Superior room has no mini bar and refrigerator but it was meet santika standard. Swimming pool area need major refurbishment. Due high level Chlorine contain in the pool, you can actually smell it.. and seems water didn't well regulated, we refuse to use it. Breakfast variety is the best in town as well as the room service. We highly recommend santika bengkulu for people traveling with family, business, or the first timer in bengkulu.

location right beside the Universitas Bengkulu, so it's perfect if you have business in universitas bengkulu. don't need anyvother transportation just walk!. They also offer some menus for breakfast. Room is nice, but yeah quiet small (I know it, typically budget room in a big city). but everything in a room works really well. Unfortunately, there's no windows.

The hotel is quit good, although it is 1 star hotel, the room is spacious. It is just 50 meters from Museum Rumah Fatmawati, and walking distance to Museum Seokarno's exile house. It's also walking distance to Pantai Pasir Panjang, a wonderful beach in Bengkulu. Go to city center in Suprapto street also only may be 70 meters. It also near the souvenir shops. And the b...

And the best of it. In front og your hotel you can find public transport. In Bengkulu even you want to rent a car or taxi is very difficult. Luckily our hotel near the public transport. But unfortunately in my room toilet, the closet little beat smelly when I flash out. But over all it's a recommended hotel in Bengkulu, especially if you concern about budget.

I stayed here because the original hotel booked was full so I wan advised to stay here. The staff can not speak English at all and kept asking for payment from me. The room is very very standard, its basically staying at your friend's home and dont expect any kind of service.

I'm not so picky about places to stay. As a backpacker after traveling a few days in Sumatra, I got used to hotel standard all around this big island so I didn't expect anything spacial for the price I had to pay. In short I assumed every hotel in Sumatra is a lot overprice compared to other SE countries such as Malaysia, Vietnam or even Thailand. But I had the worst e...

In short I assumed every hotel in Sumatra is a lot overprice compared to other SE countries such as Malaysia, Vietnam or even Thailand. But I had the worst experience ever in this place. I arrived Bengkulu and this hotel early in the morning by public bus from Padang. At first I guessed all the staffs thought I was a stinky homeless indonesian (that didn't surprise me after a long journey and I'm Thai who looks a lot like local people). I don't know thier language and they don't understand english at all but I guessed from thier manners & gestures which meant "Go away!". I tried to say "I've already booked a room via Agoda" and showed my voucher but it didn't sound anything to them. Luckily, one of the staff finally figured out what "Agoda" is. But that was just the begining of the story. For 2 days, the staffs kept bothering me million times to pay for the room in cash even I'd tried to explain that I'd already paid the full price via Agoda. I'm not quite good in speaking english but I think it should be clear enough to communicate with any hotel & airport staffs but this hotel's staffs didn't understand english at all. Luckily (again), a staff who know what "Agoda" is, explained my situation to their coworkers then I can check out & get out of this place with less problems. The hotel facilities was very bad too. There was a bathtub with full of water but that meant their pipe water didn't work, no hot water, no shower at all. The location is very near the long beach, it's clean & beautiful beach than the other ones in Sumatra but the hotel is far from anything else. You have to walk at least 0.5 km before you can find food places in the evening.

I was stay in the guest house with my mom, and feel like we were in our own home. The hotel were so nice in hommy decorative with a small fish pool. The aircon in my room didn't cope with the heat (although others in our group said their aircons were OK). The room of one of our group was not cleaned, breakfast tray not removed, and when staff were informed, nothing happened to rectify the situation. The room of one of our group was not cleaned, breakfast tray not removed, and when staff were informed, nothing happened to rectify the situation. The office worked OK when the lady in charge was present, but otherwise, staff were unable (not empowered?) to carry out requests satisfactorily. If you ask them to book a car, be prepared to wait 45 minutes after agreed time. For $50 AUD a night, there must be much better hotels in Bengkulu.

It's a weird. I finished my payment about 10PM in the morning, but resepsionist allowed me to check in eaely. Luck me. When i saw the room, its clean, good interior, good facility, but.. the key of the room not using automatic card, yeah, with the manual key. bad smell in bath room. and i dont they didnt put airfreshness or something. but, i like the location because ...

Traveler impressions of Bengkulu
Bengkulu was ok but it was not summer season so maybe better then. It needs a regular street rubbish collection or street cleaners.
paths repaired would be good. It does not seem to be ready for foreign travellers. It is not a place I would recommend unless you had transport to get around the place.
go to the historical and cultural site, or do the bussines. go to "sungai suci" beach. the beach is not so pretty as bali's but quiet nice.
Bengkulu is very small city, it has a lot of history such as British Colonial that you can see from the beautiful Fort Marlborough.
There is also museum that still well maintained, the museum house of Fatmawati, the wife of Indonesian founding father. Soekarno exile house in Bengkulu, that also still preserved and well maintained. And if you like nature especially beach. You must go to Pasir Panjang Beach. White sands that strecth more than 10 km, with jogging track. It's amazing when I go jogging in the morning around 1,5 hours in the beach. You must try it!!!
The best time to visit this place is anytime except the Hari Raya. Because a lot f local people who works overseas or outside from the city is going back home to celebrate with family.
we can see many historical indonesian and foreign culture from the fort or many building there. interesting.
Bengkulu (english = Bencoolen) is a historical city which have a Rafflesia flower as a thew. Beside its historical site such as Malborough Fortree, Soekarno's House and Siti Fatimah's Hose, also have a beatiful beach with the longest lenght as 14 km.
It also have the rain forest so rich with the flora and fauna
