Birmingham hotels & places to stay

We had an executive room, which gave us access to the executive lounge. This was fabulous value as free drinks and canapés are served from 6-9pm. Rofuto restaurant was very impressive and breakfast the next morning was one of the best we've had at any hotel. It's a bit of a walk to Birmingham New Street, 15 mins or so, but an über taxi cost less than £3.50. I'd put the hotel at more of a 5 star than a 4. Much more luxurious than the other 4 star Birmingham hotels we've stayed in.

Easy hotel to find. Friendly staff. Clean room (including towels, toiletries). Although designed to be compact, there is still ample room for 1-2 people. Large comfy bed. Free Wi-Fi worked great. Subsidised parking is a fantastic added bonus - saving almost £10. Very pleased with my stay at the Bloc Hotel in Birmingham and will stay there again when I am next there.

We got this hotel very cheap for a one night stop over in Birmingham after a night at the glee club. For the price we paid (less than 30 pounds) we were happy with it, the room was basic but clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit tired and outdated in the corridors etc but for what we paid we couldn't really complain. You get what you pay for, if you just need somewhere to lay your head in Birmingham and aren't looking for the ritz then this is ideal. A twenty minute walk from new street and the bull ring, its not in the best area of Birmingham so I would maybe recommend getting a taxi late at night if you're on your own but we managed alright on a Friday night.

The hotel has lots of facilities for me to use. One of the highlights of the hotel for me is the taxi that they provide from the hotel. The taxis are Mercedes Benz E-Class and the fare is relatively cheap compare to many other taxi company. For such a big hotel, the staff are very efficient. They very friendly and also helpful. The location is ideal for me because it's located next to the NEC which means that it will be quiet at night rather then the city. If I do need to get into the city, they provide shuttle bus to Birmingham international train station which has regular service to the city itself. Another alternative is using the taxi which cost me less than 20 pounds in a very comfy ride.

This was my 2nd or 3rd stay at the Britannia. I was fortunate to get a deal on the price through Agoda which made it extremely good value. It was an incredibly hot day and sadly a lady on a higher floor was very vocal throughout the afternoon and night. I pity those who were in the rooms above, below and adjacent to her. We had 3 single rooms ( mother, myself, my son), all were in a row. My mother had to close the window due to the moaning and groaning, and then spent a sleepless night in a hot and sticky room with no air con. Luckily I had headphones with me. Of course it was not the fault of the hotel, and if it had continued the 2nd night we would have mentioned it to the staff at reception. The reception staff are great, very helpful, efficient, polite, great customer service. We didnt have breakfast in the hotel so cant comment on that. Will always check the price on this hotel when visiting Birmingham as it could not be better situated for a trip to Birmingham for those on public transport.

The hotel, facilities, location are all great. It's a good 4* hotel, has some dated decor but you don't mind it as it fits with the hotel well. The views of the city from the 20th floor are brilliant too. The major let down was the staff. Front desk and housekeeping. We stayed for 2 nights, the housekeeping didn't change the bedsheets, or the complimentary water, tea and glasses were not even touched, still there from when we used them the first night. When we saw this we didn't really mind, we phoned front desk about having this sorted, they informed us it will be done. On our way out to spend the day outside the hotel, we just gently reminded front desk again and we were reassured it would be sorted. We returned back to the hotel approximately 8 hours later, there was no change. We asked front desk again to have this sorted, which for is tea addicts was now becoming a problem!, again this time the front desk apologised and said it will be sorted, we went out for an evening meal. When we returned again- no change. When we put it a bit firmly to front desk this time, the problem was sorted in 2 minutes. It was a real let down as he enjoyed our stay at the hotel but having to tell staff 4/5 times to do a simple task was a big disappointment. I would recommend staying here, it's probably the best hotel in Birmingham, however, a bit of a let down by certain individual staff. There is room for parking for a charge of £9.30 for 24 hours, but it is small, there is a 24 hour pay and display literally 30 second walk from the hotel that charges £6 for 24 hours.

