            As the Title suggest, location was a + for us., we went to a concert at the Filmore and it was perfect, just a couple of blocks away from our place. The Hotel as many in Miami.... you have to expect small rooms and Catalina wasn’t the exception. Staff was very nice. On the negative side, the Restaurant(s) automatically adds to your check 18% tip, nothing wrong tipping but the service left much to desire, we left with the impression that because they get their tip regardless of their service they don’t put much effort. Overall we’ll recommend this hotel to friends and family.

            I arrived 11:00 am. Many people slept on sofa for wait check in 3 pm. Rather get room 4 pm. Receptionist charged credit card 100$ per room for security deposit and return within 7 days if nothing damage. Valet parking 42$ per night. Drink water bottle has no free ! Actually, he should provide 2 bottles per day ? We has deducted 4.69 per bottle. Check any damage in your room first. And take photos show them. Not happy to stay by scary. He looks like not friendly ASIA people. The lady before me can pay deposit by cash 300$. . But I can’t by his reason that I may make any Damage TV. I’m welcome pay cash 500$ for deposit but he said no.

            I Visited the Catalina this month from the 13th to 18th July 2018. Upon my arrival I was greeted by... NO ONE.. Front desk staff was busy dancing and singing along to loud music. They were attending to other clients and one would think this was a night club in full swing at 4pm.. Anyways with my injured leg my girlfriend and I struggled up to the front desk from the curb without any assistance from anyone with about 6 bags in tow. We got to the front desk checked in got the keys and a welcome note... Front desk clerk then proceeds "well our hotel comprises of 3 buildings your room is in the Dorset building which is on the left.. That's it no request for a bellboy no further directions to my room. Had to pass through the outdoor restaurant into the building (which smells weird but not necessarily bad like if someone puked.) no no this was left for when you step foot into the elevator which was utterly disgusting. The room itself was clean smells good however a bit of a weird layout..

            This hotel was definitely not for a business traveler. Other guests were wild. They also seriously misrepresented the facilities in terms of the pool. Though they charge you $20 a day resort fee (non negotiable), if you want to sit next to the pool on the rooftop deck you need to pay extra for seating--otherwise, you are relegated to the other side of the roof, with no view of said pool. That is just bad news. The photos of the other "bamboo' pool make it look much more luxurious than it actually was. It felt kind of seedy.

            I thought this was a luxary hotel”
            Booked a room here for a romantic getaway with my boyfriend who had never been to south beach. Smelled mildew upon arrival :( looked nothing like the pictures , very disappointed was surprised that there were two bars that offered free drinks after 7 , we were pleased lol. i was taken a back however on how we were treated by the hotel staff upon arrival. Our booking said that check in was at 3pm , we arrived around 330 and the room was not ready. reception was very rude when we explained to them that they were holding up our vacation.....there is free cofee in the lobby..... be careful because lyft drivers cant find iot,,,our rides kept patrking across the street.

            AWFUL EXPERIENCE!”
            AWFUL EXPERIENCE! MUST READ BEFORE BOOKING YOUR STAY HERE! We wasted a lot of time out of our trip and paid a LOT of money to stay here. Since we were unable to resolve our issue with the manager Laura (who is very hard to get a hold of and didn't seem to care about our experience,) we decided to write this review. When we first arrived we were put in a very OLD room which was run down, small, and just honestly disgusting. The bed frame was all ripped up and torn and the sheets had stains on them. The Hallway to get to the room was also filthy. We arrived very late and all the other rooms were sold out that night so they promised they would move us to a better room the following day. It was already frustrating because we couldn't unpack our stuff and get comfortable but we figured the new room would be better and we wouldn't have anymore issues. We were wrong. The next morning, the staff showed us a new room, but the entire floor of that building reeked with the smell of marijuana! They insisted that they would clean the hall and that the smell would go away, but that's not our problem and we refused to stay in a hallway that smelled so bad. Actually, we watched another man check-out of the hotel because of the smell. We asked to be moved to a new room and they said they couldn't move us until 3 pm and to come back. This was even more frustrating because we still coudn't unpack and really get to start enjoying our vacation. We went out for the day and came back a little before 3 pm, we went to our room to get our luggage and it was gone! They took it without asking us! We felt very uneasy since all of our personal items were in the bags and it was before 3 pm! We went down to the front desk and they said that they must of taken our stuff to the new room. The final room we stayed at was 1300 in the Dorset, this room was very nice and the complete opposite of the first room we stayed at. But of course, we had more issues. The AC did not work in this ro

            Okay so this was not that great of a hotel: 1. We couldn’t get into our room on the first day because none of the keys were working (the manager had to come and “program” the door 🤨) 2. There are no towel hangers in the bathroom. I know that sounds miniscule but it is so annoying. 3. There was no remote for the TV, guess it got lost? 4. There were blood stains on the bedsheet 5. The room smelled funky 6. The phone to call room service does not work at all. 7. Oh wait, THERE IS NO ROOM SERVICE. 8. Whenever you call the front desk (with your own cellphone) they never pick up. 9. It is loud 10. There are bright lights always flashing. 11. The thermostat never worked. Besides the location being amazing, this hotel was waaaay to expensive for it’s crappy quality. It was like a C grade motel.
