    it was awesome”

it was so cold up there in Volcania, because it's located so close to Batur. it's located near a bridge where you could see Batur lake from far. Near ATM and food stall. so happy to stay in Volcania despite of the cold weather. Ibu Ani was so kind, she cooked a very delicious nasi goreng for breakfast. i love the interior, it is so comfy. Very recommended for you who want to reach Batur.

    A castle on a mountain in a shot-hole.”

Grand-intricate building design, clean room and friendly staff

Volcania was a decent place to stay but the drawback was the area it's located in. Volcania is located next to a viewing platform of Mt Batur, many hawkers come here to sell their wares at this 'look-out' so expect to get hassled as soon as you leave the hotel. In the future I would prefer to stay at the bottom of the Valley on the lake where it isn't as busy/depressing, this part of Kintamani didn't have a nice atmosphere. The hotel has intricate wooden carving which is fascinating. It's a bit cold but reasonably comfortable.

Excellent. But it is very cold!”

Big room, close to the volcano, the friendly staff.

There as cold and empty in hotel as in the castle. The roof is not close to the house and if outside is 15C, keep in mind that inside the same way. Hot water was intermittent, we have not been able to take a bath. We were the only guests. We booked Deluxe room. The room is about 40 sq.m. with three balconies. The room occupies the entire second floor of the hotel. The hotel location on Agoda map is incorrect. In fact, the hotel is across from the Museum of Vulcan. Since We were almost the first guests, they were not able to feed us dinner. Breakfast was also poor and consisted only of tea and toast with jam.

Nice bed, bathtub, beautiful balinese style

Considering the 250.000 rupia price range, this beautiful Balinese-style hotel is better than other hotels in Bali. Apart from that the chamber next to the reception is a bit noisy, this hotel is worth its money.

    quiet, convenient, confortable

I stayed there 3 nights and everyone might be surprised as not so many ppl stay in Kintamani for that long but I enjoyed staying there , it's quiet, a bit cold in the room but it's cool outside. Food is not much to choose but the nasi goreng is nice. I like the antique design of the house. Recommended.

Nice hotel, but not the most quiet location”

    Decor, price, staff friendliness

Loved the design and friendliness of the staff. Since I mainly was looking for a cheap but clean place to stay while climbing Mt. Batur, the Hotel delivered. Breakfast was soso. Water temperature for tub/shower was often too cold and since the room had open vents and faced towards the street, road noise was pronounced. All-in-all, the price is good and the rooms are clean. Next time I will book something down at the lake to compare.

What an extraordinary place. I was hoping for something different and this is it.”

Unique accomodation.. was like staying with your great Aunt in the 50's.. All timber, awesome architecture, a grand old lady. No pool, bar, etc.. but a lovely courtyard where I was served tea when I arrived. The sitting/dining room is stunning. In my experience, unique is the best word I have. 4 post bed with nets, all timber furniture, awesome " open air" bathroom in a natural rock face grotto. Just a great room. Short stroll to many attractions and a great base for climbing Mt Batur , about a 20 minute drive to starting point. My hostess was so helpful and friendly. Great experience all round.

There isn't much to do there except to see Mount Batur. So if you walk up or down from the hotel, there isn't much to do, especially at night. What was disappointing was that there was very limited hot water, and the blinds in the toilet was broken so you could literally see outside, vice versa. There isn't any airconditioning or fan, but it is slightly chilly in that region.

Just don't go there - hilarious in hindsight ”

This was the worst place we have stayed. We are travelling on a low budget, so I made this booking bc there was a 'special deal' price. The building is amazing, but on the noisy main road. It is very dark inside with some rock features. We were upgraded bc on check in we advised the staff that the room had no tap. The 'Superior Room' had a nice looking bed, and a large bath. We were climbing Mt Batur in the morning so we stayed. The room was very dusty, the bathroom smelled of urine, the bathroom blinds were filthy and did not close, and the towels smelt bad. The young men that booked us in seemed to behave like normal teenagers, always on their phones, watching telly, and at night they slept on mattresses in the foyer. For extra excitement at 11.30pm they were knocking on the front door of the hotel, seemingly locked out, then they rang the reception phone for ages, which of course was right next to our room. Just don't go there.
