Stayed for 8 nights at the beginning of November. The villa was fantastic, even better than described and larger and more beautiful than we had imagined. The location is good, with shops and restaurants within walking distance. In our opinion the area is one of the best on the island, although the local beach is a little disappointing but with a car it is not a problem. Would recommend Marguery Villas (we had 3 bed deluxe) to anyone who wishes to visit Mauritius.

We had four nights (three full days essentially) at Lux Belle Mare. The grounds are immaculate and you can do as little or as much as you like. We took the 'accommodation only' - food not included. This really suited us because we are not big eaters and we love to try EVERYTHING - and we went to just about every restaurant. We also went out and about, so a few 'resort meal times' were missed! The service is excellent. We had an issue with our bill on the second day. An error based on the slight language barrier. We went to the front desk and it was all sorted out without too much problem. It's great to deal with professionals! The food was excellent and we took advantage of the full range on offer. If you are on a meal plan, I don't think all restaurant food is applicable. Whilst you might get a credit amount, it's only a similar value to a single main portion. The service at the restaurants is excellent. Top quality service - without doubt. Alcohol is very very expensive. One bottle of wine low - mid range price is the same cost as two main meals. Be prepared... There is plenty to do, so take advantage of the resort facilities. Also, take the time to explore the island. Outside the resort is another world - it's called Mauritius!! The concierge organised day taxi to go to the most amazing places. You also get a chance to support the local economy and smaller businesses. All in all, a great place to stay, very expensive, excellent service, extremely friendly, fabulous grounds, great range of facilities.

When we arrived to Sugar beach resort we fell in love with it immediately!!!We had a very warm welcome from all the staff of the resort and all our wishes were not a problem to them. The rooms are nice and cozy,with air conditioning!i have to say I was surprised by our cleaning lady,she was leaving flowers for us every morning and was very useful in giving tips about excursions and where to go in Mauritius. And the beach....Oh my God!!!! We just love the place!!!

Generally very good (stay last year Oct 2014) Pros: - Fantasic Location, nice stretch of quiet beach. We had a beach front room & the sea was 20 steps away. We sat at the terrace to watch the sea activities - Terrific Food Variety We always had a good choice of dinner & chefs were very nice to make our TomYam soup hotter in the Asian Restaurant & the Michellin Star Indian Restaurant makes the BEST lampchops i ever have..still missing it! - Staff The service staff was fantasic, they remembered us & our "specials" Special recognition to Nicolas who always made sure I have my Citrus Honey during breakfast everyday for 2 weeks! David the expert bartender who gave Marko & me the honour of trying his special rosemary cocktail which won the competition Atul from the diving centre for giving my partner the personalised 1on1 trial diving - i CANNOT thank you enuff. He got over his "concerns" abt diving. You can be sure, next time we come to mauritius we WILL DIVE WITH YOU :) Cons (could have been better) - We had a quite a headache with the "water" in the room. We wanted extra bottles of water in the room since the weather was very hot.. Some days the bulter service agreed, some days they refused.. some days they wanna charged us, but they are willing to give us a lot more extra tea & coffee capsules but just not water..weird. Might be good to have a Standard Procedure so as to not confuse the guest. - Might be good to check the condition of your furnitures..the bed in our room had collapsed at 1 corner. To be honest, we didn realised it ourselves until we drop something near the bed,bend down & saw it. But no excuse for a 5 star hotel :) (Room no was 402 / 412 : the beachfront villa beside the other pool) All & all, Miss Fussy Monkey here had a lovely time at the place & we will be back, because it's worth every single cent

Everything was perfect at Maradiva hotel! We were there for Christmas with our 2 small kids and we enjoyed our stay a lot. On Christmas Day the hotel surprised the kids with gifts from Santa and my kids were so happy. Everything about the hotel was amazing from the way it looks to the punctual service, cleanliness, spacious rooms... It rained for few hours everyday but this did not stop us from doing a lot of activities all around Mauritius. If you’re looking to sun tan you can head east and enjoy a full day of island hopping. We had an amazing vacation and we were sad to leave. We’ll definitely be back and of course we’ll choose Maradiva for our stay again.

