Friendly Hotel”
First time at the Grand Royal Hotel and I am very impressed with this hotel. Great service and friendly staff. Good food, but the coffee is rather strong and not to my liking. Could have more of a selection for western cuisine and the skillet should be cleaned before frying eggs. Moreover, bang for the dollar it is a great deal with breakfast included. Nice comfortable hotel located near highway”
It was a business trip, just 3 days stays, for the purpose to visit China Plastic Fair at the Guangzhou Import and Export Complex. Basically the hotel has comfortable room, good dining restaurants (both local and Japanese) at the ground floor, and attentive housekeeping staff. The hotel is located just next to the Guangzhou Province Arm Force head quarter, so.... very safe. Convenient store is just about 100 meters away. There are quite a bad traffic at the main road in front of the hotel. It is hard to get taxi (this is the main issue of the Guangzhou city) especially during raining day. Luckily the hotel is just near the highway, so it takes us less than 20 min to reach Pazhou, the Import and Export Complex.

Nice Posh Hotel”
Grand Royal Hotel is located at the Tianhe area... But its not in the heart of Tianhe.. So traveling to the centre of town is about 30 mins by taxi... Stay one night at Grand Royal.. lovely room, free wifi.. Worthly of its 5 Stars status

Fantastic Hotel with great location”
Grand royal is a 5 star service hotel with clean luxury rooms, complete with full service amenities plus great food at the restaurants. Staff is knowlegdable and efficient with their service standards. I would recommend highly for business and leisure traveller this hotel.

Great hotel with very pleasant staff”
i stayed at the grand royal for the first time last year by accident. i got the name mixed up with another similar sounding hotel. however, i was so impressed with the quality at the hotel, especially the very pleasant staff that i didn't mind at all. when i went to china again this year, i decided to stay there again, and again i was very impressed.

Great service hotel with grand looking room”
it's a nice hotel with free drinks and welcome fruits in the hotel room. the reception is nice to let you know of the free items you can have in the room. big and spacious. have all the ammenities of a 5 stars hotel indeed. very comfortable beds and carpet flooring. nice view from hotel as i am given a 12th floor level. buffet breakfast is great and filling! using the card access system. i will stay again in this hotel when i visit guangzhou for businesses.

Very convenient for business trip”
Perfect for non chinese speaking traveler because you can take airport express bus from the airport to the hotel, which cost RMB 23. However, you have to get out at Wa King Town Hotel which on the opposite side of the street of Grand royal hotel. I used to take a taxi from the airport to hotel but had a problem communicating with taxi driver.. not good experience taking taxi in China. For returning to the airport, you can take a airport express bus right from the hotel to the airport. Hotel also offer hotel shuttle bus to Canton Fair. Room is nice, breakfast is OK...

i have stayedbat many guangzhou hotels in this price class, but very few can offer all the amenities and proximity to canton fairgrounds. definitely return there again next time. tip. you can walk to night street market down the road left under the bridge. lots of bargains to be found. no need to travel 40 minutes to beijing road, unless you need watches, all else is available in this street.

Grand Royal: Good service, location... Not really!”
Grand Royal Hotel was booked taking into consideraton the information on AGODA website: a 5 star hotel, well located and comfortable. Anyway, when I arrived there, I realized immediately that was not a 5 star hotel, even for the China standard. When I asked about to the reception people, they told me that the hotel was a 4 star and "next year" would have its standard classification increased to 5 star... The rooms were not as good as the pictures showed in the website and the location was really inconvenient, far from downtown, no metro station near - the nearest one was about 20 minutes away, by taxi. As for the service, it was ok. The employees were kind in all areas: reception, restaurant, etc.. About the restaurant, the hotel offered a good breakfast and meals well elaborated at a good price.

Clean hotel soft beds but tennis is overcharged!”
Staff was quite friendly and seemed to know what they are doing. We felt safe and comfortable during our stay. We asked for a soft bed as I feel that this is the most important thing in a hotel. The bed was soft and amazing. We were up on the 14th floor so there was little or no traffic noise and it seemed that the rooms were well insulated because we didn't hear anyone around us. Then again... there were not too many staying in this hotel at that time. The reason that I booked this hotel is was because they had a tennis court. Very sadly it was in pretty bad condition and they wanted to charge me as a guest $15/hr! I was very sad about this as most hotels around the world there is just a small charge or no charge at all for hotel guests to play on their own court(s).

Nice hotel,food excellent,door guy very good”
Bus to the airport was only 23rmb from the hotel,taxi on the other hand was 165rmb,room service the food was not hot when it arrived but if you eat in the restaurant great variety for all cultures,very annoying to change money as if the note is worn or a slight tear on it they will not change the currency do yourself a favour just use your credit card,hotel felt very secure with a member of staff on every level,restaurant is very expensive overall I would stay there again my flight did not depart until 11pm and they let me have my room free of charge for the rest of the day which I thought was very kind,tv is entertaining with English movies.From an Irish man

nice clean hotel that is close to BRT line”
The Grand Royal hotel was a nice hotel. It came with free breakfast and a mini fridge they stocked daily with a few complimentary drinks. The restaurants are a but pricy but i guess that coukd be expected from a hotel restaurant. The hotel was too far from everything unless u needed to go to the china games stadium. it was a 40 minute cab ride almost anywhere.

Worth Every Penny”
Room is at par with five star international hotel chains, Location is only the downside of this hotel, although shuttle service are offered by schedule to Pazhou Complex and closest metro station (huangcun station at 1.5km). Airport Shuttle to Baiyun Airport is also offered at a price much cheaper than the taxi ride

Very Good!”
For people attending trade fairs, this hotel is a perfect choice. A 15 minute ride away from the Canton Fair and other trade fair venues, this hotel offers free rides from the airport to the hotel and to the trade fairs and back, several times a day. That by itself gave me huge savings. When I asked an employee for a place where I can buy local delicacies to sample and bring back home, he didn't have a ready answer but asked around until he got it and even walked with me outside the hotel and gave me detailed directions. That's a kind of service that's difficult to get from a few other hotels where English is hardly a second language for employees.

I stayed in Grand Royal hotel during the Canton Fair, the location is quite convinient. as in it only take 15 mins and there is a free shuttle bus as well.

Great Hotel”
A very nice room especially with the study room . At the same time can accompany my wife & also can work at the same time . 5 star Hotel room with spacious environment , value for money as i can say . Not a travelers location , but is very good place to blend in their culture as everywhere is shopping area like night market .If u stay in this hotel , prepare to walk to BRT (bus rapid transit) about 5-10min 2 RMB per person (cheap) then from there u can go to SUBWAY. This trip we really walk a lot & both of us enjoy very much. Remember to bargain along the way & observe others when paying when make purchases . Worth to shop in guangzhou in summary
