“The Pacific Sutera (silk) is probably the best Resort hotel in Kota Kinabalu. What they dont tell you in the website is that you can also enjoy the pool areas of the MAGELLAN And their members only "marina" (great for the kids!). THe Marina is the only pool area that has the slides, so if you plan to stay here at the PAcific, walk around the boardwalk - its good excercise and make the huge complex a bit closer to each other.”

“the location of magellan sutera is very good, only 3mins drive to the city centre and easy to look for local food. the room is classic, clean and the swimming pool is also an attraction of the hotel. the most amazing part is the breakfast, there're so many choices of food and drinks (including italy coffee) for us. well, the service, environment, cleaniness, facilities, food and drinks are all above my expectation. it could be considered as the best 5-star hotel in kota kinabalu.”

“I was speaking at a conference in Kota Kinabalu, and stayed at the Hilton Kota Kinabalu while I was there. The hotel was great in all respects. The food was awesome, the room size was very good, the location was excellent and the reception staff were pleasant. I'd definitely stay at the Hilton Kota Kinabalu again.”

“Spent a week in the spa suite apartments for the family and we absolutely enjoyed ourselves. The location was ideal for those seeking to get away from the busy city, while still remain close to amenities. We rented a car at affordable rates from a local car rental company, and used a mobile app called WAZE to get around - driving around was easy since the app had the most accurate and up-to-date information. Having spent 7 days in the resort, we got around easily to the local restaurants for the best seafood - very cheap and fresh. Check out Gayang Restaurant and their cheap and fresh lobsters and crabs. Convenience shops like 7-11 were everywhere and there is a large supermarket called GIANT just 10 mins from the resort (google "Taman Indah Permai"). Our younger son (age 5) caught a cold and there's a very good and experienced paediatrician called Dr Jeffrey Soon about 30 mins drive away (Lot 66, Lrg Zirafah 10A , Taman Layang Layang , Luyang, 88300 Kota KInabalu), where we got him treated. Around the resort, there's a gorgeous golf course sandwiched between the mountain ridge and the beaches. And there's also a water theme park called "Lagoon Park", where we spent a day with water activities. Generally, while the resort may be about 45 mins drive from the city, there are enough facilities and things for my family to enjoy. The hotel staff were extremely prompt in their responsiveness to our requests (extra towels, utensils for cooking, etc). Very warm and friendly. The stringent security checkpoints also made us feel safe and secure throughout our stay. We had a good deal for this booking via Agoda. Paid for the price of a 4 star hotel but it really felt more like a 5 star. Highly recommended for couples looking for a private place as well as for families looking to get some peace and quiet.”

“It seems a little bit pricey for the average traveler but Kota Kinabalu is more expensive than Peninsular Malaysia in general and it costs far less than Meridien. But if you have a bit to spare, it's well worth it for the size of the room, the amenities and the location is fantastic. Lots of food options within in walking distance - if you need to get to a mall Centrepoint is just across the road, Imago is 5 minutes away by cab. Use GRAB cab wherever you go - it costs far less. The waterfront, boardwalk dining options & massage, market etc are all nearby. The Warisan area that it is located in seems a bit foregone but you can walk around it and it doesn't seem dangerous or dodgy. If you are heading out to the isladns, the jetty is also not far away. Best bet for Kota Kinabalu (even when I had to go for a conference in UMS I stayed in Klagan).”

“I am very satisfied with their service and facilities.. With the room rate agoda gave us, I was expecting nexus resort is just another ordinary beach front resort. Hey, Nexus did disppoint us. It is far more than just a beach front resort. They have a lot to offer. They have 5 restaurants in their resort, a spa equipped and designed to make you feel more relaxed and sort of a VIP. A shuttle service to move you around the resort. Their beach, made me decide to visit again kota kinabalu. Despite of having beautiful beaches here in the Philippines, it calls me to go back. Indeed rumors are true that kota kinabalu have very nice beach, not polluted, fine white sand, all these infront of nexus resort. Staff were very kind and helpful.”

“The hotel/resort is a very very beautiful place... very quiet and tranquil.. The only drawback was that the resort is quit far from the main city.. Food is good especially the one where we dine at "TEPI LAUT".. The room is spacious and I really appreciate the mini pool by the balcony.. Staffs are helpful and very attentive.. If it weren't for the distance between the main city and the hotel, this resort would be really really nice... But, I like the gestures made by the hotel to abate the distances issue, they provide shuttle bus going to and forth from the hotel to the main city...”

“I can’t describe how much i loved this place. We stayed in ocean view room which was best in my entire journey in Kota Kinabalu. The veiw from the balcony was astonishing. You can directly jump into the sea from the balcony. You can borrow snorkeling tools and kayak at the reception for free. Also hotel offered free boat service from Jesselton point to the hotel at fixed time. I would definitely come and stay here again!!! Hope this place doesn’t become so famous that i can easily book. :)”

“Very good value for money. Clean, good facilities and fit out is modern and functional. Would recommend to anyone as either business or holiday hotel. Facilities are just as good as some of the more expensive 'Brand' hotels in Kota Kinabalu but at a significantly lower cost.”

