Best hotels & accommodations in Izu

While travelling in IZU, there is the choice! Very nice stuff, beautiful yukata( Japanese-style bathrobe). Quiet private beach, all above is beyond my expectation. The room is big enough as well. Imaihama station is only 2 mins walk distance from this hotel. It's really convenience and private place to stay. Appreciate staff. Wish I could be here again in future.

The hotel also offer shuttle to Kawasu station! If you like to walk, it only takes 20 minutes from hotel to the cherry blossom seeing spot which is a pretty easy and pleasant journey. It rained heavily in one afternoon during my stay, luckily I stayed in this hotel which I can walked around the shop, library and use the Onsen !

Let's not forget that some of the finest hotels in N.Y., for example, are more than 100 years old. Age of a hotel does not render it 'old' or unsavory. This place is top class for what it is. It is very clean. The service is top level (you're in Japan- its hard to find poor service- as long as you are respectful yourself, and don't act like a typical 'What do you mean you don't speak English!?' type foreigner. The view from the room- I felt like I was in Koh Samui, Thailand. You won't believe you're only a 3 hr local train ride from Tokyo. It looks tropical, exotic, and literally- like you're in one of the southern islands off the coast of Okinawa. Maybe even better (seriously). The hotel is very close to the city center (15 min walk through beautiful traditional Japanese countryside alleys, homes, temples, etc). Along the way you'll see gorgeous little shops, restaurants, etc. They provide a free shuttle every hour- but seriously- the area around the hotel is so cool, it'd be a waste not to walk. The onsen (hot traditional pool) is open until 1 am every day (even in low season), and it is outdoor, overlooking the incredible ocean view. TIP: If you are coming from Tokyo: take the ITO LINE back to Atami. Trust me on this. It only runs a few times a day, its a brown colored train. But it's a special line that runs directly along the coast, the entire way, from Shimoda to Atami (from there you can take another local train or Shinkansen back to Tokyo). The scenery on this 90 min train ride is the best I've ever seen in Japan on any train route. Believe me, if you take the Ito Line back to Atami- it'll be one of the most memorable and romantic train rides you've taken in Japan. ;)

It is truly the experience of a japanese high end ryokan. The room we stayed had a private outdoor hot spring bath, the room itself was huge, had a living area as well as western twin beds. There was also a small garden outside the living room. The public hot spring bath was amazing, both indoor and outdoor, i thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Not to mention the Japanese meal which was fantastic as well. Lastly about the location, we rented a car so it was very convenient. The best thing about it is that its right next to the panorama park which has AMAZING views of mount fuji. Definitely a must visit place on your next trip to Izu.

I only came to Izu for the onsen experience and I probably came at a low-peak season as Izu was pretty much a ghost town. There was nothing to do in Izu anyway, it was just a small town with onsen hotels and a beach for surfers. I arrived at the station and the hotel's shuttle van driver was already waiting for my arrival despite me not making any pick-up arrangements....

I arrived at the station and the hotel's shuttle van driver was already waiting for my arrival despite me not making any pick-up arrangements. The hotel seemed empty but when I was ushered to my room, I guess I was only worried about nothing. Room is very clean, huge and I had an amazing view of the ocean! The staff here are friendly and I was pampered like a princess when they brought my meals to my room and prepared my futon before I turn in for the night. For an onsen town, the onsen at the hotel was only average as I have been to better ones. They had one indoors onsen with a view of the ocean and a smaller one outdoors, both on a high floor. There is no internet connection so I took it as a good opportunity to take a break from the outside world. But I succumbed to the lack of connection anyway by using the wifi connection that is only available in the lobby. Mosquitoes might be a problem here though but they have insect repellent for that. I guess my only regret is that I only stayed here for a night.

Nestled in a near-abandoned town 250km, away from the hustle and bustle of the Tokyo Megalopolis, in the thick of Japans Volcanic regions, is the sweetest spot of peace and tranquil abundance. Where Cranes swoop through the Rivers, and deers hop across the highways of the IzuSkyline. Arcana Izu is a divine and rare find. Created by the Owners and energized by the dedication and loving attentiveness of the young Crew who manage this special place in the valley. Chef Yuma Itoi and his group of merry magicians of the hot plates, will create arts of nature that will inspire your eyes as much as your hearts. This is too good to share, yet too divine to keep to oneself.

