“Room number 1103- Level 11(Apartment with 2 bedroom)”
Advantages: (1) The location of the hotel is very strategic. Walking distance to Museum, Kuching Waterfront, Mall and India Street are very near. (2) Good and friendly hotel staff (at the registration counter and in the hotel cafe. Much appreciation to the 2 staffs at the reception counter in the lobby and to the male staff in white uniform (bell boy) during the hotel check-out. Professional in doing their job....based on my observations. (3) The room price is really cheap for a 2-room apartment. (4) The apartment is spacious (complete with living room, dining room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms) Disadvantages: (1) Not clean. The window glass seems to be a little mossy. The carpet needs to be changed because it looks very shabby. There are still traces of dirt on the carpet near the sofa. On the first day of check-in until the third day of our check-out, there is dirt on the there. It looks like the housekeeping staff on duty is not doing a good cleaning job. (2) The facilities are old and need to be changed. The queen size mattress looks worn and deflated even though it is a spring type. The pillow is also deflated. The TV is not a flat screen type. The hair dryer is also an old type... The air conditioner still works well even though it is outdated. The towel rail in the bathroom almost fell off because the screws were not tightened. The corner table in the living room is unstable. The coffee table in the living room is also not suitable because the glass pieces are easy to remove. It is better to use a solid wood coffee table. (3) The lamp on the study table does not work. The living room lights are very dim. Lack of lighting at night in the living room/TV area. I feel like I'm in a SCARY ATMOSPHERE in an Asian horror movie🤣. It is better to use a white downlight. (recommendation only) (4) The water flow in the kitchen sink is slow to recede. Like the kitchen sink is a little clogged. (5) The walls in the apartment are also gloomy, slightly dirty and worn. The color is not cheerful as I am in a SAD MOOD. If I stay there for a month, I will probably be depressed 🤣. Even though the view is very interesting which is facing Padang Merdeka. (6) The ceiling of the apartment is also dirty. Better paint it white. (7) The bathroom door knob in the bedroom with 2 single beds is slightly damaged. It's hard to lock. The knob needs to be replaced. (8) The housekeeping staff on duty did not put a duvet cover on the queen bed. No plastic trash for the dustbin in the queen bed bedroom. Water still stagnates on the bathroom floor and is not dried using a mop. The housekeeping staff on duty should not do their duties casually. (9) The list of appliances in the apartment and penalties are also not placed as a reference for customers who are staying. *Hopefully the Merdeka Palace Hotel management will make renovations for this apartment. I hope to be able to check-in again in the same room one day.
