If your here for the pool, the price is worth it otherwise it's a bit over price as there was no breakfast, the restaurant is open only from 10am to 7pm. Wifi is fast.

The hotel was kinda outdated and look so much better on the pictures than it was in reality. There was no cable tv and internet also didnt work that good. The restaurant was good and had much to offer, it's just that it is an outdoor restaurant and there were many mosquito's. All in all, I think the price of the hotel was a little to much for what they have to offer.

I had booked the standard matrimonial room (2 adults + 1 kid) for me and my wife, and her 2 teenaged kids. It was technically not possible to book one room for 4 persons via the website, but the reception staff added one more person for the regular extra fee, without any fuss. Shortly after occupying the room, we were confronted with a blocked shower drain, but hotel maintenance staff showed up within 10 minutes to fix it. After that all went well. One enters the hotel from the highway (the main axis cutting through Gen. Santos City) through a drive-in alley. That probably explains why it's surprisingly quiet throughout the hotel. You can easily imagine being in a resort while taking a dip in the inner courtyard pool, although the bustle of the city with its eateries and shopping malls are within walking distance. All in all, this stay was well worth the money.

value for money accommodation in gensan. beds are really comfortable. rooms are sized well and staff are really courteous. location-wise very accessible. the setback though is the absence of a full resto amenity. food service can be availed on room service or at the blue bar which us quite small for a hotel like tierta montana which is always fully booked.

enjoyed - love it”
stayed many times at the hotel which in general is very nice .... however during current stay very loud music with extremely loud 'base' from early afternoon until late evening. in the end changed rooms, to a moderately quieter one. i must add that the same problem exists in many hotel in gensan and davao, management have absolutely no thought of checked in guest. seems that local parties take priority over the comfort and well being of paying checked in guests.

Lovely hotel, good central location, ”
stayed for a total of 11 nights in the end. the hotel is well located and secure. transport is good, just stop a tricycle on the road, very cheap, for instance to kcc mall it costs 20 peso for 2 people. the staff were very nice and friendly.small points for the hotels attention are the pool needs to be filtered and cleaned and the cafe staff need to improve service which is quite poor. the pool is about 14 meters long, so is ok for swimming, the deep end is 5ft and shallow end 3ft, so safe enough. the cafe food is good with an extensive menu. the rooms have no balconies or terraces, so agoda take note and adjust the room details accordingly. the rooms are nice and clean and the beds very good. the rooms have kettles, but no tea or coffee, and the rooms have no fridges. shower is ok, normally cold, but this is normal here. remember this is an agricultural and fishing area with not many foreigners living here, so the pool is a rare luxury. the other hotels have no pools or gyms. the kcc mall is close by and has a good department store, supermarket and shops for most things and a cinema and eating places. a new mall is being constructed next door and is due to open in 2012 sometime. there is a mcdonalds about 200 meters from the hotel as well. i would definately recommend this hotel , and will be staying here again on my next trip there.

Convenient location”
First, I would like to commend Agoda,I'm super happy I came across Agoda! When I first contacted the hotel thru text, I was told that they were fully booked for my desired date, but I saw an available room,and booked it. I was nervous that when we get there we wouldn't have a room, but thank God for Agoda, our reservation was honored! Location was great as it was walking distance to malls and other food area. The room was nice, had a modern twist to it, but the bathroom kinda smelled weird, had no ref, good thing front desk staff allowed us to use their fridge in the lobby area. Breakfast was ok. Was looking forward to using their pool but it looked unkempt, got turned off.

it was a pleasant stay at the Montana hotel ”
The hotel is right in the middle of this busy city and you can easily stop a passing tricycle to where ever you want to go .there is aircon in the room, but when you are laying in bed you can't feel the cold air.

Friendly comfortable hotel”
There was free wifi in the rooms but it was terribly slow. However it was very good in the restaurant/karaoke bar. Although the free breakfast was fine the overall hotel food I thought was average. To be fair we only ordered once during our stay so I am willing to give the hotel the benefit of the doubt!

Not worth the money.”
I expected more from this hotel for the price. The sheets were dirty upon checking in. Was told that it was the design of the sheets but that wasn't flying with me. They did change it upon request. There was no hot shower at all. My girlfriend said there was hot water for her the first time. However, when I took a shower & any subsequent showers after were not hot. Just cold water.To make it worst the shower head was not really working. It was more like barely dripping water out of one hole. Called the front desk & they said that it was normal. Next the AC controls weren't working. Called staff & they said they would send maintenance to check it. No one ever came. Luckily the AC was working but it was just too cold & couldn't adjust the settings. Wanted to try the pool but it was under treatment until 12pm when it would be time for us to check out so didn't try it but it looked nice. There were also ants in the bathroom. Better than roaches but still not any more pleasant. Skip this hotel. The only good thing about this hotel was the breakfast. I liked it. I would have liked to eaten outside the room but they had a function going on in their dining area so they brought the food to our room. Oh, almost forgot about the late night call. They called around 11:30pm when I was already sleeping just to tell me if I could come to the front desk to sign the receipt for the bill! Really? Could it not wait until check out the next day?

One front desk lady is very disrespectful and haughty”
The place's location is ideal, however the hotel rooms need more cleaning. I had a very bad experience with one front desk lady, who at that time was on the evening shift, she was pretty BUT was haughty. Her voice and way of speaking was rough, and she did not endorse to the morning shift what was requested from her, which she said she will endorse to the morning shift. Sad but true. Hopefully this is an isolated case.

Disappointing, dirty pool and room, but good food”
We had high expectations for the Tierra but upon checking in the disappointment started with a dirty room and a very small bathroom with very poor amenities. The food in the restaurant was good but then if all we wanted was food we could have gone to SM City....... We will not stay there again and cannot recommend it.

I enjoyed the stay it was very nice and quiet. The staff was very nice the showers were very cold. I like to be able to have a warm shower in the morning and at night. It was a good location easy to get to places. And also have some nice beaches to go to and swim the water is warm.