“Hotel Grandis has upgrade my stay to an Executive Suite with two floors and lovely ocean view, thanks! The hotel is pretty modern comparing with other hotels in Kota Kinabalu. Nice location with a large mall just next door with plenty of food options, also within walking distance to the waterfront and town centre.”

“Really nice luxury hotel in walking distance to near the waterfront and nightlife. Level 14 has a nearly opened rooftop sky bar which would be probably the best location in Kota Kinabalu. There is also a special private club lounge on level 14 which is worth the daily upgrade if you take advantage of the amazing breakfast, lunch and dinner buffers and drinks. The hotel feels brand new and there was lots to see and explore within the complex. The pool on Level 2 is great relief to avoid the day time heat. The daily night market and other markets are very close by which are worth visiting to see more of the real Kota Kinabalu culture. We highly recommend this hotel for couples, groups and for business conferences. We attended a Wedding dinner on Level 3 and the service and atmosphere were excellent.”

“I've been staying at the Dreamtel Kota Kinabalu for the past 1 and 1/2years. It's my go to hotel in Kota Kinabalu and I return every month. Staff performance is excellent, they polite and friendly. They have recently upgraded their WIFI so it's much better now. Breakfast has a good range of breads, asian rice or noodles, egg station, fruits and juices. Hotel cleanliness is also good the rooms are comfortable.”

“It is located in Gaya street, so that should not be a problem to travel around the city center on foot. Do take note that you will need the local parking coupon if you wish to park your car in front of the hotel. Despite the small space of toilet and shower room, the room is actually quite spacious and comfy. Overall, this is a satisfied stay in a new international standard hotel in Kota Kinabalu.”

“Our first time here. The resort is clean and spacious and I never expect to see such a nice and clean beach around Kota Kinabalu town area. We never prepared food and there is no restaurant nearby so we drove out to buy dinner and egg and bread for next day breakfast as there is kitchen fully equipped with kitchenware. There are security patroling at night. It is a safe and cosy place to stay. We will plan a trip there again.”

“We loved and enjoyed our stay in The Klagan @ Riverson Hotel. The room was spacious and everything were super clean! The kitchenette were complete with everything you may need. The location is the best asset of the hotel. It's a very quiet and safe place yet just steps away from restaurants and cafes and the biggest shopping centre Imago. I want to stay there again next time I'm in Kota Kinabalu. I strongly recommend The Klagan @ Riverson Hotel to anyone looking for a wholesome place to stay.”

“This must be one of the best hotels in Kota Kinabalu! It is very near Suria Mall. The rooms are very clean and very spacious. Good for travelling families! It is a completely smoke free hotel. I love their water bottles! They are made of glass. They do away with wasteful and environmentally hazardous plastic bottles. I will definitely come back here when I next visit Kota Kinabalu. Thank you AGODA for giving me such a great deal for Hotel Sixty3! :o)”

“Cititel Express Kota Kinabalu Hotel is in the middle of town, easy access to almost every where. The hotel room is clean, although the room size is a bit small, but it has all the basis facilities. There are many food stores around the hotel, recommended for traveler who looking for budget and clean hotel in Kota Kinabalu.”

“For first time visitor, the hotel entrance is not placed facing the main road. But the location is very close to Pasar Kraftangan, Pasar Filipina and Pasar Malam Sinsuran. I checked in 2 hours earlier but was grateful because the hotel did not request for additional charge. No cafe in the hotel. The interior design in the room is very nice and pleasant. From this hotel, it is easy to get into many attractive places in Kota Kinabalu.”

“first time for me to stay in KK Times Square Hotel and already i love the place!will definitely stay there again during future travels with my son.it is conveniently located with restos, bars and a 24-hr convenience store all within walking distance from the hotel.the place is safe even for a solo lady traveler like me that i had no fear of going out of my room and have a late dinner at a nearby restaurant.highly recommended to those who wants value for their money. KK Times Square Hotel is, for me, the "IN" place in Kota Kinabalu!”

“Best location - above best shopping mall IMAGO in kota kinabalu, great sunset view from hotel balcony, luxurious interior desgin and furnitures, clean environment, help of friendly and responsibile staff during check in and out. Highly recommended for others who plans to visit kota kinabalu for any purpose!”

“this hotel is much better than another hotel i stayed with almost the same price. the hotel is conveniently located near some shopping malls ,travel agencies, convenient stores and some overnight food stores are right round the corner. this is a location even better than those at 'city centre' around the night market because the area of best western is cleaner and with a very mordern shopping mall, suria sabah, with a cinema (3d movies available), and the travel agencies are very important to inexperienced travellers. the night market and alike are in fact within 15 min walk when you want to take a look. the staff are nice and helpful. the breakfast served is better than i expect for such a price. the wi-fi in the room does not always work, but the convenience of staying inside the room is something not every hotel in kota kinabalu can offer. the city view from the window is refreshing as well.”