And the station is about 2 - 4 hours from the Tokyo station depends on if you missed the limited JR express train which is covered by one of the JR passes. - The room is an old-fashion japanese style room and clean. - Staff are extremely friendly and willing to help. They address my needs and questions. Though they may not have a good command of English, they will do their best to assist. And I think this is a good service. - Facilities, the hotel is mainly for onsen. They have two kind of onsen services. One is general, you can have access to the general onsen bath located at 1st(ground) floor unlimited time. The other one is special onsen bath, you are entitled for 2 sessions (50 mins long each) for 1 night staying. Basically, you get your own private onsen suite for 50 mins with a gorgeous open view of the sea. The town doesn't have much to offer. It only got a convenience store about 3 mins walk from the hotel and also one public shore side onsen bath place. I was looking for a quiet, ocean-view hotel with great food. And this hotel offers exactly what I looked for. I do really enjoy the quietness and the ocean view of this hotel. Most of my staying time was spent on staring the sea in my quiet window room and do nothing. It is as best relaxing as I love. A big plus also comes with the great food. The dinner and breakfast were amazingly good. I guess making a great seafood meal is halfway done when you have the freshest supply just two steps away. All in all, I would recommend this hotel and I will definitely come back.

Excellent location, right on the beach. Draw your curtains in the morning and you can see beautiful sunshine shining on a great looking stretch of sand. Excellent staff very helpful, especially the Australia educated lady at the front desk with excellent English. Goods Japanese options at the hotel and few pice pizza placed within a short walk from the hotel

This was the first time my daughter and I visited Izu Peninsula. We stayed in a suite with private onsen at the balcony. The room was clean and spacious, and the sea view was gorgeous. The gentleman working at the reception counter was extremely polite and helpful. When we were leaving on the next day, the bus to the train station was going to depart in a few minutes but the hotel van was still on its way back. So this gentleman immediately got another car and drove us to the bus terminus. The only clawback about the hotel is its relatively remote location. It is situated at Dougashima on the west coast of Izu Peninsula. If you travel from Tokyo, you have to firstly take a 3-hour express train ride to Shimoda and then another hour's bus ride to Dougashima. The hotel is within walking distance from the bus terminus.

This is a great place to relax. It is a huge place with limited number of guests rooms. No crowds like what you see at Tokyo or Fuji. The room I stayed is facing a golf course. I wished I would skip Tokyo and Fuji and came here directly for a week of relaxation. Having your own transport is a must to fully enjoy.

Izu Marriott Hotel Shuzenji is a very new opening hotel, all good facilities and the staff can understand English. The room is spacious and clean, with private onsen on the balcony. I highly recommend this hotel and resorts if they can add more shuttle bus to Shuzenji station.

Chose this hotel because of excellent review, price and location. If you missed the last hotel shuttle ( like us from Izu-Atagawa station then you can still walk to hotel (< 10 min and down hill) with luggage from hakkawa station though there are few stairs when exit the station. In addition, the outdoor seaside Hakkawa Onsen is right next to the hotel (free for hotel guests), plus the 40 min private onsen from hotel so you get to enjoy the best of onsen without additional cost. We booked the Japanese style sea view room without realizing there is no private bath (which my daughter insisted to have). After we requested to exchange to a room with private bath, they upgraded us to a two-room suite with private bath (it was lucky they still have room with bath). We did not see non-Japanese tourist in the hotel. Though the front desk receptionist knew little English, they have know problem communicating with out request. Highly recommended!

If you get off at Shuzenji station, you can take a bus for Yoshina Onsen Guchi stop. Please do contact the hotel staff in advance for pick up at Yoshina Onsen Guchi stop. The hotel staff will also ask the time slots you prefer for breakfast and dinner. There’s a Japanese restaurant and a bakery in the resort. It was said that you could view the peak of Mountain Fuji on top of the small hill in the resort, but I didn’t make it to the end.

I personally feel that Dinner is too expensive, too much fish, The taste is just so-so. I like the private hot spring in the room. The room is very clean and with sea views! If I will go to Izu again, I will choose this hotel again. Note: You need to return to the hotel before 11pm every night.

The ryokan has an amazing view, second to none (get an ocean view room). It's not just any ocean view; it has 3 rocks protruding right in front, making for a spectacular view. Osen is nice, and there is one outdoor onsen that also faces the same amazing view as the rooms with the ocean view. The food is great (and far too much, couldn't finish it most of the time) It is a little out of the way, but it's well worth the trip.

