Beppu hotels & places to stay

We arrived late at night and could not locate the hotel route. As we happened to be outside a police station, the police on duty immediately came to our rescue and pointed us to the right way, about 10 - 12mins walk with our luggage. A nice and safe start to our Beppu vacation. We are grateful for the patience and understanding of Kamenoi Hotel's staff on duty on 11 Nov night. We had overlooked our check out date in Beppu but Kamenoi hotel's staff helped to call our Kyoto hotel to keep our rooms . Knowing that we had to pay for rooms in both Beppu and Kyoto for the same nite, Kamenoi Hotel kindly offered the same room rate as we had paid via Agoda nearly a year ago. Cheers to the hotel staff for his helpfulness. Our 6 bedded room was enormous though rather dim at the writing cum makeup table. The onsen was so good that we took our baths there for 4 nites instead of using the bath in our hotel room. Great hotel to stay in for relaxation.

I love the stay. Although this hotel is quite more expensive than other hotels in Beppu and located quite far from the Beppu station, you will not regret once you get there. There is a free shuttle bus service and the driver was really polite. The room is unbelievably huge and perfect clean. The view was great. You can see city, mountain and ocean at the same time. Two pools were awesome. There are six rides and two mini pools in Aqua beat which only opens in Summer. I recommend you to bring your own tubes as rental fee is quite expensive. The spa was fantastic. All the staffs were really kind. I did not book the dinner and breakfast as I planned to go to local restaurants. Local restaurants near the station were great. I stayed here just one night, but the next time, I would love to stay here at least 2 nights as there are so many things to enjoy.

for those taking buses to beppu this is the best location. Bus from yufuin stop right in front of the hotel. Bus stop to fukuoka is just across the road outside Starbucks but have to take the stairs underpass across. Beppu station is just 7-8 mins walk away. Visit the tourist information centre for discount to entrance fee. Buffet breakfast at JPY500 is cheap but I didn't managed to try it.

The hotel itself is located pretty far from the main part of Beppu. We had rented a car during our trip to Japan so this wasn't a big problem for us, but I would figure that people without a car would have to get a cab to get to the hotel. Aside from the location, other aspects of the hotel are just wonderful. At check-in, we were welcomed by the staff with warm towels and complementary welcome tea at the main lobby, where the full-glass windows reveal a full-span view of the ocean. Females are then taken to a room where you can choose your yukata from a variety of selections (you can even choose the ribbon that wraps around the yukata!). We stayed at the Superior room with open-air bath. The room was spacious with multiple components, including a small tatami room. There are two public baths at the hotel so make sure to check out both! I personally recommend going to the one on the first floor in the morning to watch the sunrise. Overall, would definitely recommend this hotel!!

When you step into the hotel, it’s almost as nice as the pictures that are online. I love the modern/traditional fusion Japanese design of the hotel and the cleanliness of the hotel. Things also look very new, so we felt very comfortable using all the facilities at the hotel and everything in the room. I also love the view of Beppu from the hotel/hotel room(I got a 2nd floor room). But the only downside of having the nice view is the hotel is up on a hill and you have to drive or take taxi to the there. The hotel is around 5-10mins to the town, and I had a rental car, so it was not really a problem for me.

In my room, the TV didn't work well but I just didn't ask the staff to fix it because I didn't need it. What I loved the most from this hotel was nice ocean view from the room and spa area. I would definitely recommend this place to people who'll visit Beppu. Also, it's pretty close from Beppu station(10mins by foot) and located right next to Beppu Tower so it's very easy to find. Shopping malls - Tokio and Youme town - are also close to the hotel. And both dinner and breakfast were hearty. The staff was kind and guided me to my room and explained about the facilities. Staying here was one of the happiest moments in my life. I could perfectly refresh myself.

It's tricky to get a good Ryokan hotel in Beppu since the good ones are typically very expensive. This hotel is reasonably priced, without compromising too much on the stuff you hoped for. Amazing ocean view from the rooms. Excellent staff. Hot spring (onsen) outdoor, indoor and also private (by booking on arrival). Each room also have hot sprint water in the bathrooms.