“This hotel is one of the best location you can stay in Kota Kinabalu town. It is located in the heart of the town and at the most happening Gaya street with walking distance to famous food, tourist spot and all the amenities around it. The best part is the most happening Sunday market is right in front of the hotel entrance and around it making it so convenient. Love it and will stay here again next time. The staffs is very friendly and greet you by your name and will ask you is everything alright and what else they can assist. Thumbs up for this simple and yet conducive hotel.”

“Stayed in Mercure Hotel during my recent trip to Kota Kinabalu and had a great experience. The hotel is new and my assigned room has a fantastic view of Mt Kinabalu. I loved waking up on the morning and be greeted by the beautiful sight of the mountains amongst the fogs. The hotel staff is very helpful. I approached the front desk staff to assist in the rental of a car for use for the next day at almost midnight one of the night. The staff was extremely commendable as he searched several agencies and arranged for a car for me at a good rates. My stay in Kota Kinabalu was indeed greatly complimented by the great services of the hotel. I would definitely be staying in Mercure again should I return to Kota Kinabalu.”

“We as a family went to Kota Kinabalu. The hotel is not bad. It has a big room. So, enough for me and my family. The hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. We are not really familiar with this area and the staffs showed us the direction. Food surrounding this area is not bad. There are quite a number of local food stalls. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and relatives. It is perfectly good for a family trip and all fun experiences in Kota Kinabalu.”

“My family and I have been staying at this hotel almost everytime when we're in Kota Kinabalu. Apart from it being less than a minute away from eateries and mini markets, the hotel is well maintained. We've always had clean rooms, bathrooms, towels and comfortable beds.”

“just another hotel in the ever growing hotels in kota kinabalu, nothing to shout about. there is nothing much to walk around the area as the shoplots are not fully occupied. good location as the city centre has limited parking space if your driving.”

“My friend and I stayed here on our way in to diving and trekking round Sabah, Borneo. We loved it so much we decided to stay here on our way back out of Kota Kinabalu! It's a hostel so the rooms are simple and not decorated much, but what we loved so much about this place was everything was so clean! The rooms, the beds, the common room, the bathrooms and showers!! All clean, all the time! Most hostels I've stayed at can never keep everything so clean, but Akinabalu does it! The staff are also really friendly and welcoming and offer their help with most anything we needed including booking buses and taxis, and such. The breakfast is not really a breakfast at all, so we usually walked down the street to "Fung-ip cafe." There are a bunch of other restaurants on the same strip and everything except beer is quite cheap. Would love to stay at this place again if I make it back to KK!”

“Can't beat The Jesselton Cabin hostel in Kota Kinabalu, extremely good value for money, great location, very clean, lovely free breakfast and the staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful with anything you require! I highly recommend staying here and I will definitely stay stay there again if I return to the area!”

“Top 3 Things I enjoyed the most at my stay: 1. The location is an excellent spot to everything. Everything is "walkable" from the place. You can go to the Suriah Sabah Mall for some shopping, grocery shopping at KK Plaza, Adventure at Jesselton Point, or take a bus at the Padang Merdeka. It is the center of all the city tour you need to do when going to Kota Kinabalu. 2. My stay is really cheap and shows an excellent value for money. You get to enjoy the basic necessities to enjoy your stay without overspending 3. You get to meet a lot of foreign travelers as it is one of the most common place to stay for a backpacker. You can be assured of the safety of the place as it has CCTV and their staff is always present in the location. Some improvements needs to be made regarding the storage for your bag as the lock seems pretty cheeky, good thing I have my own lock for my bag as a precaution. Likewise, smiling and learning the English language for the staff is needed :D”

“You've made us feel at home here in SKYPOD! It wouldn't be so much fun without your great help. Thank you for taking care of us throughout our stays here in Kota Kinabalu. We're very glad to have met such an amazing people and staffs here in SKYPOD, and now we becoming FRIENDS! We can't thank you enough for what you've done for us, thank you for all the love, laugh, smile and jokes that we've shared for the past 6 days. SKYPOD is a wonderful stay in a fabulous city! We gladly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cozy haven in Kota Kinabalu, SKYPOD is the one!! We definitely will be back again”

“It is located at prime area that can get access to every part of Kota Kinabalu. But is noisy also because next to main road. At night still ok when the traffic slowdown.”

“I initially booked for a service apartment in Likas area but cancelled it for Hood Borneo instead. I took the private room which ia good for 2 people (but still big enough for 2) with a huge restroom as well. Conveniently located at heart of the city (Jalan Pantai) just parallel to Jalan Gaya. Just a few meters away from the bus stop for buses coming from KK. Hotel staff were nice esp Faris. I would come back here and recommend the place to friends and relatives.”

