More about Bandung Airport

Bandung may have outgrown the colonial charms that earned it the moniker ‘Paris of Java’, but that isn’t a bad thing. Rustic, colonial enclaves have been replaced with modern infrastructure that lures successful and creative people to this city from all over the archipelago. Visitors can find some of Indonesia’s best restaurants, art galleries and high-rise accommodation in Bandung.

Tourists from all over the world visit Bandung while on holiday in Java. And while some of the best attractions are outside the city, such as hot springs and volcanic peaks, the city center also has a lot to offer travelers.

There are several great places to shop in the city center. Jalan Cihampelas is the best place to launch a shopping tour, with its batik textiles, outlet stores and the massive Caihampelas Walk shopping mall. Other important malls in Bandung include Heritage and Paris van Djava shopping centers. Shopping centers like these are close to many hotels in Bandung.

There are several impressive Dutch colonial buildings, highlighted by the Gedung Sate, which is near Museum Pos. Museum Geologi is also housed in an old colonial building, and it includes exhibits about local volcanoes. The major cultural attraction is the Museum Asia Afrika, which hosted and is now a tribute to the world’s first Asia Africa Conference, held in 1955.
