We use the room for 3hrs sleep, for toilet and change cloth before depart to Golden rock. Place owner are friendly! this place is close to many restaurant and shop, there a KFC shop!
The rest of the village is poor.
The staff are good, helpful and located is nice too.
Not worth with the rate USD20 for a twin sharing room per night. The room is small, no place to put luggage. The blanket is smelly and dirty. Window in the room is uncovered by something like glass (maybe it's broken?) or others instead of a small piece of curtain, very cold at night and couldn't sleep.

“horrible hotel in a great location”
It really says something when you think a $15 room is grossly overpriced. (from all the other places in Myanmar - I would suggest $4 for this room = maximum) Yikes!! The owner was nice enough (though he basically called me a liar when I showed him the stains on the floor and bedding...he said I made them....ha ha) It really is just a tourist trap village at the base of the mountain with the golden rock. What you get = broken shelf/dirty sheets/dirty floor/dirty bathroom/ac from 1975/mattress from 1976/convenient location. I wouldn't let my dog stay here.
