Barranquilla hotels & places to stay

The building is a bit dated, but it has character, and a beautiful pool area to lounge. The front desk folks were always trying to help, even though there was a bit of a language barrier, expect that in Barranquilla. All the employees were a good group of folks, one that made an impression was Nicholas, was a big help. The area around the hotel is so-so, during the day ok, maybe a bit shady after dark, decent location.

Not sure this hotel is located at very nice spot because of my staying for business. However every thing I needed is around this hotel. 5mins walk to a few restaurants. And people at this hotel are nice and helpful always.

Had a great stay in hotel intersuites. Every one is very helpful and the location is perfect. Miguel in the reception is the man and will help you with anything, like the rest of the people in intersuites. If you go to Barranquilla, don’t hesitate, choose hotel intersuites

I stayed two nights in this hotel. It is claean and simple, and well located in a safe part of the city. There is mall near by.

The best part of this hotel is the staff that work there! Always helpful, attentive and patient. A great hotel for a couples retreat in the city. I can not comment on the Spa facilities but they seemed to be pretty busy. As a business traveler or someone who likes to workout in the gym I would not recommend this hotel. The wifi is very poor and disconnects often. The gym has a lot of equipment that looks good but works poorly or not at all. The pool is nice but being on the small side you must pick your times to go when there is not so many people.

The hotel is a very nice and modern building centrally located with a very friendly and professional staff. Buffet breakfast is awesome and includes both, international as well as local cosine.

really great place to stay, we were looking for a place near my fiances family in barranquilla nd it was perfect, they also had a friendly staff and great ammenities in the hotel. the breakfast is also terrific.

I found the hotel rather dull and there was nothing of interest nearby, however the pool was good.

The hotel is very clean and modern-designed. The room is very nice, too. Very clean and comfortable. When I visited Cartagena, there wasn't hair dryer in the room, so I supporsed that it is normal not to use it in the Caribbean area. But in this hotel, I'm so glad I could use hair dryer. I reserved this hotel by Agoda, and I missed the explanation about tax, so the price per night was higher than I expected. This is the only point that I felt bad. The central of the city is located a little bit far from the airport, and it took 30-40 min from airport of Barranquilla.

I stayed here during Carnaval and this place surpassed my expectations! I had a nice modern room with an amazing bed and pillows, hot shower, and a fridge!

A really nice, clean, and modern hotel. The hotel was not full, so staff was very flexible about early check in late check out.

This place was a bit over my normal budget but after over a week roughing it in a budget hotel in Minca and a cheap apartment in Santa Marta I needed a couple of nights comfort and particularly a hot water shower! This hotel is pretty new and the rooms were great and what you would expect at this price point. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful and at least one spoke good English. Wifi worked well. The jacuzzi on the roof was pleasant to relax during the heat of the day. Although it had only 3 pieces of equipment I also made use of the small gym. The hotel is located within 10 minutes walk of a large mall with plenty of places nearby to eat and drink, including an Italian place virtually next door. There is a big supermarket nearby too. The area seemed pretty safe and I never felt ill at ease there even late in the evening.

I have stayed at the Movich Buro 51, six times over the past year (80 days). The staff is friendly, courteous and very helpful, the wi fi has good speed. They have exceptional breakfasts with many selections, there are also lots of close by restaurants, if you do not wish to dine in the hotel all the time. There are two major shopping malls with-in easy walking distance, the area seems safe (although I did most of my outside activities during daylight hours) . The pool area and patio are very good places to take advantage of. If you should you have a complaint it will be handled expediently and will be corrected to your satisfaction. Be careful of crossing the streets for there are two busy streets next to the hotel, they have walk areas and stop lights but drivers do not always adhere to them, LOL . Over-all I have been highly pleased with the Movich and will continue to enjoy my stays there I am sure.

Staff was very helpful when our room reservation was lost (not the hotel’s fault) and gave us a temporary room until ours was available the next night. They also printed our boarding passes for our flight. Good breakfast. All staff were very friendly.

A hotel with 5 stars you expect a certain standard. The only 5 stars we can give are for the swimming pool and the parking. The hotel are completely run down. The rooms are definitely a standard not worth many stars. Not even a clock radio neither coffee maker. Bath room - was probably nice 20 years ago. Water taps give nearly no water - hot water not existing. Air conditions are the type you put in the wall (not split or central) air plugs should be supplied, sound like helicopter. Culinary restaurant the only culinary are the prices - meals can not be recommended. The staff not or very bad instructed. It could be so good but fail in all aspects of a 5 star hotel.

I stayed here during Carnival so prices were understandably hiked. It was only a 5 minute walk to the main Carnival route so was ideal for this. It is a little hard to give marks out of 5 for Value and Location for that reason. Outside of Carnival time the location is a bit of a walk from the main shopping areas with restaurants and bars which would appeal to travellers. However, there are plenty of local style restaurants and bars nearby - I used the closest one a couple of times and they were friendly enough. The place is good value for money at their normal rates. I had one of the rooms with a small balcony. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was tiny though. There is 24 hour security so it is not a problem getting in if you have had a late night. Absolutely the best thing about the place though is the friendly owners and staff. There is one young lad who speaks decent English but most have very little. They were always happy to chat and greet you with a smile.
