Absolutely the best!”
From the moment we arrived until the moment we were leaving, Sean and his team took great care of us! Lots of nice little touches (cookies and sherry in the room, pre printed bus passes and internet info, helped get luggage from car to room, wonderful full breakfast, free newspaper, snacks and drinks (soft and hard), recommendations, etc.) that made our stay that much more enjoyable! Also, very close to downtown Edinburgh. Kildonan Lodge would be our first choice when returning to Edinburgh.

Lovely Edinburgh hotel”
Two of us stayed for two nights at the Kildonan Lodge for a city break. The location is excellent as you are on a straight road directly into the city. The walk to the city would take approx 45 mins and you would be on the Royal mile, at the East end. The food was wonderful with full Scottish breakfast on offer as well as fresh fruit, cereal and juices. We ate breakfast at 10am and couldn't eat another thing until 5pm ! The staff were kind, polite and helpful. We stayed on the second floor in a king size room (15) and it was a lovely, quaint room in what would have been the attic. Highly recommended.

Wonderful accommodations in Edinburgh!”
We had one of the garden level rooms and it was quiet, fairly spacious and had a lovely bathroom. The wifi was the best we had in our two weeks traveling around Scotland and we appreciated the bit of sherry left in the room for the guests. We were tired on arrival and decided to have dinner at the hotel our first night which was not only surprisingly good, but at extremely reasonable prices. The included breakfast was also good, though on Sunday, service was a bit slow due to the full dining room. The hotel is a bit more than 1.5 miles from the main tourist areas of Edinburgh and we enjoyed the quiet walk back and forth, though buses are available. The staff were consistently friendly and we received some helpful advice for our touring, including discount coupons for the sightseeing bus tours. Would definitely recommend this place to others.

Perfect stay”
Loved everything about this hotel. The Hotel and our room were both very clean, the en-suite was stunning and the bed was huge and very comfortable. There was a great selection for breakfast. All the staff were all very kind and more than happy to help with anything you need. The Hotel is a short walk from the centre of Edinburgh which was good as it meant there was no noise outside on an evening. The hotel also has it's own private off road parking and theres plenty of public transport nearby. Me & my partner loved our stay here and would recommend it to everyone.

This hotel is located close to the town. You can get the bus just outside the hotel to get to the city . Food was delicious 😋 room very clean, bed was so comfy that we didn't won't to go out of it. Welcoming staff very polite and helpful the same with the rest of the team so friendly and kind. I can highly recommend this place and I know for a fact that when I will visit Edinburgh again this will be my first choice to stay. Thank you for your help and such a lovely time in your hotel 🏩 😍

Exceptional”
Slightly more of an old fashioned hotel, but very well run. Delicious breakfasts. We were visiting our son who has tarted a PhD. The owner suggested he join us for breakfast - when we checked out there was no charge for this. Location is fab, left the car in the car park and took the bus, a 10 min ride, in to explore Edinburgh. - there is no parking in city centre.

Very cozy, nice hospitality and we enjoyed our stay very much. The breakfast is nicely prepared as well. Give it a try and you will love it like I do. I already recommended this hotel to my Friend who is coming to Edinburgh next year instead.

Beautiful, Great Service, Fantastic Breakfast, Tiny room”
Loved the setting and the staff was wonderful. Lovely common sitting room by fireplace and fabulous breakfast. The room itself was quite small... too small for 2 people with suitcases. (Had I known, I would have requested upgrade through hotel instead of booking on 3rd party site). Bus stop within walking distance... needed to see sites of Edinburgh.

Beautiful hotel, clean, great attention to detail and close to the city centre. All staff are really helpful and very friendly. Rooms are nicely decorated and bed is really comfortable. We stayed 3 nights, but wished we could have stayed longer.

Very relaxing cosy atmosphere”
I lived at the separate house near the main building. In fact I had two rooms with additional semi-double bed. Everything was very clean. The staff was very friendly. One time something happened with electricity and all was fixed very fast. And I cannot forget about complementary sherry. It is so pleasant to have a sip of sherry after an eventful day and plan your next day sitting in front of the fireplace in the beautiful Victorian living room.

Arrived from US on ‘red eye’ pretty tired at 11am. Very inviting staff had us relax in lounge while attending to another checking out. Stayed 2 nights.We were able to leave luggage there until room ready. Also had to leave early am and they left for us in mini fridge yogurts and juice. Very friendly. Traditional Scottish breakfast filling and good along with fresh fruit and good variety on buffet table. And an easy walk from bus stop and about a mile and 1/2 from town also walkable. Definitely recommend this clean , friendly, quiet, reasonable place

Absolutely beautiful buildings and rooms and a lovely warm welcome. My partner and I were only staying for one night and unfortunately arrived much later than expected, but had an amazing short night anyways. No hassle from start to finish, and a good breakfast. I would very strongly recommend staying here, even if it's only for one night, it's definitely worth it!

Wonderful stay”
Myself and my husband had a fantastic 2 night stay here. We stayed in the Black Watch four poster room which was amazing. Big, comfortable and luxurious. The breakfast was to die for and the staff could not do enough. Ten min bus ride into town, the buses were very frequent. Would recommend staying here and would not hesitate to book here again!

We had to leave early so we did not have breakfast. But the food at the restaurant for dinner was mediocre. Certainly not wonderful as claimed. Hotel staff was helpful and very accommodating. Carried our luggage up to third floor. I would definitely stay there again.

A. Most enjoyable stay. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and went out of their way to meet our needs. On minor thing was the breakfast - hard.dry bacon and sausage and overcooked poached eggs let the Scottish breakfast experience down. Nothing major. Just a shame.