Very comfortable bed, good shower with plenty of hot water. Kitchen facilities had everything you need, including dishwasher. Parking can be a slight issue as there are limited street parking spaces. Although there is the opportunity to purchase a space at a cost of £10 pn All in all I thought the apartment was excellent value for money and I would definitely stay there again when working in Birmingham or surrounding areas. The staff were very helpful and polite.

This is by far one of the best hotels in Birmingham . We visit twice a year and always have a great stay . Front of house staff are wonderful , as are the housekeeping. The Week time breakfast is slightly better than the weekend and i mean only marginally. Best of you prepay when you check in for there's a 3pound difference in price as to if you just strolled down . Coffee is very good and I can't say enough about the selections .

This is a great place to stay if you want to see the Jewellery Quarter and other places in central Birmingham. The apartment we had was very nice and a (small) Coop store was close by for food and other basics. StayCity is about 15 minutes walk from the main railway station and 5-10 minutes walk from the Jewellery Quarter.

I was with my family ( all girls and a young child ) checking out from hotel heading to London. We have a few big luggages and shopping begs to carry and we were on our way to the nearest train station. The front desk staff saw us in this situation and in his first intention he showed us short cut by leading us to the back door. This little action has saved us a lot of time and energy. As such, we managed to get to the train on time once we reached train station. Or else, we will need to wait for the next train probably in 20 minutes to half an hour. By the time we reached London, it was before 11pm. I'm sure if this staff didn't show us the short cut, we will be late for the train, late to reach london, late to check in hotel in London. Very clean, good services, friendly staffs and it's located in the centre of Birmingham city centre. I have nothing to say, it was truly an enjoyable stay for three nights in Apart adagio Birmingham! I sincerely recommend it to others, especially for those who travel with children and family trip.

We were looking for a cheaper option than the Hilton for a weekend event at the NEC and the Ibis was the perfect solution. A 5 minute walk to the convention center with disabled access to the exhibition halls. The hotel was about half the price of the Hilton (a 15 minute walk away). Breakfast was included and the staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms feature everything you would expect and the hotel includes a nice bar with plenty of room to socialize with friends. There is a gym, but we didn't make use of it. Oh and there are wild rabbits at the back of the hotel which are fun to watch!

Thumbs up! Had a enjoyed stay at Campanile Birmingham Hotel. It is only 5-10 minutes away from the city centre and it's best to drive there. Open spaced parking at the entrance is free. Staff were genuinely friendly. Furnishings were slightly old but very well maintained. Clean towels & linens were provided. Value for money!

probably one of the highest building in the city centre, great view of birmingham. near bullring for shopping and have loads of food and restaurant nearby. 5mins walk from birmingham new street station. kitchen in the room and there are oranges and milk in the fridge, there is a capsule coffee machine as well. Some books and board games can be found near the sofa where you can read or play with your friends and family which is really nice.

Located 10 km out of Birmingham City, the Hotel caters for a range of guests. The room I stayed in had a single bed, wardrobe, TV, tea/coffee facilities, bath/shower, toilet, basin. A complimentary breakfast was available on the 2 days that I stayed, with a selection of cereals, toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, tomato, mushrooms and fresh fruit. Tea/coffee/juice was also available. The Hotel itself is set back from the main road, and is relatively quiet. However, on the 2nd night of stay, guests in the adjoining room had returned from a night out and were quite noisy until 3:30am, making it difficult to sleep. Other than this, I would recommend this hotel as representing excellent value for money.

