The small hotel is well situated in the historical center. Everything on walking distance. Staff was very friendly and helpful!!! Breakfast was good as well.

Top address in Cuenca. Very beautifull suites and rions. It was a Little noisy because of the Corpus Cristi Event.

I had a good stay at check inn bed and breakfast. The hostel is very big which makes it a bit impersonal but there weren’t too many people staying there, so it felt quite social. Breakfast is simple with tea or coffee, white bread, eggs, jam and butter and a banana. You cannot use the kitchen in the morning because they serve breakfast :/ everything is very spacious and the showers are hot.

The room was clean and tidy with an exit to the garden terrace. I had a bit of an issue with light: with door closed the room is a bit dark, the ceiling lights aren't very bright either. The check in and out was quick and friendly. Staff did its best. All in all it was a pleasant experience.

Location is excellent. There are road works to put in tram tracks just down the street but there wasn't any loud disruptions at night. But rooms were old looking, stains on floors. Most importantly, hot water only lasted for 1 minute then freezing cold, which is not OK when evenings can get below 10 degrees. The hostel owners also talked loudly in the foyer until 11pm every night.

Hotel is great, but not that child friendly. No rooms available for travellers with young children. We were forced to pay for 2 rooms. 3 adults and two young children.

Room was small but scrupulously clean. Breakfast was fine. Alex at front desk was a gem. Booked a hotel in the next city on my trip and negotiated a discount.

The Hostal Calle Angosta is a charming, family operated hotel within easy walking distance of the old city of Cuenca. The owner/managers and their staff are very friendly, attentive and caring. The property is in perfect condition and very well cared for. Rooms are well serviced and clean. Free WiFi service is available as is DirectTV in your room. The property is very secure and the main gate to the parking area is locked at night. The rooms at the rear of the property are absolutely quiet for sleeping. this hotel is great! breakfast is very nice. you can pick between three options and they have unlimited coffee, tea, and juice available as well as bread (sweet and savory) and cheese. the staff are really kind and helpful. check out is at 1PM which is nice if you have a late bus or flight. the room is comfy and clean. the lounging areas are really nice. the internet is maybe the best I've had in Ecuador. very fast upload and download speeds. I was able to Skype with no issues and stream movies. I would stay here again and again!

Very pleased. Bed average comfort, breakfast fine, not special. However, the ambiance is terrific and the staff is excellent. The Italian restaurant Mangiare bene is good.

Very comfortable, charming and unique hotel. They have made it very comfortable despite being a 180 year old converted mansion. The breakfast was delicious, best we had in Ecuador. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The doorbell system is a bit annoying but it does provide a high degree of security. Bathroom was nice with modern shower. Bit of street noise at night in the balcony room but not unexpected. They offered luggage storage for us (twice). Would stay there again! Highly recommend.

If you are looking for a swimming pool, sauna, or spa, move on. This hotel is NOTfor you. If you are looking for a clean, old world hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff, a very good breakfast included, and a location in the middle of El Centro, with easy taxi access, then this is the place for you.

Hotel Cuenca is the oldest hotel in Cuenca and has tons of character. It is currently going through some renovations but they are minimal. We found the hotel very comfortable and had extremely friendly and helpful staff. The decor of the hotel is very unique and makes for a very pleasant experience. The hotel is located in El Centro so the location is perfect for sightseeing. The staff put a few chairs out in front of the hotel during the day and it is a great place to just sit, relax and people watch. The restaurant in the hotel has good food and probably the best soup we had during our stay in Ecuador.

Room was away from the street but still very noisy. Lighting was very poor. Mold growing on ceiling in bathroom. Could feel that the floor underneath the ugly carpet was rotten. We could feel it when walking on it. Hotel in need of renovation.

This hotel is located in a great area for exploring historical sites. Just a block from the main square, it is difficult to locate parking. The hotel alleviates this problem by providing a secured car park right next to the hotel. The rooms are large, but can be loud if facing the street. A bathtub is provided, but no plugs. Lighting is extremely dim, so reading (even during the day) is more difficult.

This is a family-run business in a good location. All of the staff were very friendly and nice and helpful. The room was clean and the WiFi was good. Perhaps there was a bit of noise because of the hardwood floors throughout the facility. But other guests were considerate. I would stay there again!

One night stay.The hotel manager was so helpful.Rooms were beautifully decorated,perhaps a little small but would recommend the hotel to anyone.Clean comfortable and with a great breakfast(even a jaffle iron to make toasted sandwiches)

A great hostal located right in the historic district of Cuenca. Only a few minutes away (~10) from the bus terminal and airport. The owner is extremely friendly as well. Hot shower, comfortable bed, good wifi. Many eateries in the surrounding area as well. Would definitely recommend.

These folks bend over backwards to help, to ensure your comfort, to chat about the city, themselves, and they care enough to learn about you, too. They are 100% real. The hostal is a family home going back to the 1950s or older...

We stayed in both a triple & a double room on the first floor (reception area). The rooms have no natural light - NO OUTSIDE WINDOWS! The air is stale & when someone is cooking the smells fill these rooms. If you have only 1-2 nights - great! Any more & the darkness & smells may get you down ... On the weekend it was noisy with people coming back late at night (2am-4am) & ringing the doorbell for access. It's called a "Hostel" &, uniquely for Ecuador/Cuenca, does allow you to use a very small kitchen - only really suitable to make tea/coffee or boil eggs ...very simple but its OK. The wifi is Ok too on the reception area. Longer stays can get discounted rates ..$17 triple/$18 dble (that's total not /person). The staff speak very limited English (so sorry Soy no hablo Espanol either!) We wouldn't stay there again - there's lots of other options nearby in any case ...but if you're stuck it's Ok

This is a fabulous place with tons of character. The rooms are beautiful, the bed is super comfortable and the hostess is absolutely amazing. Sonia goes out of her way to make you feel at home, and she cooks a fabulous breakfast. Can't go wrong choosing this place.

The walls in this hotel are very thin. I could hear the sounds from the families staying around me including snoring at night and crying children. The room I was in had no external window, only a window into the hallway. The staff was very friendly and were willing to hold my bags after checking out before I moved to my next destination.

The staff here could not be nicer. The hotel is a great value at this price and the location is right in the middle of the city in the historic center. Really enjoyed my stay.