we were 'touring' mauritius as individuals and staying at different hotels as we made our way around the island. we pre booked our initial two day stay on the east coast then made our way gradually round the island booking as we travelled. this was the best hotel of the hotels we stayed at in mauritius. we were greeted warmly by the staff throughout our stay and upon arrival shown to our villa. a very comfortable villa with everything we could possibly need to make our stay relaxing including our own pool and even a jacuzzi 'bed' in the pool. comfortable sun loungers and a covered area to sit outside and enoy a meal were also to be found in the garden. steps led down from the garden onto the beach which was very pleasant to walk along to the bar/restaurant area if you didn't wish to walk along the path at the back of the villa. spectacular waves were present during the night we stayed there, not sure if always like that but the sight and sound of them added to the charm. the hotel was situated in a cove of sorts with soft sand stretching one way and large boulders and a headland in the other direction. there was a choice of restaurants and the food was excellent. unfortunately we were not there for the weekly 'fish' bbq which takes place on the headland behind where our villa was situated. a shame as that sounded to be a really lovely evening. we were unable to stay a second night as, sadly, we had pre booked another hotel further round the coast to drop off our hire car. we would definitely recommend shanti maurice to anyone looking for a relaxing break as it is situated in a pretty part of the islands southern coastline with lots of small bays and inlets. the hotel had a lot of charm and warm, friendly staff and you didn't feel you were over run by huge tour groups.

there were only three reviews on this hotel when we booked and they were in korean, isreali and chinese! nevertheless, it seemed exceptionally good value for a 5 star hotel so we decided to try it out. it was our third hotel in mauritius and by far and away the best. service was excellent, food was outstanding and quality of rooms was superb. the infinity pool, bar area and beach area were particularly impressive....think cool, modern ibiza style. there was no end to activities on offer including: sailing, windsurfing, snorkelling, diving, waterskiing, cycling, tennis, pitch and putt, gym, football, yoga, cooking classes, etc they even lay on a boat to take you to the tousserok golf course. compared to the other resorts we visited on mauritius, the value for money was exceptional. we hope to go back again one day.

We have travelled extensively and this is quite simply the best hotel we've ever stayed in. Everything is beautifully and tastefully presented and the staff were so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Unusual to have such a high level of quality combined with a welcoming atmosphere. If you're going to Mauritius - stay here!

This hotel is set at the best location in Mauritius. The beach simply is the best, you can take a very nice swim or just lay there. Snorkeling was nice and easy, just a quick boat ride. Facilities (the pool in particular) and water sports were super. Also, there is a supermarket right across the road and a few nice restaurants within walking distance so you don't really get stuck in the hotel. Overall, we loved this place and would recommend. The thing can be improved: Normally in Mauritius the staff anywhere are simply amazing so you would come with high expectations on service. In this hotel, the service level was a bit weaker vs. the rest (I stayed in 3 different resorts so far in Mauritius, dined in a few restaurants outside, went to a few excursions, judging by that).

The smoothest check-in we have ever experienced. The breakfast included both a la carte & buffet which was amazing but nothing can compare to the dinner, the 5-course dinner every night, it was just impeccable. When you see the food presentation you might think, this might not be as delicious as it looks, but they exceeded my expectations without a doubt. The room - we stayed in Ocean View Villa with Private Pool & the view was stunning. The private pool didn't have a temperature control but that didn't stop me from soaking in almost every afternoon hahaha, the size was big compared to other 5-star-luxury hotels. I felt at home in this hotel, the manager along with his staff made us feel very comfortable and taken care of. You will definitely not regret staying in this hotel. Thank you Angsana Balaclava !

In general, we had a very relaxed business and leisure trip and stay in Maritim Hotel Mauritius. In fact, we have been to this beautiful islands almost every year or 2 years since year 2000. We have stayed in many hotels but we would say Maritim is the best of all out of the 4 or 5 stars hotel that we have ever stayed in Mauritius so far. In short, it has all the best thing except same breakfast everyday for our 7 days stay duration.

We had taken the Beach View room. Pros - Large room with big bath tub - Scenic view of Beach direct from room - very nice food - clean - friendly staff - good Beach facilities Cons - Very expensive food - TV was old and didn't have video playback from USB Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and I recommend this to anyone looking to have a nice and peaceful time in Mauritius. It is located on the South West coast so it is very calm and has beautiful Scenic views on the roads leading to nearby villages and tourist attractions. For food, you can have breakfast at the hotel and lunch and dinner at nearby restaurants which are at cycling/motorable distances as food is over priced in the hotel. The restaurants in South close by 7:30/8:00 so plan accordingly. It is best to rent a car and roam around in Mauritius.

We Booked Royal Suite Room on ground floor.. which we think one of the best room you can get on this island for the price. Everything was good to excellent. The only main downsides were location and restaurant. location is only for those who do not want to go out of the resort as everything is at least 45 minutes to 1 hour from the resort. In restaurant, our main concern was we were served same buffet every morning for 5 days of our stay. Another issue we had that they were dogs roaming around.. Street dogs and even we found that one of the dog was even drinking water from the pool. This was very sick to see. On to the positives, the room layout furniture was very top end. The cleanliness was up to the mark. The staff was very courteous and there was prompt room service every time.