Really smart hotel, upscale, and perfect for NEC, Genting Arena, Birmingham international Tain station etc. Gorgeous bathroom & shower. And lots of places to eat & shop in the same centre as the hotel (Resort World). Would recommend for solo and couples

We were visiting the Christmas market and wanted to find a hotel close enough to the station and the market itself to accommodate 4 people. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted and the check in process was handled efficiently (love the coffee machine in the reception area). The apartment was lovely, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a separate lounge/kitchen. The kitchen was well kitted so that you could prepare a meal if you wanted to, everything looked shiny and new. We particularly appreciated the welcome basket which included fresh milk and a range of teas, coffees, hot chocolate and cookies. We had a minor issue with the dishwasher but the manager in charge quickly came to fix it and it was working fine after that. Would stay again when we next visit Birmingham.

Had a lovely stay in Birmingham, Hotel is really beautiful. I had a standard double room which was very spacious. I was a little disappointed in the small bathroom and felt it didn't quite go with the theme of the room. Also the bed was Huge, but was very uncomfortable and hard and the pillows provided were too soft. I didn't sleep well to be honest. Apart from that It's a great hotel location is brilliant being in mailbox. Would stay again.

We stayed here for one night while our children attended a concert in Birmingham. The hotel was very central and only 10 minutes walk from our venue. Close to shops, restaurants and bars. Very clean and the room was very comfortable. Thank you.

We used the hotel as a base from which to go for a meal, drinks and entertainment. The hotel was perfect for what we wanted - good value for money, clean, spacious and central location. The only downside about the location is the noise from outside in the early hours but this was to be expected and doesn't detract from the fact that if we were looking for a place to stay in central Birmingham for a night we would definitely stay there again.

what a find, this hotel is managed incredibly well, all the staff have a view "can do" attitude. based in the heart of birmingham city in the chinese district, all the shopping you can handle at the bull ring, i left my wife to shop while i attended business at the nec she was overwhelmed with the quality of shops and markets. dinner was a breeze, every style of food possible within 10 mins from hotel. i normally stay at a 4* 10 mins away but will return next opportunity. take the wife most shops are reduced costs against london south (earn brownie points)

Our second stay at MacDonald UK is impressive and very enjoyable. This is my first stay at MacDonald Burlington Birmingham, Great Hotel! Unique! Overall service is very pleasant, English breakfast is excellent. This hotel is very suitable to traveller not only business and also for pleasure. It is only 10 minutes walk from new street rail station. It is also is easy to find the hotel from the fascinating city center of Birmingham. More surprises are all city attractions are nearby and in walking distance.

December is a frantically busy for all hotels offering festive party opportunities. This year, other diners were catered for much better than previously - well done on listening to my previous feedback. A dip in the lovely warm pool was very welcome after a busy day loading, driving, unoading anf setting up for a textile event on the Saturday. The chocolate sphere dessert was sinfully scrumptious.

Nice stay for one night with my son who was in Birmingham looking for accommodation before starting uni. Found the staff friendly and helpful and we were very comfortable in our twin room at the back of the hotel. Room was very quiet. A number of good value restaurants within 5-10 mins walk although breakfast at the hotel was pretty good. No complaints and would stay there again.

I had a very pleasant and comfortable stay in Birmingham Central Backpackers. Breakfast was healthy and appetising; a choice of fruit, jams and bread including tea or coffee. The staff were polite and sometimes talkative. The bunk beds in the large dormitory are quite old; the metal frame creaks often. Make sure you wear ear plugs! The kitchen, shower room and toilet facilities are clean and well maintained. The common room has ample furniture, space, DVDs, games and literature. A nice flat screen TV is available for use. Overall the value for money is very good.

We enjoyed our stay very much its the perfect location to go to shows at N E C and L G arena also ideal for overnight stay if flying from Birmingham airport. They kept the bar and coffee shop open late so the people coming from the shows could still get a drink. The breakfast was excellent lots of variety also cooked food replaced very quickly so always nice & hot Will certainly stay again

We are really grateful and thankful to the Receptionists and restaurant waiters that deliver the friendly services once we arrived at Novotel Birmingham International. It was a pleasant stay for us and we enjoyed it! We really would like to come back again!!
