Return stay. Great place, well maintained, clean, efficient, and friendly staff. Always helpful and eager to serve. Spacious and clean rooms, got a bit of sea view with our rooms this time,. Indoor/outdoor onsens as well. Great experience. Excellent hotel buffet dinner and breakfast too. Great tasting food, incredible choices/variety. Had the kaiseki previously as well which was gorgeous.

We did not expect the hotel to be this good, pretty big, stayed at the Annex building, don't mind the long but adventurous walk to the West Wing building for the onsen. Great onsen facilities, they have open-air bath with picturesque view of the coast, and sauna with the same view. Huge selection of breakfast. No dinner provided but there are about 2 to 3 restaurants in the hotel, but we decided to walk about 1KM to an amazing izakaya. Hotel also provide welcome drink upon check-in, great hospitality. I also liked the fact they provide more than 1 key for the room.

Likely the best hotel in Utoro Onsen area, which is just outside the Shiretoko National Park. Modern facilities including recently renovated Onsen area, good buffet dinner and breakfast, there is much to like about this great hotel.

Stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights. I think this is the best hotel in Utoro. Staffs were very polite, room are clean, spacious and have a nice view of the port and ocean. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast was amazing with a wide variety of selection. Enjoyed the spa as well

Everything was great about the hotel but unfortunately there was a tour group that made a lot of noise and ruined all the nice atmosphere. That tour group made the nice hotel feels like a cheap hotel. I think the hotel should be more careful about accepting the tour group.

stayed in the room with balcony outdoor onsen with sea view , comfortable room is same as published, Service is impeccable , hotel with couple of souvenir shops, small photo gallery, dine in buffet restaurant that served mostly japanese dishes or in hotel bar that served western food . Public/guest indoor and outdoor onsen / sauna at top floor with seaview,Free Outdoor or indoor parking is available. 24hrs convenient store is located outside hotel , handful of local restaurants within walking distance (mostly are closed during winter)

Love our stay at this Hotel set amidst the abundant nature of Shiretoko, a World Natural Heritage Site. Buffet breakfast was delicious, great staff service. Highly recommend !

There is nothing much here, and shiretoko is basically a place where most shops closed before 6pm. So better grab a stay with dinner plan else have to reply on convenient shop food for dinner.

Great Stay at Shiretoko”
My husband and I had a great time staying in Shiretoko Grand Hotel Kitakobushi even though we only stayed there for a night. We went there during end Feb and the view from the hotel was fabulous! The hotel buffet spread (dinner & breakfast) was delicious and fresh. We regretted for not planning a 2 nights trip at Shiretoko as there are a lot of activities (at own expense) which we are not able to participate (such as specialized drift ice tour where you are given a wetsuit and wade through the icy water). The view from their outdoor onsen was as shown in the Agoda website...no kidding! Be prepared to travel for at least 1 hr on bus from the Shiretoko-Shari train station to Utoro Onsen bus terminal..but the view along the bus ride is magnificent!

Kitakobushi is your largest hotel in utoro peninsula, great base to start exploring shiretoko, opt for higher floor facing the ocean. quaint room, service is very attentive, good english speaking staff that will arrange your need on the spot. (we arrived in the morning utoro without any tour plan, and we fill up the remaining day with 2 tours before the check in time at 3pm) little tips for taking hiking trips at shiretoko world heritage park : if possible get the long hiking trips, the pacing is very slow, therefore you can opt the guide to take you further in the woods. arrive early and take the earliest schedule (give them a call beforehand, they have english speakers if you want to book via hotel)

THE hotel for your stay in Shiretoko”
Had one of our best hotel stays here at Shiretoko Grand. This is the only major hotel in the region and would be an excellent base for exploring the natural wonders of Shiretoko. The Shiretoko Goko lakes and Shiretoko pass are a 15 minute drive away. You could easily spend 3 days exploring the area at a leisurely pace, taking walks or hikes on the trails exploring the lakes, waterfalls and mountains. The hotel itself is centrally located in the small town. Highly recommend including dinner in your booking as it is of a high standard even though its a buffet. The highlight of our stay would be the open air roof top hot spring where you can have a soak while enjoying the view of the ocean and skies.

What a memorable and pleasant stay!”
Modern hotel so though we booked the traditional Japanese room with the futons, it didn't have the same feel as the hotel we went to before which was a very traditional Japanese hotel. However, kitakuboshi was worth the amount we paid per night (500+ sgd for 2). Buffet breakfast (wide spread) is provided, there is a beautiful albeit very modern rooftop onsen, a ground level outdoor terrace for soaking your feet in hot water, and on some nights, a wildlife enthusiast employee will conduct nature talks in the lobby with a slideshow of animal photographs taken from the nearby Shiretoko Park. We didn't understand a word of Japanese but her enthusiasm won us over! If you're willing to pay, it's definitely worth it!

Best hotel to stay near Shiretoko! ”
The staff service was extremely superb from the moment we arrived till we left the hotel. It's near good view points for sunset pictures too. Dining buffet has one of the largest variety I have ever seen and the quality is something you just have to try. Room was absolutely stunning and the and the staff will make your futon for the night. Onsens were superb too. In short, a must stay if you are visiting Shiretoko! We definitely want to stay here again.