“It's located directly in the city center of Kota Kinabalu, next to Sunday market. Quite noisy, missing AC, shared bathrooms, really nasty entrance hall.”

“This is one of the best hostels I've stayed in three months backpacking through South East Asia. The bed is comfortable, and they provide curtains which gives you more privacy. The staff is really kind and they give you a real breakfast: Milk, cereals, juice, cake, pancake, peanut butter, jam, noodles, even sausages! And the shower was even better than mine at home! If you smoke don't worry there is a smoking area for you”

“For a backpacker hotel, Sakot is more than what we expected. Almost everything you need are provided. The staff are all very friendly and nice. The location is very good, most of the malls and tourist attraction of the city can be reached by walking. We even walked to Jesselton for our island-hopping activity. For a stay in Kota Kinabalu city center, I will always go back to Sakot.”

“It is a good place to stay for backpacker and those who want budget traveling. The hotel is located at center of the town of Kota Kinabalu. The staff of the hotel quite nice and service my friend and i with a smile most of the time, simply say quite friendly.Eventhough the room of the hotel quite small but it is convenient for both of us to sleep. We also can online with free of charge at the hotel. And i am quite pleased by the staff when they work very efficient on cleaning the floor that where my friend vomit after drunk.Thank you again here to the staff of the hotel on that night cause helping us clean the floor without complaining. What a wonderful stay and holiday to both of us.”

“CONS: no outside drying -caused moisture buildup inside windowless men toilet, no toilet seats in 2 sitting toilet bowls -caused me to step on the bowl posed accident risk, travellers round the world come here with different jetlag time and management should put kitchen/TV curfew on noisy gathering after 11 pm (Malaysia time) -caused me a sleepless night, needs more tourism brochures, the stairway isn't lit posed accident risk - light should be turned ON at all times, top step of the stair not flushing with the floor posed accident risk - to put yellow florescent paint andwarning on uneven step, no free breakfast at least hot coffee even though there are plenty of great variety of Chinese, Malays, India, western style Pizza Hut KFC etc PROS: Clean generally, TV good Astro channels, good Gaya Street view, great location - not too near bars with loud music, great friendly staff- but putting more smiling faces would cheer the world, laundry coin shop across hiway Kudos Sensi Hostel”

“I had booked a single room and got a really spacious room for the price. Clean toilets and showers with hot water. a small hostel so not too many people in the place. My room had a cupboard and 2 multipurpose plugs so no hassle in charging electronics.Bedding and towel provided.... The common area is well designed and brightly lit with full glass walls so it feels cafe like. The pantry has a microwave, fridge, toaster, electric kettle, utensils....so everything if you want to cook a meal for yourself! Breakfast is the usual hostel fare of bread, peanut butter, jam, and butter but its all fresh and constantly topped up. Laundry services are available too for cheap. Plus its located right opposite a McDonald's if you are craving fast food at midnight! The staff are super friendly and helpful so no problems there. My only grouse is that the air con is at one setting and can't be changed from within the room and it was too cold for me at night. Otherwise I would mind staying here for a long term too...very surprised at the value I received for the amount I paid.”

“I've been staying at this place for many many times and never got disappointed. The location is great, close to mall, eateries, market and even the Sunday morning market. Now, with Uber available in Kota Kinabalu, traveling by a car is as cheap and convenient as ever.”

“This hotel is located at a great location. It is clean and the staff are friendly. Breakfast (bread, coffee/tea, fruits, cereal and even Malaysia roti canai) is provided. What I did during breakfast was sipping a cup of coffee at the balcony while enjoying the morning breeze and looking at sights of the morning crowd. Great feeling. The room is a little bit small and hey with its design and price, I would say it is worth it.”

“This premise is right where the Gaya street market starts & within walking distance to Pasar Filipin, Todak monument & many more attractions. The staff are friendly and they help us to book the ticket to Manukan Island for a better deal. I will come back here again if I need to stay for long period in Kota Kinabalu.”

“the borneo gaya lodge is situated in the heart of kota kinabalu city. they have very friendly and honest staffs. we left our camera last march and just got them last weekend but they still gave it back. when you go down borneo gaya lodge, there are a lot of malay food nearby. these is also the street where they have sunday market and it is very nice to see different stuffs.”

“I am planning to explore Kota Kinabalu in my next visit and I will surely stay again in this Capsule Hotel. I was able to check in early; all staff were nice and friendly. Awesome stay!”

“Public transportations a bit difficult unless u use taxi / grab i guess. Other than that, this is the best value for hostel in kota kinabalu. Parking is free”

“The lodge is very clean and comfortable, the price is reasonable, and the location is very near to the Gaya Street, also opposite to the seafood restaurant, is convenient to us. And the staff help us call the taxi at midnight, maybe this is one of the best lodge in Kota Kinabalu.”

“I took the private bedroom with queen size bed. The location of this backpacker's place is very central. The airport bus is situated behind this place. If you want to go for tours, ask the receptionist. He can help you to sort it easily. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Kota Kinabalu - one of my favourite destinations in the world!”

