The one thing however that stood out for me as a negative is that the Fancourt advert as shown on the tv channel is not representative of the demographic of South Africa at all. It features only white people in the advert. This to us was disturbing

It was a last minute booking, the staff was very friendly and helpful. It is little far from N2, but The stay was perfect for us. The rooms were spacious and clean. We loved the breakfast, with so many varieties... Best stay in our trip to the Garden route. I would definitely stay there again and recommend for everyone.

This is a wonderful place to stay. It is near the centre of George and beautifully laid out; but by far the best aspect is the hospitality offered by the owner and the chef. The care they take with guests is exemplary. I had a wonderful stay there and would recommend it highly to all travellers.

Do not expect more than what you pay for......houses are close to each other but neighbours were great and everything did quiet down at 22h00 at night. We had nice braai almost every night and the cottage and braai eare were cleaned every day. Althouw not close to the sea it is in a reachable distance to everything in the Garden route..........definately good vallue for money

I can't say enough good things about this wonderful guest house. It is so comfortable, and the time of year we were here made it quiet and relaxing. The pool looked very inviting, even though it was foggy and chilly the morning we left, so we'll have to save that for another visit. A lovely, filling breakfast with lots of choices sent us on our way. Karen was the perfect hostess in every way.

Me and my family have been to over 25 countries in North America, South America, Europe and Africa. I can say for sure that this was one of the best experiences we ever had. The place is amazing, very clean and facilities are great. The staff is so lovely. At one point, we couldn’t find a restaurant because it was Christmas night, and Cobus offered to cook us something. Breakfast seems like it was made by a chef, just so full of details. I give the Outeniqua Inn a 10 out of 10 without a doubt. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

If there is one thing I can complement, It is definitely the staff members. They are very helpful and friendly. They always try to assist. From the reception, to the bar, the security and the porters. I will definitely only come back for your staff service. There must be something you do right with your staff.

Calm, good environment and village feel. Good place for stay. The breakfast is good and enjoyable.

Set in a quiet spot but not too far from the CBD, friendly host and staff. Enjoyed the breakfast. All in all good place for a stop over.

We really enjoyed our stay in the self-catering Sugarbird accommodation. Beautiful bedroom + kitchen/living room space. Rene is a superb host. Location is good, nice neighbourhood, close to restaurants and grocery stores. George is a good location to explore the local sights

We stayed overnight here on our way from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth. Check in was very fast and staff were friendly. We found the a/c in one of our rooms was on full blast and the room v cold. It took some time with the help of reception to get it to blow less but ended up turning it off altogether. The glass door to the bathroom was coming off one of its hinges but it lasted us the one night. Other than that it was a pleasant enough stay. The evening meal menu was rather limited but it is a small hotel. It suited our needs but some might find it a bit constraining. We were the only ones in the restaurant so that perhaps is a indication. In summary a small hotel with friendly staff in a nice town and convenient for a journey on the Garden Route.

I had a great experience at this place. The room was very clean and the owner was kind. Will be coming back if I visit George again!

The guest house was more then my husband and I expected we know George is cold but they had electric blanks and fan heaters. The owner would check up on us once a day and was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be returning.

When I asked about the air-condition which took so long to warm, because it was very cold in George, we were not only given immediate attention, but was upgraded to a luxury suite. The staff especially the Reception Management were fantastic they were helpful, friendly and made sure we were comfortable. Thank you George Protea Hotel!

The good stuff: the staff were fantastic. I asked where to have my nails and hair done and they phoned and booked for me, and arranged a driver. I asked where to purchase certain items and they found out or advised me where to go. Negatives: the water from the pipes was brown for the first two days.

This B&B is just off the N2 in George. This location is very close to a good selection of takeaway food outlets and restaurants. The Turkish theme restaurant had food other than Turkish. The food and the wine menu was good. I would stay at this B&B again.

The room was delightfully spacious, well decorated and very comfortable, The house and gardens were very nicely done and was a perfect place for us to stay.

What a joy to stay at this place. Was great to have a fully equipped kitchen with a spacious living room and separate bedroom. There were 4 of us and we all enjoyed our stay very much. Would stay again if ever in the area.

I Would recommend to anyone. Is out of town so no restaurants within about 12 km but house has a wonderful outdoor bbq setup adjacent to the balcony overlooking the beautiful Herold's Bay and George has great meat at Van Rensburgs and wonderful fruit and vegetables. Bedroom is exceptionally comfortable and all living and dining areas delightful. The apartment has a very nice open fire which was great at this time of year - just need to remember to stock up on firewood and charcoal for BBQ at supermarket in George. I would happily stay there again if in South Africa again and would readily suggest it as a great venue to any friends travelling there.

The room was very spacious and clean. The atmosphere in the guesthouse was great, we felt like home. I will never forget the smell of the fresh bread, which was baked by the lady-who is owner of the guesthouse, and served for the breakfast. After such great breakfast-almost everything was home made, we enjoyed our time in a beautiful garden. I definitely recommend this place, especially for big families, because the rooms are really big. We will come back again!!!

Room is next to smoking area. This caused smoke to filter into room as room is in corner of this area and the door has large gaps. A lady also came and sat here to smoke at about 6 on Friday morning while chatting on phone. I would suggest that people that are smokers are booked into this room and not non-smokers. I also think that the wash basin in the bathroom is fine for washing hands but not really for washing ones face as it is too small. This was just minor irritations\shortfalls and will not prevent me from using this facility again.
