Best trip ever ”
We went to Summer Island Maldives on our honeymoon. It was the first time we went outside our homeland Pakistan and we faced some issues. The entire staff at this resort is extremely hospitable. I and my wife rate Summer Island resort 101 out of 100. The guy named Rushdan at the reception had been our knight in shining armour. He handled our problem like his own and made us feel super duper comfortable. It is the best holiday resort if you choose Maldives, especially for honeymoon. Ambiance: 10/10 Hospitality: 11/10

Love the place a lot. True value for money. I was upgraded to a water villa and the room was amazing. Even they were fully booked for holidays staff were doing perfect job. Food in the buffet was delicious and with great variety. Menu was changed every day. Different options were available. U should try duck cooked in Haya restaurant It is just yummy. Many thanks to a lovely Nepali girl working in Haya. She is doing great job! Definitely planning to visit the place again and gonna recommend to my friends. The only suggestion if possible It would be very useful to place a barcode menu of the bar that can deliver to the room. The same can be done for spa services however maybe It was there I just didn't notice)

Wonderful romantic place”
The resort and the island is really impressive! The staff was always with smile on their face and was very helpful. The sea is really so blue, as I've never seen anywhere before. There are sharks near the beches and many more fishes. Better choise is beach bungalow before water bungalow. Water bungalows are very sunny. Beach bungalows are like in a jungle - so many palms and trees. Cleanliness was on a very high level in this pandemic times. All staf was with masks all the time. Tourists had to wear masks only in the restaurant. It was a relly nice holiday for my and my husband. We really enjoyed snorkeling around island and on free snorkeling tours. Free water in room.

Amazing stay”
Everything was very well organised. We had Vista room, with limited view on the sea, but covered by shadow from the palm trees, which was better due to hot weather. Accommodation is strongly influenced by your neighbours... unfortunately smoking is allowed, so we had to breathe the smoke from the neighbours accommodated below us. Some visitors listened music or youtube on the loungers... which was also annoying, but most of visitors tried to respect silent place. Food was great, maybe more sea food would be beneficial. Island cleaned every day, no complaint. Big benefit: a lot of fish in the a sea around the island incl. sharks, octopus. But seabed around the island was covered by garbage... mainly by reconstruction material. It should be definitelly cleaned, because there was sharp wires in some areas. The weather was mostly fine, sunny, but there was days when it rained almost the whole day... which was a suprise for us due to March. Unfortunately the climate is changing everywhere. Overall we spent wonderful time in this tiny island.

Amazing resort”
I’ve spent 6 nights in this amazing resort and even while being off season, the weather surprised us with never ending sun in the beginning of August. The staff was extremely friendly and they made my stay unforgettable. The beach was clean and the water calm and breathtaking. The complimentary trips to the reefs (1x a day) were the highlight of my stay. The guide showed us the dolphins as well as the underwater creatures. I took half board and since the food was well done and in huge amounts, I couldn’t ask for more. The bar offers various cocktails. I would definitely go to this resort the next two years

Amazing staff”
Arrived at summer island for a 5 day break over my birthday. Staff were super helpful, very friendly, made up the room and dinner table on my birthday and could not have done more for us during our stay. The water villa was lovely, very clean and maid service provided daily. Dinner was great at the a la crate restaurant and buffet breakfast was also very good... fresh egg station and everything you would expect for a breakfast. Dive shop and trip staff were also amazing.

Great way to start my Maldavian adventure ”
Ended up booking a Water Villa here because of the location to Male. Staff was great in setting up the speedboat transfer and a quick 45 minutes from the airport. Had the full board and found the food at both the buffet and semi-buffet to be quite delicious. Easy to get around everywhere and the staff was super friendly and helpful every step along the way. One thing I loved here was the itemized receipt I'd receive via email every evening so there were no surprises in terms of charges when I checked out. Also did a few dives with them and the house reef was fun as well as the deep dive. I also appreciated the protocols in place during Covid with masks being worn by both guests and staff in the restaurant areas and sanitizing stations area which made me feel a lot more safe. Overall, an amazing stay!

Humble and friendly staff. Very helpful. Overall great hospitality. The place is a Paradise, well maintained. Food variety is there for vegetarians also, though less than non vegetarian. The island has lot of good places for photography, you can take out some time to explore around the island.

I had a great time on Summer Island”
I had a great time on Summer Island. I stayed for 2 weeks and I would definitely return. Two points for your consideration: 1) On my last day I was thrown off the island at 15:30, though I only had my flight from Male at 20:55. When I asked for a later speedboat transfer to Male I got the following meaningless reply: “Unfortunately the last boat going from here for all QR departures are at 3.30pm. It is also advisable to go a bit earlier for evening flights, as we hear the lines during the evening are so long and waiting hours could be a bit longer than normal. This will also allow you to comfortably do the check in and have a little rest before your long flight back home. Thank you and wishing you a safe flight. Mariya Shareef (Resort Manager)”. I am sorry to say, but 15:30 is not the last speedboat transfer back to Male. On other days the last transfer was at 16:30/17:00. In my view they seriously need to reconsider their practices for organising speedboat transfers. Convenience of guests should come first over any cost saving initiatives, in particular that it is a paid service at 75 USD/person/way. 2) Stay away from their dive centre (Diverland) and bring your own snorkelling equipment (mask, tube and fins), otherwise be prepared to pay 15 USD/day for renting snorkelling equipment. Avoid the “manta watch” trip at all cost! It is a complete rip-off for 80 USD/person.

Overall, we are very enjoy the accommodation on island. Staff - friendly and helpful, we are really much appreciated. Beach - nice sea view and awesome sand beach. Room - clean and impressive. water villa highly recommended. Facilities - some of the sports and leisure facilities need to be upgraded. however, overall is satisfactory.

We really enjoyed the stay. The stuff was so nice, and they cleaned the room twice a day. The food was okay. The sea is good for snorkelling. The diving was really expensive, and as a beginner you couldn’t dive twice a day.

Excellent stay at Summer island”
I travelled during COVID-19 times and was pleasently surprised by our stay. The entire country is designed for tourism so right from arrival time at the airport, stay in hotel to departure every thing was nice. The resort is small but cozy. Since the walking distances were small we found it easy to go around the entire island. The number of guests staying were naturally less hence we could get personal attention. Infact the restaurant staff started rembering our room numbers. Special mention of their staff- Luxmi for organising wonderful anniversary dinner and Bradely. At the reception Alan was very pleasing and so was other staff at all the places small island easy to cover. Approachable staff who took good care. lack of a few water sport activities came as disappointment Though, kayaking, boat rides, banana boat was available, we could not find water scooters or para sailing there. While taking trip for turtle watching the resort forgot to mention thr depth of the water there as a result we being non swimmers could not attempt it. Resort should inform prior to taking the trip that you either carry safety vest to attempt getting into the water. This would save guest the disappointment of not being able to get into deep waters. Food: just enough variety. We did found lack of Indian food since 95% guests were European. We did not mind that since we are okay with international food. However if you are coming from India and are a vegetarian pls mention this so that chef can prepare food for you accordingly. On our last day Chef Surendra agreed for serving Dosa and likes in dinner when I made the request which was very kind of him. Over all a good stay the resort gives a natural feel of a village with very dense vegetation and cleanliness all over the place. Sure recommended for visit again if you want to be In a small resort where you want personal service and care One advise of improvement- front desk officer Natalie is doing a good job as a hostess.