“Situated in a strategic location, Gaya Street is 7 minutes walk away, Kota Kinabalu Waterfront and Suria Sabah is 10 minutes walk away. The hostel is new, with a modern vibe which cannot be found anywhere in Kota Kinabalu.”

“Just Found Out need to check in at old building , after climb to 2nd floor. Reception check in me at Old building which I paid for New wing. They told me fulled and moved me to old wing, but I paid more for new Wing. End up need me to wait only 15 min and check me in new wing? what a silly reason ? Stayed here for 2 night but found out expired bread roll on fridge , mountain rubbish inside dustbin , no toilet roll in public toilet and also "hair pin" on bathroom floor laying for 3 days. No housekeeping?”

“it was fun to stay in capsule. I like that purple lights, the mirror. USB charger. Have ventilation. Air con outside, was a little cold, can't ask to change, cause other 3 people in room with no room, maybe hot. Can't turn off all lights, even without card charger is working. And one blue button is on. So I tried to stick something to cover it at least a bit. The bedding seems clean. Not so new. I didn't get my pillow case. Then I asked 3 times for it, and to rent a towel. Last time they said to wait for 16:00. So I didn't want keep asking, used my shirt to cover my pillow. And didn't wait for towel, went to shower right away at last. It's very noisy, thr walls seems thin, and no doors. After 20:00 I hear how staff talk to each other quite loud. The have sign to be quite after 22:00, but I still hear some guests arriving, earplugs a must. When I booked it was 14:00 for check in, but at reception said maybe until 15:00. But they let me leave my bags, and wait in the lobby, there 2 sofa. Thanks for Kyrah, she checked me in before 14:00. But I waste my time thinking about it could take longer, and also waiting for towel. I guess best is ask to let take a shower and leave bags, and just go explore the city, without waiting for check in. Also they let me take a shower after check out. Was very helpful. I want to say thank you, for Kyrah, she helped me to call a cab, even went out to find car. Thanks for your kindness. Capsule inside, not that small, I don't feel pressure. They have lockers, but mine lock was broken, they say we will fix, when I ask when, they say someday. Shower is not that dirty, not that clean. Kinda ok. Have only soaps that's all. I couldn't bare to drink the water they provide, so I bought bottled. Toasts, peanut butter, and weird jam for breakfast. And coffee. I suggest stay here for capsule experience, but space theme only capsule and shower stall inside. So. And for good location, and for option to leave bags or take shower before or after c”

“Being a spa they did some spa things like have mattresses on the floor and have chiming music with dimmed lights but I kind of liked that it was different and it was open late as I had a late flight in. The toilet was ok but a bit disappointing and there wasn't a bus stop close enough for me and the road access was only from one direction so it was in a cul de sac. The TV room was good and there was water and tea or something to drink. I did have trouble finding an electric socket which worked which was a pain as I'd just been travelling all day.”

“First impressions are everything and not only was the lodge clean, modern, new and comfy looking but the owners are also so friendly. They couldn't have made me feel anymore comfortable if they tried. They made a point of listening and then later asking me how my day trip went, unlike other hostels where I was just greeted. The other members of staff were also very friendly. The location in central to practically everything. Wifi was strong which is a first for Malaysia for me. The communal area is 24 hours with films on the TV. Another highlight for me was that breakfast which is included in the price did not have a cut off time, this is a pro as if I was to get up late I would normally miss it. Aircon in the room was a bonus also, slept like a baby, especially with all new beds which were too comfy ha..hence the late get up. The only downfall for me is I didn't stay long enough!!!”

“An awesome stay in Asia Adventure Lodge. The host is friendly and helpful, affordable price, and also there are free breakfast in the morning and free Wi-Fi as well. Highly recommend if you stay in Kota Kinabalu”

“The hotel is about 5 km. from the centre of Kota Kinabalu. The hotel is very close to the pick-up point for mini-buses into K.K. (about 50 meters) and it costs 2 ringgit one-way. For a wireless internet connection it is better to be on the 1st floor than the 2nd floor. My room with a double-bed (a "queen") has a good bathroom, good air-conditioning, good wireless connection, comfortable bed. There is a TV but I have not tried it. Room cost about 11 Euros per night booking on the internet; it would have cost about 14 Euros per night paying directly at reception. Nice friendly hotel-staff.”

“Affordable price, walking distance to main attractive places in Kota Kinabalu city, just 15 minutes drive to Kota Kinabalu International Airport, easy to travel by using uber apps, friendly and helpful receptionists, has 24 hours convenient shop at the ground floor just beside the hotel. Aircond has no remote, TV too obsolete and channels were not clear, no slipper provided, plug point to far from bed. Highly recommended for the solo traveller. 5/6 stars.”

“A very good budget hotel to stay for travelers who want to take a bus ride to any of Sabah attraction pace outside Kota Kinabalu. A disappointing moment during the confirmation within the desk, the receptionist a bit rude handling the conversation through phone which she's been mistakenly look at my booking but I handled it properly.”