The hotel location is superb as it is just a 5 mins walk from Beppu station. As you may take all kinds of transport from Beppu station, Daiiti hotel can be a good base for you. The hotel is extremely clean and new. Room is small but just nice for a couple. All the basic amenities are complete and they even provide us with towel, shampoo and shower gel to go to Onsen ! The staffs are really really friendly and helpful. They speak basic English and give us a lot of suggestions on where to go and where to eat. On the first night as we arrived late, staff even helped us to heat up our food ! Besides that, they also serves hot coffee and ice water in the lobby for all the guests. Overall, this hotel is really good ! Will definitely choose this hotel if I ever come to Beppu again!

It was my first experience in Ryokan and it's turn out very impressive in Seikaiso. It is better than I expected that other comment are say this hotel is dated but I found myself this hotel clean and look like it has been renovated. What I like the most is rooftop private onsen that you may soaked yourself in a warm water whilst overlook toward ocean, what's a great experience a hotel can offer!. Dinner and breakfast come in a full course more than 10 dished of from Sashimi to A5 beef as well as breakfast. Staff is nice and service mind although little english spoken we'll find a way to communicate and get what you want. Room is very clean and decorated in traditional japan style futon and mattress also comfy though city view can see a Beppu tower from a window, Overall recommended this hotel for people who wish to stay at Beppu.

This is a very nice hotel. The rooms are big and clean. The window can be widely open for fresh air. Magnificent view for sun rise on the roof top hot water tub. The hotel prepared a baby crib for our little baby which was very considerate. Breakfast was with slight variety each day. The hotel is near to 2 big department stores which is very convenient for us to prepare meals for our baby. Will consider coming back to this hotel if we will visit Beppu again. Since this hotel is family and children friendly, if it will provide laundromats, then it will be perfect.

Although I walked about 10 minutes to arrive the hotel, I feel convenient to reach the JR station and the another shopping mall. I will recommend to my friend and will come back to this hotel on my next trip to Beppu.

Location, friendly staff, hot breakfast It was all great! Beppu hotel location is close to the subway station. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel entrance. I will stay again when re-visiting.

We had best stay in this ryokan from our whole Japan trip. The location is so convenient, close to JR station, beach, bus stops, shops, restaurant and everything else. The onsen is good and there is free unlimited coffee and teas (green, black and chinese) in level 2 and 3. There is big lounge with shelf full of mangas for guest to relax and enjoy quiet time after all day sightseeing. All the staff are very friendly. They always go beyond their duties to help. Upon check out, I accidently left my purse in the room. One of the staff drove a car around tried to find us to return the purse. Definitely will recommend this ryokan to everyone visiting Beppu.

We stayed 2 night and 3 days at Hana Beppu. That hotel has a beautiful garden kind staff and clean rooms and nice restaurants. If you are going to Hana Beppu you'll take pleasure your vacation. One of the hotel staff can speak Korean.

Frist, Location is very good. close to beppu station. The accommodation is pretty and a lot of Japanese traditional. The room was clean and cozy and the staff was very kind. Especially, the hot spring was good and I loved the breakfast very much.

Near to Beppu station, 5 minutes walk. Provides free tea bag, coffee machine with few selection of coffees and other kitchen facilities. Even though I booked only a doubke decker bed, I was enjoying the whole room since nobody is sharing the other bed. They allowed you to put yr luggage in the locker for free though you have checked out. Good one. No towel is provided. You need to rent or get yr own towels, toothpaste and toothbrush. For me it's ok without toothpaste and toothbrush as I'm ready but for towel most of other hostel will provide.

Couple different onsens for private and public use. Hotel is well maintained. Staff pick up us at the JR station (need do call and book in advance ) and arranged everything perfectly.

One of the best hotel in Beppu. Ranked no.1 premium hotel in Kyushu. Open april 2016. Spacious room. Nice View and beautiful japanese garden. Breakfast is also nice.

We took Kamenoi bus from beppu station west exit to Umijikokumae bus stop (330yen), then cross the road and walk to the right (downhill). Then you will find entrance of Oniyama Hotel. There is also another entrance at the opposite side of hotel if you leave the bus at Kannawa bus stop. The staff can speak english very well. Our room is 'Japanese Style Room with Private Bathroom' which has bathroom and toilet. From window, you can see Umijikoku entrance and beautiful mountain view. The public onsen is wonderful and peaceful. We also try free family bath (can use if it's available, no reservatoin) which is private but small and no view). Dinner is good. We informed them in advance that we don't eat beef and they provided other choices. Breakfast is buffet which all you can eat. Mostly are japanese style. If it's peak time, you might need to wait in queue. Hotel provide free shuttle bus from Hotel to Beppu train station at 10AM which need to make reservation in advance. Only 1 trip.

