Truly affordabale Maldives”
I once googled "cheap Maldives vacation" which yielded rooms starting at $350/night. I fortunately heard of the Rip Tide Vacation Inn through word of mouth. I have returned numerous times with family and friends. With surfing, snorkeling, stand-up paddle boarding, and kayaking, there's something for everyone. It's great to have access to all these things at such a prime location and at 10 - 20% the cost of most resorts.

Fantastic place at peaceful island”
rip tide is in a small, local village, which gives a more genuine experience of the maldives than the "resort-islands". it is also a cheaper alternative, without compromising on either quality nor service. everybody in the staff is really friendly, helpful - and always with a big smile! the food is good, the rooms are more than what you would expect for the price they offer - and the service is impeccable. you need anything, you just ask. they'll go out of their way to help you, really. rip tide also offers a range of tours, which are all fantastic - and reasonably priced. we reccomend snorkeling at sand-bank and night-fishing!

Wonderful, friendly service above and beyond”
I had the great fortune of staying at the Rip Tide Vacation Inn. Saeed, the guesthouse owner, is one of the most friendly, welcoming hosts I've ever met. I was invited to lunch at his sister's house for Eid, and he made sure that all my transfers and activities were taken care of, even when unforeseen circumstances such as weather changed existing plans and schedules.

A great budget option ”
I would highly recommend this place. Its not the typical resort - at Rip Tide, the staff and owners care about you and go out of their way to make your trip memorable. You are welcomed into their lives with warmth and hospitality. It is a cheaper option for those wanting to explore the best of the Maldives without the fancy accommodation price tag. Staying on a local island does have its drawbacks but all the day trips are very affordable and flexible.

Experience of Maldives at budget prices”
Stayed in this hotel for a few days. It is a guest house, not really a hotel. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We took a trip to see the dolphins, sandbanks and snorkelling. Highly recommended to take this, even multiple times. I would recommend this place to anyone going to Maldives with a restricted budget. I think it is also quite good for families with young children.

Good accommodation and great value for money”
The staff was very polite and Said the owner was very interesting to talk to about Maledives in general. We liked the location of the hotel and its feel. Rooms were spacious and TV was good. In general it is probably one of the best options in the island and great value for money. It is a pity that the public beach is rather poorly kept, real pity :( because the island could attract many more tourists. Thanks for a lovely stay!

A Local Maldivian experience”
Let me start by saying that RipTide is not a 3* hotel not even close to it, but its a guest house with a heart. The rooms are standard but with ac & hot water 24*7. The food is nice, specially the Maldivian breakfast(the way locals make), You should never miss that and I doubt if you find that in a resort. Now we were welcomed by the owner of the guest house. The Island is rocky on one side and beach on the other. You can easily take a Kayak and go arround the bay, you get a clear view of the Kashodhoo beach resort just outside the guest house. There is a uninhabited rocky island to the left and you can enjoy few hours there. The island and beach is not great as we had expected, It was dirty and rocky also the govt there have to do something in terms of cleanliness. Its a small Island with one restaurant, few general stores, a small ground for sports and few souvenir shops. And inspite of reading about a bad experience from a souvenir shop I still tried the same shop once and yes it not unplesent but its not right for sure, so avoid the souvenir shop called 9il Penseira.I would suggest you to plan just 2 days on this island as there is nothing much to do here and you will easily get bored by the end of the day. With just limited things to do here 2 days would be more than enough. Also plan your trip on a Maldivian summer (i think Jan to March) because we wasted an entire day due to the rains and missed a sandbank + snorkeling trip.

Good stay”
Very basic guesthouse on the island of Guraidhoo. The bed was comfortable, shower hot, and breakfast was tasty. However the WiFi was weak, and the tour was organised was quite disappointing. Told us it would be 9-12:30 for $20 each. We didn’t leave until 9:30, then our boat had to drop off another couple at a resort, so we dropped them off at 10am, then we were back by 12pm. So really our snorkel trip was only 2 hours instead of 3 1/2 so just be careful of this. Also, they said they had free paddle boards and kayaks, and when we went to use the kayak they said it was broke. Guraidhoo is a lot less touristy than Maafushi, but still a few hotels, guest houses and restaurants. Make sure you go to the little private island connected by a bridge. So pretty.

Nice, but needs to improve”
The staff was very nice and gave great service. Still the hotel owner/managment need to work on some issues. He/They seem to overbook the place on purpose, so they they changed people to other locations. They even tried to put me to some local familys upstares for two nights because they had overbooked the guest house. I had to four times and that´s not what I was looking for. Yet the local atmosphere was really nice and there was great diving around the island.

the 3 star doesn't suit this hotel at all as it looks like homestay in a village. friendly & helpful staffs but there was no fresh seafood in the restaurant.

Not worth it!”
The owner and the staff was super nice and very helpful. There were a few things that I didn't really like. The room and the bathroom was full with small moth, and our last night I found a HUGE Cockroach in the bathroom. We didn't like how the AC was blowing at our faces while we were sleeping/resting, the next morning I had a sore throat. The AC remote didn't have a air swing function so we couldn't control the air swing. Overall I wouldn't come back to this guesthouse again. But the staff and owner was REALLY NICE. One of the workers help us with our baggage when we left.

Horrible experience”
We have horrible experience at there. On the last day morning, the owner & all the staff disappeared / vanished. We don't even have breads for breakfast (this was what we requested the night before, for a light breakfast) and we have no idea whether speed boat have been booked for us. The owner is totally irresponsible..

Best place to stay in Guraidhoo ”
This is the best place to stay in Guraidhoo. The facilities are basic but staff are really courteous. Our caretaker Ahmed went out of the way many a times to see that our requirements are met. Highly recommended this place.
