue lagoon is a must, river boat trip is great, can rent motobike for about $8 a day, many places to eat and drink, tubing down the river is a must, several shops and cafés to choose from.