I really like this ryokan. Is just less than 10mins walk from the station. And there’s private outdoor onsen that you can book when you check in. Very lovely and friendly staff who recommends us where to eat in Beppu.

The staff and price for this hotel were wonderful. However, the hotel is not good for English speaking visitors since communication is difficult. We wanted to reserve dinner at the last minute, but no. You can't. We tried to reserve dinner for the following day and were told the price was about 6,300 yen per person, but we were not given a menu for options. If I am paying for a steak dinner or prime rib, 6,300 yen is a great price. However, I do not want to book dinner at that price unless I know what I am going to eat. Having valet parking sounds great, but it is also an inconvenience. I'd rather park my own car and be able to leave in a split second. The worst part is the mattress in the hotel. We slept so uncomfortably for 2 nights. The mattress has no cushion at all. I am sure it's great for Japanese people who love that, but a mattress with cushion is appreciated by Americans. The staff were very kind and sweet, but stay elsewhere if you want a good night's sleep.

I was at Beppu for two nights. First night we stayed in an onsen resort, second night we thought to stay at somewhere more down to earth near to locals, so we got a room in this guesthouse with futon. When we reached the guesthouse, there were no staffs around, only a few other guests at the outdoor common area. There was no notice board or anything to inform us regarding on the absent of the staff. We thought the staff had went home, without passing us our keys prior to that. We were panic for around 30min as we didn't see anyone coming back and thought we might have lost our bookings, as I also noted on the email they sent that they might not have saved a room for us if the guesthouse is full though we've booked it in advance. Anyway long story short, the staff actually went out without having a sign notify their guests... After checked in, our room was a dusty double room with a no proper cupboard (it was made by random wood and boards), there was only one shower room for the whole guesthouse (they expect us to go to local onsen bath in which we did).

Great place to stay in, wonderful scenic location in Beppu with wonderful facilities like private onsen and great breakfast selection a 7km to 9km away from Beppu station so we had to use the shuttle and taxi but the shuttle service driver was a very nice gentleman, he dropped us off the one of the Beppu hells even if its not in his assigned stops Great customer service from the staff too!

Even the hotel was quite old but the property are compensates with a good service, welcome drink (Yakut) and provides both dinner and breakfast. Appreciated to stay overnight here and absolutely to come back when I plan to visit Beppu again.

A nice recently renovated 4-storey suburban guesthouse with a warm and comfy wooden interior design. The cozy and comfortable family rooms are simple tatami with balcony, with amenities such as futons, air-con/ heater, TV, a small table and chairs, refrigerator, kettle, safe box, wash basin and a restroom. Do buy and bring your own towels. We stayed for a week to enjoy a free and easy relaxation vacation at the various onsen and hot springs in Beppu. We booked a family room so we had a whole bedroom to ourselves. Even though the kitchen and the shower room to bathe is shared with guests, by which we must understand that it is their traditional culture and way of living and socialise. The staff are courteous, friendly, helpful and have basic English proficiency.

it was a huge room for 2 of us, thus we can relax there. moreover the location of hotel is good, 5mins walk to Beppu station and Youme Town department store. Also around the hotel, there are many restaurants, so it is good to find place to eat.

Close to Beppu Station and around 7 minutes to reach it from hostel. The staff at reception is very kind and helpful. He explained all of our inquiries and recommended some nice restaurant and onsen to us.

Great experience, the room was very tidy and the staff was extremely helpful. Even though we stayed on the ground floor we had no issues whatsoever. Food was good too especially the chicken pot. Both dinner and breakfast using local ingredients was a dining experience. The onsen tub could have been a bit bigger, and make sure you don't check in too late to get a car space. Would recommend !

Free Onsen and the room is very clean , free parking also. The location is quite far and need to have car to go to city. Breakfast is a set menu which we can’t choose. Free laundry and dryer machine to use also. I really like this place !