Rather than stand at counter, we completed the whole process by sitting at desk with a very kindly speaking staff. Staff took us to our room, checked and changed the pajama size for my little one while explaining all hotel facilities. Dinner is a highlight. What a feast! You definitely don't want to miss out. A set meal plus choices of hot dishes and desserts. Onsen, pretty much same as other onsen hotels. The room is cosy. The view from the room is fantastic. Tatami nice and comfortable, air-conditioning is adjustable. Breakfast variety wise is reasonable. A shop between two restaurants sells quite many stuff, prices are the same as outside. Check out process is very efficient. When we sat on the shuttle bus, a staff helped us put luggage in the bus then ran back into the hotel, surprisly gave my girl a small handmade souvenir. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel

We wanted to stay in the Izu peninsula and this was the most affordable place. The view is great from the rooms and the common spaces. Spacious room with comfortable beds, suits with bathroom and toilet. We didn't use during our stay because the private Orsen room is more spacious for shower with more than enough amenities. There are 4 private Orsen Room , all of them are facing the coast , semi open aired which you can enjoy some fresh air at the hot bath, also some sunlight during the day. I came during the off-peak season, so we could enjoy the Orsen anytime without queuing. Free Wifi service and staffs are helpful but be aware that most staffs don't understand English, google translate was helpful. My stay included 2 meals a day, all meals were very satisfying and delicious, definitely will come again!

Great, Fumi, big THANK YOU to you (I am Mr. Wong : ) ) The location is very remote, though shuttle bus service is offered. Anyway I drive myself. It is very expensive, in such a fishing village. I stayed there on Friday and Saturday nights - not sure if this is the reason. Anyway what it offers is GREAT.

Our room rate included dinner and breakfast for two people, which I was very surprised at given how low our room rate was (~$125 for a Saturday night). The meals were tasty buffets with a variety of food. It will probably not be the best meal you have in Japan but it is quite decent and dinner includes free sake/beer/wine. Our room was immaculate and consisted of two adjoining tatami rooms and a small enclosed balcony-like sitting area. It was the biggest hotel room I've had in Japan (although based on the fire escape plan, I think most of the rooms are somewhat smaller.) We had a gorgeous view of the water, which was very nice although there are a few buildings between the hotel and the shore so it's not completely unobstructed. The bathroom consisted of separate toilet room and shower/bath rooms. We took our showers (for cleaning) and baths (for soaking) in the 2nd floor onsens. There was a large indoor onsen and an outside smaller onsen with a view of the water. The outside onsen privacy is adequate although exposed to buildings and balconies a slight distance away. These are traditional Japanese onsens so no bathing suits, it's nudie time! I am so impressed by this hotel and the staff were so wonderful and friendly. My husband and I speak a little Japanese, which was helpful but it wouldn't be mandatory. While I agree this is a 3-start hotel and not a 5, the facilities were clean, the staff lovely and the overall value incredible!

The hotel was a very nice property considering the remote location on the Izu Peninsula. there are a number of items that you should know and perhaps put into you hotel description of services. 1. The hotel offers free shuttle service to the Shimoda Train Station at certain hours of the day which I was not aware of when I booked through this website. 2. Upon checkin my wife and I were directed to the front desk for checkin. However, other Japanese guests that were checking in were taken to the lounge on the side of the lobby to fill out their registration forms. They were brought tea and snack as they sat and filled out forms. I felt this was not appropriate being a foreigner from Hawaii. (gaijin) Japanese guests were treated differently that gaijin. I saw this with 2 other gaijin couples also at other times during our stay. 3. There are a number of other items that are not explained correctly when checking in. We made dinner reservations for the 1st night which was a wonderful experience. when we returned to our room, our futon was nicely laid out, and a pitcher of ice cold water was also placed in our room. we didn't make reservations for dinner the 2nd night thus our room was NOT made up or water brought to the room. this was not clear when we checked in. If you don't have dinner reservations in the hotel then you do NOT get any turndown service. It makes you feel like if you don't eat at their ONE restaurant then you don't get the same service... 4. Although I speak Japanese and my wife is Japanese also, they could use someone in the hotel that speaks a little more English that would help out nicely for foreigners of English speaking background. 5. They give guests a sheet of paper with some explanations of services, but it is not written clearly enough to understand all that they have on property.

