Classic Hotel, Old but Gold”
U know a good hotel once u step in to the lobby. The Bellboy open the door and carry your luggage. This service usually only provided by the 4-5 stars hotel. I have a feeling the owner / whoever manage the hotel is a detail and classy person. It called Marco Polo, but it doesn’t feel tacky. It’s classic, and gold. U can feel the vibe by the time u enter the lobby. The decoration is carefully selected, painting at the lobby, even in your room, complimented the name of hotel. Room is very clean, the old furnitures, all function very well, no broken part / etc. They took care of it carefully. No dust, I'm surprised, because usually an old hotel like this it’s smell mushy, dusty on the deco and etc. But not Marco Polo Hotel. From the lobby, corridor, room…very clean! I salute the housekeeping and the management. I didn’t try the breakfast, because we walked to Tanjung Market early morning, which is only 600m from the hotel. If the owner / management can turn and revive this gem into classic hotel like Eastern Oriental in Penang or Raffles in Singapore, that would be very fortunate and wonderful.

Rustic & Classic”
One of the earliest star hotel in Tawau (if I'm not mistaken). I remembered staying here back in 2007. In 2022, it may look old/rustic to some, but I am still loving the room. The place is so strategic with ample parking space, restaurants that you can dine in around, the pasar, convenience store and more around the hotel vicinity. Good value for money.

Location is strategic to the food facilities around.. Easy access by walking around, Saturday night got pasar malam. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Will come back again for the next trip. Thanks

Worth it”
Room was spacious, bathroom was clean and location is conveniently in the town centre. Parking was easy as they have their dedicated parking lot. It's best to go for older hotels like this as their rooms are always spacious.

The best in Tawau”
The best hotel in Tawau. Great location, has its own parking space, nice breakfast and spacious carpeted room. Good value for money. You will like this hotel if you like traditional malay design. The lighting is a bit dim, but that’s fine with me. Will stay here again for sure.

Comfy & pleasant stay - Nice room even you will see an old furniture, but it is still okay for me. friendly & helpful staff - warm welcome & they help me accordingly when I asking for help to get food in the midnight. thank you also to HK who keep clean my room. Location - walking distance to the town & restaurant reasonable rate will come back

The hotel is in the middle of town and accessible from several locations. Supermarket and restaurants can be found nearby the hotel. It is quite quiet at night and can rest peacefully. The room is spacious and equipped with furniture either to work or relax. The furniture, light and setting however is quite old and need refurbish, including the hotel to make it look modern and competitive. Overall, it was a good stay with affordable rate.

It’s an old hotel with old furnitures and yesteryears setting. But i can give credits to the spaciousness and the water flow. Feels like bathing under waterfall. Lastly do not expect fridge facial tissue lotion toothbrush comb shower cap. Bring your own😅. But i don’t mind staying here again. Walking distant to pasar tanjung n utc. Nice.

Old hotel with soul.”
When 1st time arrive at this hotel, my impression is different. It look like one of those haunted hotel in the movie. But don't let the impression fools you. Even the hotel is old, but the room is clean and well maintained. Staff also very friendly and helpful, really beyond my expectation. Feel like home. The only cons is lack of power plug and no water bidet. Definitely will stay here again.
