Good price, Nice location, Supermarket nearby, Relaxing Bath”
The place is very clean and comfortable. However, some problems may arise if you are going to check-in during the night. As the door are locked during the night (probably 22:00 PM onward), you might have some problem unlocking it. If you book the room with bunked-bed, the bottom-one might be a little bit too cold in winter (as the heater is installed near the ceiling, and hot air rises, and the cold one sink). Apart from some complication checking-in and the coldness of the room in winter, the low price despite being in the heart of tokyo have won my recommendation. The place is near Asakusa, so you will never run out of place to go. And if you are hungry, the supermarket nearby will be your savior (If you go there after 21:00-22:00, you might get some discounted convenience store food [bento] at half price!). The bathtub is free for access also. This place is a 9.5/10 for me!

Really nice place”
Clean. near transport.

Excellent”
Very close to a metro station so it's pretty convenient to get around to other parts of the city. The single rooms are perfect for one person but may be a bit tight for two people. Aside from that, the vibe was really nice and the facilities are quite clean. The staff are very friendly and speak English really well. A huge plus was the 24hr bike rental for only 500yen! ($5). You won' t find a deal like that anywhere else in the city.

Excellent”
Very cheap for what you get. Specially good for anyone who prefers having the privacy of a single room to shared hostels or capsule hotels.

It was super worth it for the price!

Fee and location”
The best price to stay even if this hotel is located in Tokyo. The location is also good for a person who is visited from overseas countly in order to walk arround a Japanese traditional place, near by the hotel. I recomend a person who would like to save for the hotel stay fee if he or she.

Covers basic living needs”
Would not recommend carrying much luggage, there are many stairs and no elevator. The setup was basic enough and included essentials like a bed, small table, and mini fridge. All toiletries are at an extra cost (ie. tooth brush, towel, etc.) so we did not purchase it.

good for backpacker while bad for couples”
the size of the room is ok for people travel alone. the showerroom and bathroom in the 1/f and the toilet in the 2/f are public, working like the dorm room. there's no lift so that we needed to carry our suitcases up to the 2/f. their slippers made by leather are too slippery to wear. Its kinda dangerous while walking upstairs, not mentioning with the luggages.

Acceptable”
Terrible place. Way overpriced, gave us a hand towel as our towel unless we wanted to pay more. The rooms were concrete boxes with no heat. Not near a train station. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

Great!”
I've been telling all my friends to stay here. Though it's a hostel you can choose to keep to yourself and it's very quiet inside too. Kangaroo Hotel is a pretty long walk from JR Asakusa Station (definitely over 20min) and going there at night is really dark and there's no one on the streets. Check in was very fast and convenient and the bed is so comfortable!

Much better than I thought”
My first time trying a "hostel" style place. Am very impressed and would definitely stay at Kangaroo Hotel again the next time I'm at Tokyo. Very clean with wonderful amenities. Though shower and all are shared, there are sufficient bathrooms for all to use and really clean. Only thing is that it is a bit of a walk to the JR station.

Affordable and good to stay!”
Hotel is within 10~15 minutes walk from Minami-Senju Station. Accommodation wise; Room has a small TV, an air-con, refrigerator and has futon for its bed. Room would be considered small for 2 people, but definitely still doable with luggages squeezing at the foot of our beds. Bathrooms are located on the first level and every level has a shared toilet with 2 cubicles, making it convenient. Hotel staffs are very friendly and kind to advise you around the area of Asakusa. Been there for 12 nights and It's also very close to supermarkets and convenience stores as well. Overall it was a great hotel with a very affordable price! 5 stars!

Good Price for Tokyo, Farther than Usual to Subway”
For the privacy, room size, and facilities, Kangaroo is the go to for travelers who want to get the best bang for the buck on a limited budget. However it is a 1.2km walk from the subway station with 1-2 convenience stores on the way, which is consider far since Tokyo is not a giant city. Also, if you like to be with all your luggage 24/7, there're only narrow stairs going up to the rooms so you'll most likely have to leave them downstairs. But, reception is awesome nice and was very ready to help with what I need(except luggage hauling of course).

nice and cosy stay”
I really liked my stay in the Kangaroo Hotel. I especially liked the bicycle rental, which made accessing much of Tokyo much more accessible. The LAN internet works, the wifi is a bit spotty, and there is a personal small fridge in the room, plus control of the temperature within the room. The individual showers and bath in the first floor was also quite nice. The place was exactly what I was looking for, and I would recommend this hotel for the traveller who is comfortable with navigating the city with the help of a bicycle.

Great stay, but 15 mins away from subway”
It is really quite a walk from Minami-Senju station. And one will probably get lost without a good sense of direction. However, the place is value-for-money and one of the cheapest place around town. Furthermore, the hotel is well-designed and Kangaroo Hotel is expanding (a new building under construction opposite the current one) to serve more budget travelers such as myself. Additionally, Minami-Senju has subway access to both JR and Tokyo Metro, and is a short journey from Nippori that connects you to Narita Airport 45mins away.

historical and traditional place to stay”
It was really nice experience to stay at Kangaroo Hotel for 5 nights. The hotel is near Minami-senju station which is closed to Ueno and Asakusa for touring, just few stops can get to there. The hotel is stylish and very comfortable room, but a little bit small, nice shower and bathroom, also you can do laundry there. Less than 10 minutes by walking to the Minami-senju station, that is not so far or you can rent a bike at the hotel for 500 yen per day, which is quite cheap and very useful and convenient. It's a very high C/P value hotel for people who don'n have high budget. Kangaroo is a great choice!
