The beach is very beautiful and the wave is good. It is expensive to stay in the island. But if possible, select a hotel with beach.
The sun is horrible, be sure to use sunscreen.
One of the last paradise in the world. Lamescapes ara amazing and water is completely clear. Awesome snorkel, swimming with rays and sharks.
Comparatively expensive-owing to it's remoteness. Very self contained if staying on the exclusive splits (ie Four Seasons hotel).
Must get hotel with private beach, as only public beach is very small. People very friendly and welcoming (Tahitian and French spoken mainly, but most hotel employees speak English too). Environment very safe (no evidence of crime). Can be enjoyed on a relatively small budget if happy to buy food from local shops, as opposed to eat in restaurants all of the time. Would certainly recommend as an island for relaxation and water sports.
The most beautiful island I ever traveled and it is worth the comment that it is really the nearest place to the paradise.
Vaitape is the major settlement in the island. Locals are friendly and very accommodating.Do not forget to visit The world's famous Bloody Mary's restaurant and bar to have a memorable dining experience.
Over water bungalows are common sight in the island. A must see place.
