Heidelberg is an old university town, its university is the oldest in Germany. It is well-known for its romantic appearance and famous for its castle and mountain railway.
Its a lovely town. Quaint and yet modern. Has the old world charm and yet provides all comforts. The place is continually alive and evening onwards can almost be equated to one big city with beautifull cafes, pubs, pastry houses and restaurants.
Very interesting places to visit in Heidelberg such as castles, old church and other historical places.
Heidelberg is a famous tourist destination, hence there are a lot of tourist especially during the weekend.
Hailing from Berlin (being a Berliner) I was expecting Heidelberg to be more metropolitan as it is known as a kind of Medicine Center in Germany.
Heidelberg has many attractions to see: Oldest uni, the castle (schloss) and the top where you can see many ppl do parasurfing.
Small place but is a very beautiful city. Worth to visit the castle to have a panoramic view of the city.
not too crowded, nice atmosphere. If you can stay at hotel with nice wiew, it would be a good relaxation.
This is a typical old German well-preserved university town. The new town that has been added is, however, not attractive.
