Mackay hotels & places to stay

WE only had a one night quick stay and the Clarion was situated close to the Mackay Surf club where our function was....Loved our room and our view Our room was clean and spacey. Loved the long bench in the bathroom And I want one of those lovely chairs that are in the room

We were traveling for work, were put up in a cheaper place through work and ended up booking our own accommodation for the night. Great price, awesome room, super helpful friendly staff. The only thing I would improve is the bathroom cleanliness. From traveling around a bit I have noticed that alot of places fall short on how well they clean their bathrooms. Not the end of the world and didn't ruin our stay, just an observation.

Right in the heart of Mackay, close to everything. Fantastic service from the reception staff, would only stay here in Mackay.

Our tv didnt support Foxtel, it was different to the two brands listed so instructions were irrelevant. wifi was very poor but did work. Location was very quiet but need a car to get to any shops. Separate bedroom to lounge, so was good for couples if one wanted to watch tv. No tv in bedroom, which was good.

We travel to Mackay for kids sporting events. We will be staying here again! Friendly staff, close to everything we needed, facilities were great. Top weekend!

Couldn't recommend Riviera more - the apartments are brand new and stylish, the views over the river are beautiful and the staff are very helpful. I've stayed in a few different hotels in Mackay and this is hands down the nicest. The management also allowed me a very late checkout for no cost which was fabulous and made our day. Highly recommended.

I booked the Coral Cay when I booked my airfare. I hadn't stayed there before, so wasn't sure what to expect. The motel looks new. Check in was smooth. The parking space was roomy. The room was clean and spacious. Staff were attentive. The restaurant food was tasty and not overly expensive. My room was fairly close to Nebo Road and I could hear traffic noise; though it wasn't loud enough to keep me awake. The bed was very comfortable. I look forward to staying there when next in Mackay

Excellent stay in new motel with quality furnishings, larger sized rooms, lovely pool and great staff service. On main road into Mackay, easy to find from the airport and close to a good hotel and Coles supermarket Excellent, friendly staff service Did not eat a restaraurant, but menu appealing and not badly priced Pool really clean, with complimentary additional pool tools offered. Excellent laundry facilities Good TV, larger size and modern. Quiet, effective air conditions and cannot hear main road from rooms at back of property. Comfortable beds with good quality linen. Mini bar also, at mini bar prices

Was a very nice place to stay. The kitchen was great. Couldn't have asked for better views as well, we had a nice view of the water and town. Staff were very friendly and accommodated all of our requests very promptly considering how busy they were with the hotel being sold out. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping, not a far cab ride to the exhibition center. Would be very happy to stay here again. Thank you.

Good clean recently refurbished rooms, "cool palms" are a plenty making good shade and cool gounds. Super friendly staff, simply the best value motel in Mackay. And the best Fish 'n' Chips in North Queensland justb200m down the road!!

We had an early morning flight, so decided to stay in town at Coral Sands. It was so convenient for everything. The room was just a basic motel room but was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfy and the bathroom had everything we needed. A courtesy tea & Coffee tray are provided and we were very pleasantly surprised at the price. It is great value for money and we would most definitely stay here again.

Arrived late to the Motel, but still felt welcomed although the reception was closed. Air con and lights were on in the room and we even had gotten milk in the fridge for coffee or tea! Room was very clean, had a Tv as well as a little book of what you could do in Mackay. We were allowed to leave our bags in the reception the next day as our bus didn't go until late that evening, and even got a ride to the station. I would recommend this motel to anyone in Mackey. Not only is location perfect and provided with clean, spacious rooms but also one of the best hospitalities I have been given!

Usually the best value accommodation for my stays in Mackay. I happen to stay in the same room as last trip and I advised them then that the air-conditioners in that room were permanently on very cold, no matter what changes were made. Air-conditioners were not fixed for this stay either- disappointing. Other than that - All staff are welcoming and helpful. The same dinner chef is still there. He is a great cook with very good public relations skills as does his staff. Excellent meal and wine menu. Breakfast chef also very good. Even if I wasn't staying in hotel, I would eat in the restaurant .

On the highway yet quieter than anticipated. Undercover parking. Walking distance to a variety of eating options. Would definitely stay there again.

There was a lot of noise coming from the upstairs level a lot of banging and you could hear the people's footsteps when they were walking around very annoying and also the noise from the next door motel their swimming pool was right next door to the window so there was constant noise coming from there as well there were a lot of ants throughout the room even after the room was cleaned the ants were there straight away

An excellent motel with outstanding owners who give the extra effort to make the guests feel welcome. I won't stay anywhere else in Mackay.

I was travelling on my own and found the staff and service at the MacKay Rose was excellent. Always a smiling face and very helpful. I would definitely stay there again and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone else.

Close to my family. Cons were that it was not like a motel where sheets and towels were changed. I was there for 11 nights and things not changed though there was a washing machine where I could gave done it myself. Lovely owners were were really helpful and really nice

The Motel was great, location was beautiful and the staff was very lovely and accommodatinflg, they went above and beyond.

Only stayed 1 night. It's a nice apartment hotel. I will stay again. Although Mackay hotels in general need to adjust their tariffs - the mining boom Isn't happening anymore so they need to offer reasonable rates

Our stay was good. Being called a Motel, I expected to be able to get an evening meal there, that's why I booked it. It was a bit disappointing after a long drive to have to go out and source an evening meal, especially as we didn't know our way around Mackay. The cleanliness of the place was faultless and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

On check in the staff were friendly and fast. We got to our room and the view was fantastic. The room was comfortable but outdated. The cleanliness wasn't up to standard. The floors were dirty and we had black feet from it, I would say it hadn't been mopped in a while. The bathroom wasn't as clean as I would expect and the wine glasses were dirty. On our second night our room didn't get serviced and eventually after asking twice we received two towels but the room didn't get serviced. We booked one night to begin with and then decided we wanted to enjoy the location a bit more and relax. When we got back and the room hadn't been cleaned it was very disappointing and we were thinking of leaving. I'm not sure if ill recommend this hotel to anyone. Its a real shame that they have a perfect location and staff but can't seem to have that same cleanliness or modern rooms.

You get what you pay for. The small rooms had neither an exhaust fan in the bathroom nor a window to open. Had to leave the door open a bit in order not to run out of oxygen.

My stay was find, whilst rooms could do with some modern upgrades, on the whole my experience was as expected. Clean and tidy, room facilities great, a bit out dated, but all working sufficiently. I did find the local traffic quite loud however, which I did not expect. bed was comfortable, grounds kept very well, park facilities excellent. I fell this location is as it should be for the price, and would use it again, should I have the need to travel to Mackay again in the future.

In a nutshell, 3.5 stars is top end for this motel. It's old, the water pressure is low and the shampoo low rent. But you know what... the owners are great, the place immaculately clean, the bed comfy, the pillow just right for me, there was plenty of coffee, some bickies, a decent TV, Austar and a great Air Conditioner. For me it was just a little too far away from the central area of Mackay, but that was really about the only downside. Mind you, nobody is going to go there without a car, so it really doesn't matter. If you're looking for a budget hotel that's top of its class, you will find one here.

Stayed here for business, room was basic, neat and tidy, recently refurbished, location is terrific, plenty of eating options within walking distance. Staff friendly and helpful.