He's such a surfer and runs a side business, he's not always there and sorry for the inconvenience. Feel free to use kitchen, utensils, fridge, microwave, toilet, etc. and instant coffee/tea and condiments are free of charge. Small Bath (shower and bathtub) is located in kind of backyard. We travelled by car, so visited the owner's recommended Yakiniku restaurant and unique Polynesian hot spring bath. If no car, 3 min walk to supermarket. Your private room is on the 2nd floor, spacious Tatami room with air-conditioner, fan, small table, and Futon. If you have toddler(s), be careful, there's steep stairs! No TV, away from noise. If you have allergy to cats, find other place. Nico-chan, a cute cat would welcome you. Lastly, tel No. is shown wrongly on the site, it's mobile phone, don't forget to add 080

I have mixed feelings about the booking. It's not a room, you book a whole house!! While booking, the price for 2 person is 7800 yen, at the place I was told the price is 7800 yen per person + 1000 cleaning fee (per person?). I refused to pay it, and just paid 9000 yen (7800 + 1000, didn't get 200yen change, just saying). 7800 yen per person may be a fair price, but i...

The house is really awesome and clean, but 30 min walk from the city, so better if you have a car or rent a taxi. It's a log house on the mountain and it's super quiet at night, my gf was a bit spooked. I think it can be perfect deal for the people that looks for such a deal, but some people may feel mislead by the incomplete description.

View was nice but the room was situated on the main highway so it was noisy at night. The beds were comfortable but sheets were stiff. They also did not give you regular towels only 1 hand towel per person which was very inconvenient when showering after the beach, we had to purchase beach towels at the local store to use. Location was great for beach access & food. They had very good lunch food & coffee menu but only 1 breakfast item on the menu. Overall, hotel was good buy for your buck & we would stay again just would bring our own towels & sheets.

Many thanks to Kiyomi san , she is an amazing staff who made our stay truly relaxing and enjoyable

We had good talk and shared fun time over good dishes and wine, which made us unforgettable trip in my life. As everything in this area is quite cheep, you can buy fresh shrimp, fishes and vegetable with a reasonable price. I bet I will come back this place again in the future!

The staff is very friendly, even if I spoke in Japanese the staff could also speak English. I traveled around the Izu peninsula for 4 days and 3 nights, Beach Side Inn was the most expensive hotel but it worth it. It is in front of the shrine and the beach, it has 2 private onsen, very clean with an open roof (you can take a bath while watching the stars...), the room and the onsen have all the commodities you could expect (you even have a yukata to go to the onsen), and the breakfast was delicious.

When we arrived, we were told that the hotel was closed, and indeed, it appeared so.... dimly lit, aging, and pet bunnies (???) hanging out in the lobby. When we arrived, we were told that the hotel was closed, and indeed, it appeared so.... dimly lit, aging, and pet bunnies (???) hanging out in the lobby. We presented our reservations, and apparently we and our friends were the only guests that weekend so it was really rather creepy. The Japanese rooms were clean and decent for the price, but beware! this hotel does not give you towels. The manager (?) was hardly ever around but when I caught him he explained that there was no towel service...? But eventually I got him to give me some that looked like his own personal towels. This hotel is also far from the beach but close to the station so if you are planning a beach trip you might want to consider something closer to the beach.

Breakfast and dinner was delicious! Hotel rooms were clean, complete with all the toiletries. Had our first onsen experience and it was really a memorable stay for us. The staff are amazing! They have bus services to and from their hotel from the train station. They also offered a quick night tour around the area.

The hostel can be reached by tokai bus. It is owned by a nice couple. The room is spacious, dinner and breakfast are delicious and full. The owners are very hospitable. One of them drove me to some nice places nearby and to see Mt. Fuji. He also drove me to his garden and shared oranges and tangerines with me. He even checked the bus schedule for me for my sightseeing plan the next day, and drove me to another bus terminus the next day. It's really a nice and warm hostel to stay and I would recommend to everyone.

Moreover, they have 2 bathrooms including the indoor and outdoor hot spring, open for 24hours that we could use any time we wanted. Besides, the volume of breakfast and dinner were liked jumbo for us. The sashimi is very fresh, and tasty, the meals they provided made us unforgottable!

It has a bus stop in front of the Hotel. Buses are the main form of transportation in Shimoda. But be sure before boarding the bus to ask the driver if the bus will make a stop on your destination. We had many occurrences during our stay that the bus does not stop on our planned destination. The Hotel has a restaurant and outside there is two restaurants beside it and a 7 eleven so you will not have a hard time finding a place to eat at night. The Hotel staff are very nice especially the front desk that even if they are not fluent in english will make an effort to know what you need. The room that we stayed at is very big and can accommodate a big families. It is very unique because the beddings are futon. It has all the amenities needed and has a big window that has a fantastic view of the ocean.