“The apartments are located on the opposite side of the highway not on the beach side. Check in was challenging as there isn't an actual office and despite advising them of our required check out time, the staff arrived 45 mins late. The actual room was comfortable with washing machine and fridge. The washing machine kept stopping annoyingly especially on the dry cycle. Despite being a self contained apartment there was a lack of cooking equipment and small things like glasses. The complex does have an amazing infinity pool and a gym. Close to airport but some distance from Kota Kinabalu Central.”

“This is definitely one of the best place to stay in kota kinabalu. security is good, shopping place is just below the appartment (most branded and expensive items), facilities are clean and well maintained. I will definitely stay at the sabah holiday homes in the future and I definitely recommend this place for family.”

“We enjoyed our 2 nights stay here very much. located in the middle of the city kota kinabalu. Easy access to shopping mall. theres a lot of shops/eateries around that area.. Luckily about 5mins drive to Jesselton Point Waterfront, Night Market etc easier to shop, eat and go to the islands. The host - Daphne was very pleasant and helpful. We had our apartment on 6th floor. Amazing garden view, we were surprised how lovely the apartment is. Great layout of the room, open concept which come with kitchen, dining table, living room, 1 bathroom and a huge suite. There are 1 queen bed & 2 single beds pullout. Apartment is well equipped with 2 air-con & ceiling fans. There is a washing machine + dryer. Kitchen comes with kitchen amenities, utensils, microwave, fridge, cooking pots & pans, dishwasher soap. I can conclude everything is so nice and perfect like a stay at home. It was an excellent value. I wish we could have stayed longer. ☺️”

“This beachfront apartment did not have a sunset view but the view of the ocean is awesome. The swimming pool at this block, block D was not very clean. Bottled water is provided but you may want to buy extra if you plan to stay longer. Cooking utensils, plates and cutleries are provided. There is also a microwave. There is a restaurant on site and the Nexus Karambunai Resort is about 5 mins (by car). This place is about 30 mins from Kota Kinabalu city and about 15 mins to 1B mall. Along the way, if you are taking the jalan sulaman road, there is a KFC drive thru and a McD drive thru. If you've rented a car, you can try going for seafood at Salut seafood restaurant or Gayang seafood restaurant about 10mins drive. There's also a crocodile farm nearby and you can go up to Kokol Haven Resort (temperature about 20-24°C) which is also around this area.”

“This room is at front of the IMAGO mall so location is so good. But If u want to go IMAGO, u have to cross the road. This road is a four lane highway. I recommand just take taxi(U can walk but maybe die And room was clean but I gave star only 4. Because theres a little bit humidity. But host was very kind And facility is good. And if I go KK again surely choice this room!”

“It’s located between jetty and Seria. Both are two minutes walk away. New condo with big pools. We enjoyed to stay there. Thank you Vall !”

“1)awesome place to stay 2)love the view 3)clean 4)comfortable 5) Irene is nice..quick respond when we need/ask her.. This apartment is perfect!”

“Facilities were adequate. However, since the unit faces the evening sun, it is a bit warm and one of the air conditioning units were out of order.”

“The host (Ann) is very helpful and kind. She responded to our queries attentively. The seaview apartment unit given to us is very clean, tidy, with complete kitchenware and washing machine, all in best condition, that has made our 3 night stay at ease, comfy and relaxing, since the unit is facing the ocean. Waking up to those view is mesmerizing. Im traveling with a group of 8 adults and the apartment unit is more than enough to accomodate us all. The 8th family member slept on the sofa in the living room in which according to him is very comfy. Iam very happy as all my family members are very satisfied with the apartment unit that we stayed in. Not forgetting, the unit given to us are complete with wifi, an added advantage to the apartment unit and an easy and fast access to the internet. The host, is very kind and considerate in many ways. The apartment is very clean & tidy and most important all the shower water heater are functioning well. Thank you.”

“Great location, shopping mall below with lots of cuisines. Convenient e-hailing. ”

“Fast respon, comfortable, super clean, nice and friendly ”

“Good location. Only 5 minutes walk to beatiful beach where we had local sea foods or italian foos together while enjoy watching sea, island, birds and sun and listening music. Only 8 minutes walk to local big market where we bought a fresh Australian lobster with cheap price, had it cooked then ate at a smallrestaurant inside the market. Clean room. Outstanding landlords who are young couple. They can speak English well and willingly anwser our queries.”

“The owner of this house is very friendly. They really provide us great service. They also tried their best to provide us full facilities. Even reserved us private parking at last minute request. Highly recommended. Hope someday will book this stay again.”

