"We really enjoyed our stay at capa maumere hotel. It was my boyfriends birthday on the date we arrived and all the staff greeted us singing happy birthday with a guitar, gave us a birthday cake and welcome cocktails. The location was lovely and the views were breathtaking. The pool area was gorgeous too, perfect place to relax watching the sunrise over the bay. The hotel was very clean and the rooms too. The room was big and had a nice bathroom. The hotel itself was very quiet and so felt lacking in atmosphere, it felt more geared up for business than tourists/travellers, the only thing it missed was somebody available to give us information on the local area such as things to do, places to eat, snorkelling spots, diving etc.... It's a new hotel ( only a month old) so perhaps this will still be developed in time. I'd recommend the hotel for a peaceful, stopover for a couple of nights of rest and relaxation! The food was okay, tasty, but overpriced in relation to the local area. Our other complaint were the portion sizes were small. We both ordered the same chicken dish and both got completely different siZed portions (both small) Apart from that we really enjoyed our time here. It's a bit pricier than anywhere else in the east of Flores, if they Improved the prices of the food or the portion sizes and had staff that spoke English to offer local tourist information then I think it would be well worth the money. So definitely give it a try!"

"We had a nice stay at the hotel, the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Especially after some of the dirty places we stayed in before, we felt comfortable enough to relax and spread our stuff out. The pool area is surprisingly not so bad. Hotel was very quiet- we wondered where other guests were. After our first night a bunch of sewage spewed from the drain in our bathroom which was gross but we were moved immediately, staff were always so helpful and friendly. We found a cockroach in our room on the second night, but after travelling through Flores we thought the room was excellent value compared to other places! Felt like a low class western hotel for a good price."

"In Maumere one does not have much choice of hotels or resorts, and none of them reach even 2 stars ... whatever websites say. Here is a small "resort" that really has no star rating at all. But the 5 air conditioned bungalovs are rustic but nice (the 2 small hotel blocks-do not bother!). There is small open air bar / restaurant with patio just above the sea. And serves good local food. And there is even a large conference room. Unfortunately this hotel is 12 kms out of Maumere, but you can rent a scooter to travel. The reall issue here is bad maintenance, non-existing room cleaning during your stay, and a management who does not know how to run a hotel, or how to serve hotel guests. And barely no English spoken (execept by the lady manager). When the manager was away for the day, water was cut ... and on my departure day the promised 05.30 breakfast did not materialize ; nor the sirport transport at 06.00. It was like the keys of the hotel had been left to kids. It took a lot of screaming to het a car to the airport ... 40 minutes after the designated time. So great place, great concept ... badly managed. Simply "no one cares" ... except the lady manager. And she cannot be there 24 by 7."