The hotel was an amazing deal and a wonderful place to stay. While I agree this is a 3-start hotel and not a 5, the facilities were clean, the staff lovely and the overall value incredible!

takarada-san and family, the folks who run the hotel, were quite simply, the best hosts of any hotel we've stayed at in japan. takarada-san was always on the spot with suggestions for dining, sightseeing, even going so far as to chauffeur us a bit around shimoda. the hotel has a great restaurant/hanging out room, serving wonderful breakfasts in the morning and having plenty of comfy chairs to lounge about in and games to keep the kids occupied. outside there's a nice pool and deck overlooking the ocean and 2 outdoor baths that are wonderful for dips under the moonlight. if there's a small quibble - and it's small - is the rooms are a bit functional. they're clean and nice, but could be a little more romantic. but the main thing was the graciousness of the hosts. we will definitely visit again.

When we arrived, the family was very surprized. They had not yet received the reservation that we made the day before. Nevertheless, our room was prepared within 10 minutes, and they also created a delicious meal from scratch. The rooms are simple, but clean. And the beds slepts perfectly. We could choose which bath we would like to use for the onsen, and had the bath for the two of us for an hour. The next day, the owner brought us to the station, which saved us a ride in the taxi. In short, we were overwhelmed with hospitalitiy at this little cute pension, and we would defenately recommend it dispite it's location.

Believe me, if you take the Ito Line back to Atami- it'll be one of the most memorable and romantic train rides you've taken in Japan. ;)

Chose this hotel because of excellent review, price and location. If you missed the last hotel shuttle ( like us from Izu-Atagawa station then you can still walk to hotel (< 10 min and down hill) with luggage from hakkawa station though there are few stairs when exit the station.

I personally feel that Dinner is too expensive, too much fish, The taste is just so-so. I like the private hot spring in the room. The room is very clean and with sea views! If I will go to Izu again, I will choose this hotel again. Note: You need to return to the hotel before 11pm every night.

The hotel rooms are very big with western styled beds and Japanese Ttm. The view is stunning even thought my room is facing non Fuji side. The staff are very polite and helpful. I was the only foreigner in the hotel, so good to not hear other Asian languages. The garden is another amazing area.

The large bath on the 7th floor was lovely and had an outdoor pool and the private bath we had was sheer luxury! Dinner was great, it was unusually as it was a fusion of Western and Japanese. To be very honest I would have preferred a full Japanese meal but this is purely personal preference rather than anything being wrong and the cake 'biking' was yummy! ( Biking means Viking which means buffet in Japan. Just go with it!) Breakfast was a treat for the eyes and belly and all the staff spoke English and while we were a Japanese speaking party it was great for those whose English was better. Totally recommended!

Very pleasant! Located by the seaside (although facing a highway), this quiet and semi-traditional Ryokan is worth the price you pay for. It is not cheap, but opt for the traditional tatami rooms (only two out of seven rooms) with meals included. You might be surprised initially that other local guests have different dinner plans, especially with lobster and other fanciful sparkling drinks. I think this is because local Japanese travel agent sites have a wider choice set of packages available to the Japanese reader. Not so on sites like Agoda though. The hot spring baths were very relaxing, and due to the low number of rooms, this means that you are quite likely to get the bath all to yourself most of the time. Otherwise, you can book a private time (but only for about 40 minutes per day). But hey, there's only so many baths you can have in a day, no? Easy walk to the Kawazu station where you can take a bus to see local sights like the seven waterfalls, or hop onto the train line and head further south to nice beaches like in Shimoda.

The price was a little steep, however.

Again, thanks a lot to all the staffs in Bonsui. Without them, we cant celebrate our anniversary so well. We should come checking in earlier next time so that we can reserve the perfect timing for private hot-spring. Staffs, views, meal, facilities, everything is fantastic!

Beautiful private onsen (4 types) for couples or families and the service was very excellent! Staff went out of the way to make our stay perfect. The futons were also super comfortable and thicker than usual. By far one the best ryokans we stayed at!

