Traditional hot spring hotel”
Quite general traditional hot spring hotel. Good services and tidy room. There has a river next to the hotel, nice view. Transportation is fine coz the train station is not quite far away (Approx 5 to 10 mins walking distant). Dinner is not too bad, not the expansive food but taste fine. Still recommend to my friend to visit the hotel as the cost is not high.

The hospitality and the quality of the food made a great impression on me and my wife. The view of the room was great and the location of the hotel was very convenient, just a few minutes walk from the train station. Highly recommend for couple or family wish to enjoy a relaxing stay in the area.

Friendly, Comfortable and best onsen”
Really appreciate the level of service that Matsuya hotel provides. As we did not have a dinner reservation, they recommended and drove us to a local dinner shop nearby. Even though they tried to communicate with us with some limited English, their level of service is phenomenal and we will definitely return to Matsuya again. The onsen inside and outdoors are awesome! Breakfast was great too! This is THE RYOKAN to go to for a real taste of Japan.

Comfortable stay, lovely onsen, beautiful garden”
Very conveniently located just 3 mins walk from the Kinugawa-Koen station. Lovely outdoor onsen on the premises. Beautiful koi pond garden set a little way in from the river. Very elaborate dinner and breakfast, which I struggled a little with as I was not sure what was food and what was ornament & also what goes with what but I muddled through it and it was an interesting experience, including dining in my Japanese robe ( yutaka) - didn’t realise I had to put the thicker ornate jacket over the yutaka, so I felt a little under-dressed. Very minimal English is spoken but the staff are very friendly & forgiving of my slip ups. The one thing I was a little disappointed about was the early check out at 10am & that they would not allow me to use the onsen after I checked out. Otherwise a very comfortable stay

Lovely stay at Hana no Yado Matsuya”
What a lovely Hotel! The rooms was very spacious, nice & clean. While the common areas were full of Japanese traditional dolls & objects which made it a real experience. Almost like staying in an art museum. The food was also very good & staff made an effort to recommend each dish. In door & outdoor Onsen were also very nice & relaxing.

Good place to relax”
This is a good hotel to stay if you want a taste of traditional Japanese hotel with tatami and futons. Nice environment and hotsprings. One thing to mind is there is hardly any restaurants open at night in the nearby area so better book your dinner at the hotel.

I speak fluent Japanese and I have traveled to many onsen ryokan in Japan. I hope my review helps the hotel to improve mainly because as a guest I felt cheated. First, the Good points: Breakfast (Japanese) was good, reception staff friendly and helpful, room 13.5 tatami spacious but needs a little touch up (wallpaper peeling, Other than these 2, I feel practically deceived.

The best stay in my entire life”
This is everything i expected and more. The stay included a beautiful, large tatami room with spectacular view (not sure if other room have the same view), two meals (one dinner and one lunch), public shared onsen, private onsen (need to reserve) and many more. The whole experience is just next level. I regretted that I didnt stay for another night due to my tight schedule. The kaiseki course was nice, nothing fancy but very local. We even have our own private room just for our dinner and breakfast. Overall is 11/10. I want to go back!

Authentic Japanese onsen ryokan experience ”
It was such a heartwarming stay for us. Everything was perfect from beginning to end. It was an amazing place to celebrate my birthday and experience the warm hospitality that Japan is known for! The Kaiseki meals were impeccable, staff were genuine, and hotel was beautiful! Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience the authentic Japanese culture!

鬼怒川で最高の眺めがあるところ”
1ヶ月の間、日光鬼怒川の出張で色んな旅館巡りをする事になった。朝晩ご飯が付いてる所だけ泊まった。 その中で鬼怒川の眺めは圧倒的に1番!! 庭も本当に綺麗だし川まで行けるので凄く綺麗な鬼怒川を見えます。 ご飯も美味しいです。ただ先週の旅館がご飯が美味しすぎたのでそこに比べると少し惜しい。でもコスパはいいです。 古い伝統的な旅館だから施設は少し古いけど問題ない。虫があるので殺虫剤スプレーでもあったら良かったな。 綺麗な景色が見たいならここが最高です。でも水の流れの音が結構大きいから参考してください。僕はその音が大好きですがうるさくて寝れない人もいるかも。 また行きたいです。