“Only the bedsheets & blankets need changing... will look cleaner in white instead of the colourful floral patterned”

“Owner is very responsive and contactable via WhatsApp with the number provided with the booking confirmation. Everything is neat and labelled. The bedrooms were furnished with built in wardrobes. Bedsheets were good quality, very clean. Amenities in kitchen was provided - full sized fridge, microwave oven, convection oven, induction stove, rice cooker, water filter with hot and cold water dispenser. There is also a washing machine and aromatic humidifiers. Imago mall is connected via a carpark, very convenient. Maybe the only down side, is there is no TV network provided, but there's a DVD player. Not really an issue for me since we barely had time to watch TV. Fits 5 adults comfortably. Check in and out is easy as the owner met up at the lobby on time and pre-filled the security form with information I have provided.”

“I highly recommend people to stay at Gaya Island Resort! It is the best hotel in Kota Kinabalu. All the staff are friendly and nice. The room also comfortable and has nice design! Inside the room has a big bath tub and the room is comfortable. The breakfast also delicious and tasty. I recommend people who plan to stay here can try the Sinigang Steamboat as dinner, the seafood is fresh. You don't need to cook the meat or seafood yourselves. Just Sit over there, the waiter will serve you. Overall, I will stay at Gaya Island Resort again when I travel to Kota Kinabalu.”

“The landord suddenly close the business without inform Agoda we already booked 4 night, unfortunately your system unable to notify us.”

“NEGATIVE: Difficult to find entrance Clingy host and disturbing my holiday After scan the card getting out from parking, need to get back to the entrance lobby to return the key to PO box POSITIVE The aircon and TV at the first booked unit not working but then getting a bigger and better replacement”

“The apartment was spacious.. has free wifi.. Pool is open till 10pm.. However we enjoyed our stay there. Totally recommended to those who are having a vacation, a night out with friends, a short getaway too. The night view is also not bad. The lights were mesmerizing that you couldn't even want to close the curtains at night. Suitable for family of 5 and friends as well ;)”

“The owner is very friendly and the place comfort feel like home, clean and tidy. Value for money.”

“House has washing machine, boiler, water heater, air conditioning, TV and mini fridge. Sufficient for me”

“One of my preferred hotel in kota kinabalu. It is located just outside the busy boundary of kk city centre. Basically you are outside from the busiest part of the town yet you still can walk by foot to the city cemtre and by car, it only took 2 minutes (this because of the traffic light). The service is great, the staff is doing the best that they can to provide comfort. The room is spacious. The room is clean but it look a bit old. There is a nice view from our hotel window. We can see the busy kk town center and at the same time we can see the beautiful view of mount kinabalu. The breakfast is nice. There is a lot of variety to choose from. The restaurant environment somehow make me feel like i am home. Maybe because i have stay in this hotel quite a few time already. I love the lobby environment. The tapai lounge provide variety of drinks and nice relaxing music. You would definitely need to go the bar and relax with your family. I would highly recommend this hotel for family or couple who just want to relax yet at the same time want an easy access to town center.”

“the horizon hotel in kota kinabalu is situated in the heart of the city close the istanza, the sabah governor’s residence. it’s a new hotel, being only 4 months old. but don’t let that dissuade you from staying here. the general manager, philip d. theseira, who i would now count as a good friend, has a top rate staff. all are very welcoming, polite and most helpful; addressing you by name as to go about your business. they even moved me to a new room, because i couldn’t establish an internet connection in my original room. rooms are spacious having king sized beds, a small area for sitting and relaxing, and large walk in showers. larger rooms are also available for those with children. but the room size i had was perfect for the duration of my stay. the hotel has three levels of secure private parking, which is free to hotel guests. in addition there is a swimming pool and well equipped gymnasium on the sixth floor, allowing for mostly uninterrupted views out across the bay. these are used at the guest’s own risk, as there are no staff or life guards present. the two excellent restaurants, give the guest a choice of food styles from around the region, as well as international cuisine. however please be aware that all food is halal, so there is no pork available on the menus. with its situation in the centre of the city; it’s only a short walk to all the shopping malls, restaurants and bars. i never had to use a taxi once, preferring to walk around and see all that was on offer. it’s also ideally located to all the scuba dive centres that offer very reasonably priced diving off the islands of gaya and sapi. i’ve already planned my next stay, if for nothing else, but the convenience. but that’s not the only reason of course.”

“It was a family outing with young girl & she really enjoyed her time at the pool. She woke up real early to spend another splashing hours at the pool before v checked out. It was a good joyous stay at this new 4-star facilities in Kota Kinabalu. The room is spacious & well equipped with fridge, safe & flat screen TV. The hotel staff is pleasant & helpful & it's choice of buffet breakfast is very good. 2 hypermarkets r only minutes walk away & plenty of good Muslim restaurants in the area. Kota Kinabalu International Airport is a mere 5 minutes drive. The hotel also provides free security parking for motorist guest like me. Good value for money hotel!”