We've lived in Japan nearly 4 years and stayed at a few ryokans. They are all older properties, and the condition of the hotels based on price often shocks foreign travelers. This inn was very cozy though, and stood out because of the amenities available: a DVD library with lots of indie flicks and choices in English, extra large yukata for big foreign guests like us, massage chairs in the lobby, games, Shiseido bath products in the public bathing areas, in-room fridge, table tennis and karaoke rooms. We had great views of the forest from our sitting area and the room size was generous. Both chairs and a table by the window and the traditional Japanese floor table and chairs were present, as well as separate toilet and sink areas. Overall it was pretty quiet, none of the paper-thin walls you get in other ryokan. The baths are outstanding, both hot and cold pools by the falls that are mixed gender, including steam caves. The indoor men and women's baths are also fantastic on their own. There is a family bath available to guests on a first come, first served basis. My husband and I had no problems getting in there both nights of our stay around 9pm. We opted for dinner, which at 5,000 yen is a bit pricey, but not extreme. The portions were generous and the food top quality. Heavy on the fish, kaiseki style. Each night consisted of the same structure, different dishes, about 7 courses in total: sashimi platter, starters platter, tempura, nabe, side dish, rice, miso soup, dessert. The downside is the breakfast, which is plated and only Japanese style. I hate eating fish and fermented dishes for breakfast so this was a real bummer. The only other real downside was the slightly "old" smell in the room, maybe a bit of mold somewhere? And all the rooms seem to be optional smoking ones, so when our neighbor started smoking in the hall it did waft in through our door. Very relaxing overall though, and would definitely return.

This property accepts only one group per night at the moment, so you are the only guest(s). The laid-back owner lives in the property and runs bar at night at part of the 1st floor.

Traveler impressions of Izu
Nice place - atami has more shopping than ito itself though. Would be nice if Buses were more frequent
Although there are not too much sightseeing points in Atami, taking a cable car up the hill to the Atami Castle to view the city and bay from a high point is still a good choice.
The shopping streets around the Atami Station have a lots to see and buy. The city shows both historical and modern ways of living in the streets. There will be a lot to do at the beaches during summer but we stayed there in winter time.
every peaceful small town, the good way to know the Japan culture. no much tourists. and tasting food
Nice place with a lot of sightseeing.. We are not manage to go all places as we only stayed for 2 nights.
We will definitely come back again.
It was a lovely area, with some very lovely sights. Some of the views along the coast are just incredible.
It is not really the area to go if you're wanting nightlife - it is an area to admire nature, and to enjoy a quiet atmosphere.
Very nice natural scene everywhere. If you like driving, try not to 100% follow your GPS sometimes. GPS usually shows the shortest way to your destination but skip some beautiful scene.
Trust me. Just open the map and follow the path near the seashore. You will find something very amazing.
You could spend all day at the beach, whose facilities have just been upgraded, but you would be missing out on many things such as nature walks, exciting castles perched high above the sea, spas, birds wildlife, fishing and excursions on fast hydroplanes to mist shrouded islands.
You will be amongst the world's friendliest people and explore the most welcoming gardens and forest paths. You enter a world of romance and mystery. One of Japan's greatest modern love stories was written about this place in 1903.
Nice beaches, but they are far from restaurants, etc. There are interesting parts of town (Perry Way), but overall the town feels dead with few interesting shops.
There are great beaches in this area e.g Shirahama beach. It's best to visit in spring, as it gets very crowded in summer.
You can find good beach and restaurant and Musium. However you need car to move around. Otherwise you have to take taxi a lot.
Izu is the perfect way out of Tokyo for a week end. I went there by car with my wife and 9 months old son, except for the traffic on the coastline road everything was perfect, so I recommend to take the skyline road through central izu, it is much easier.
Locals are very friendly and always happy to help you, food is also a great attraction, try any fish especially white meat fish and seafood. Every restaurant where we went accepted young babies and gave us some great service. In case you like diving February is the best season as water is clearer.

More about Izu
When in Atami, it is not about the onsen baths that they have available, as the hot springs make a far more impressive and natural display for relaxing in leisure. Throughout the city, hot springs can be enjoyed for their soothing properties, and some even have geysers. If not here, many a traveler can be found along the coast. The area is popular with divers and has one of the only divable wrecks in mainland Japan. The coral, moray eels, and octopus add to the diversity and wonder of the waters of Atami. The nearby city of Izu is also worth a visit for its hot springs. It also has such attractions as the Shuzenji Temple and Niji-no-sato Theme Park.
Be sure to check out the interactive map of Atami for information on hotel locations, attractions, and must-see destinations.