“I was in Kota Kinabalu with my mom to visit family members. The reason why I chose Novotel was for its brand name. Based on the price I paid for the room, I am indeed satisfied with the service provided to me. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. As I arrived early I could not check in, however my information was taken before hand, and when I got back there at 4:00 PM, my room was ready. Room was clean and tidy (considering it's new). The only downside was the swimming pool (Why is there no dedicated shower room? Instead there's 2 toilets) and the in-house gym (2 cardio machines and an all-in-one weight machine). Overall, I say this is a good hotel and would definitely recommend to friends/family.”

“I have experienced the hotel twice now and the staff were able to recognise me on my second stay. Check in and check out was efficient and in Kota Kinabalu this hotel has internet connection which is reliable. Telephone operators are friendly and reliable. Room service was reasonably priced and served efficently.”

“If you are looking for midrange resort in Kota Kinabalu, Beringgis beach resort is the perfect choice. Immediately upon check in, I was impressed by the resort lobby which is uniquely Asian and Malaysian. The front desk staff were extremelly friendly and helpfull, I was given all info that I need. The lobby has a sundry shop, mini library and internet corner, You can enjoy the beutiful and green garden from the lobby. Soon after checked in, I was assisted by the bellhope to my room and impressed with the cleanliness.I was given newly renovated room which is very comfortable and have a great view of swimming pool. the breakfast served was very good and the spa packages was reasonable, value for money. I was very satisfied with my stay and will come back to this resort again.”

“It's far from the central business district (kota kinabalu); you'll definitely need a car to get around. But, the hotel itself is located within a small commercial area and Grabcars are easy to come by. Rooms were spacious and clean, and staff were friendly. Food served for breakfast could be much better.”

“Is one of the best hotels in Kota Kinabalu. this position is located in the hills surrounding circumstances that really gives peace of vehicle noise. It was so exciting for me and I want to come here if there is time yet.”

“the suite is very suitable for family with young child stay for a holiday at kota kinabalu. The accommodation is stay at place which can easily to visit town .... all the facility is ok but need time to improve. My family also planning at end year holiday also stay back this accommodation.”

“It’s been few times we been staying there everytime we came to Kota Kinabalu , but Dailypod unit is the best we had all this while . It’s been great , the area is big and worth for the price . We sure will come back and no more to scroll just directly choose for dailypod unit for sure .”

“Theres no iron stand and baby cot provided and a place to hang clothes.”

“Overall is good based on the friendliness of the owner and cleanliness of the place. Its just its quite hard to grab a taxi or Grab to / from airport to the place.”

“Pros: Security guards everywhere, restaurants nearby, fast wifi, TV channel is clear compare to some that offered the same price, ample parking spaces and are still free, close to the city Cons: Aeropods still not fully construted. Gateway to the parking place is sometimes close, have to move around and pass the gravel before we can get into the building. The only rundown is, if you want to get to the city, or Tg Aru, the u-turn is very far off. We have to wait for the fly over to be finished where the u-turn is much closer. Additional info, I don't like the woman at the counter in Hameed Maju restaurant, don't show ur angry face to your customer, very irritating(not related to Haruka's obviously) But it is still a great place to stay.”

“We got an upgrade to a huge room with kitchen - Otter's House! View is awesome: lush greenery, sunset at the west, Kota Kinabalu night view, all from within the room! Sinurambi has a swimming pool facing west for sunset view, narrow path leading to small orchard, they even have snooker and table tennis as leisure. we even observed 1 of the best sunrise at the east side of Sinurambi! Our host Rose and her team went all the way to make sure we feel comfortable while staying in the jungle. Sinurambi seems isolated yet it is only 40min drive from KKIA, and only 15min walk to Crocker Range National Park. All in all we had a fantastic stay there!”

“Everything is great with this apartment. Free access to private parking, high speed internet, clean environment, and good staff/host. Checkin/out process is easy since it is self checkin/out. The apartment is close to the pool, if you have small children trying to sleep the people at the pool can be loud. It's not so much problem for us. On the good side, the pool looks really nice from the bedroom because it looks like stars sparkling in the water.”

“There was a problem in the bathroom door but the host came really fast to fix the problem. Also the room was well designed”

“Stephen and his wife were great in ensuring we had a good stay. The apartment was very cosy and comfortable. Kids loved the pool and their beds. Amenities were a walk away. The pool had an OK view of the sunset (not full sunset though). Many thanks to Stephen's family for a wonderful holiday. Hope to be back again for Kundasang, KK and Eastern Sabah... Would recommend this cosy studio apartment for those that have plans to walk around KK town . Stephen was very detailed and helpful with everything! (Ie checking in, recommended places nearby and etc). Unfortunately, my stay was such a short one and would love to come back and highly recommended to everyone.”

“Good for family with young children because Same floor with the playground. Need to check the kitchen sink, it was clog & water comes out from the floor drainage. Overall great place”

“The villa was nice. There seems to be a jacuzzi pool inside the villa but no hot water. Breakfast are not provided in the Agoda booking, according to the staff. The swimming pool is great.”

“My daughter had a great time and wishing to come back soon!”