Absolutely brilliant- this hotel is perfectly placed if you want to experience some of the wilder, raw Mauritius, swim with dolphins, climb le Morne etc. Beautiful beaches and sunsets. The hotel staff were really accommodating, and will help you make the most of the many things to do in the area.

Me and my girlfriend went here just for one night to celebrate her 28th birthday. I mentioned to the hotel staff in one email, that we are celebrating and what can they offer to have a better experience. Reply was that they will do what is in their power :) When we arrived, they immediately gave us a free upgrade of the room to waterfront access deluxe room and it was really beautiful :D After that they surprised us with a bottle of champagne and little snacks, delivered in the room in the evening to have an even better celebration. Wow it was really nice. When we finished the bottle already a little disy, we went to resorts sushi restaurant without any reservation hopping that we might have a little of luck and guess what.. Even though it was full they gave us a very nice table to have a very tastefull dinner. I recommend this place it is called Kushi. On the end of the dinner all the staff started singing Happy Birthday song to my girlfriend and served us with a birthday cake :D whaaat?! We could not beleive, how many surprises they had for us. After that we had another drink at the bar and went back to our room where there was another and final surprise, everything tidied up, on the bed we found a Happy Birthday written with the flower leaves and two swans made of towels :) All that really was soo nice and we really enjoyed our stay. This resort must be the best resort in whole Mauritius! Staff is super nice and understanding, they even gave us a late check-out at 4pm. This resort has a lot to offer, go there and enjoy every part of it! You will love it!!! Thank you Shangri-la you are the best!!! D&K

We had a beautiful stay here, we saw the entire island and we booked different hotels but this was the best one. The beach is so scenic and very private I would say. Although it’s quite a big resort the beach was not crowded and we found our peace there. We will definitely come back and we will stay longer. Thumbs up for the Dinarobin team! 👍🏻

My husband and I have stayed in many 5 star hotels, but this is the best service we have experienced. We were unlucky and had a 10 days vacation during the tropical cyclone Bansi that came close to the Island. Even though our sunny holiday never happened, the hotel staff and chefs made our stay amazing anyway. We had a great time, the food is truly fantastic. Think very high standard a la carte menu in a buffét presentation. We usually shy away from buffets but this was great. Oysters, sea urchins, great sushi and sashimi, catch of the day on the barbeque and so on. There is alot to choose from so there is something for everyone. If you choose St Geran, please order lunch on the beach. The beachboxes are amazing, comes with desert and even with silver cutlery. High standard all the way around. ..Maybe a butler comes and ask you if you want your sunglasses polished. Small things that make your stay luxurious.

Having stayed at the Constance Ephelia in Seychelles which was really a good hotel, we decided to try the Constance in Mauritius. Unfortunately, it is nowhere close to the luxury experienced in Seychelles. The rooms are old and require complete refurbishment, not only soft furnishings and the rooms require a lot of maintenance. Service was good, the buffet dinner was not all that good for a 5* hotel, but the pool menus were reasonable. Pool towels were fairly hard to get, but the supervisor from Housekeeping was exceptional and she sorted us out. Nothing was too much for her. The Guest Relations is useless as anything that a guest wanted done had to be repeated at least 3 times before it was done. The speciality restaurants are mediocre and although they are supposed to serve gourmet food, the food received was just in small portions and in no way gourmet. The dessert were very good. Breakfast selection was never really varied and a simple request for peanut butter was required. There are really better hotels on the Island for even lower prices, but the cost is not the main reason that we didn't enjoy the hotel. I would far rather stay at the Lux Grand Gaube, or the Beachcomber Trou aux Biches, or at the Shan-Gri La hotels.

Anahita The Resort, along with Four Seasons hotel is one of the best hotels in Mauritius. The Golf course is excellent. The room is also spacious and a housekeeper is waiting for help all the time. Price is high compared to other hotels along the east coast of Mauritius.

We enjoyed a lovely three night stay at Le Cardinal. The experience was somewhat marred, however, by alcohol prices that are little short of outrageous. Whilst I understand that Mauritius is an island, and that there are import duties and middlemen, paying as much for single bottle of South African wine as would yield no fewer than ten bottles of the same wine from a retail outlet in South Africa, smacks of profiteering on a grand scale. Even local rums are massively overpriced and detracted from enjoyment of a cocktail on the beach lounger. Also, the practice of only providing complimentary bottled water for the guests on the first night leaves a bad impression. Bottled water of the quality provided (not Perrier or even San Pellegrino)- I think the brand was Crystal, is inexpensive enough to provide to guests on a gratis basis. The goodwill generated will far outweigh the minimal cost.

One of our best holidays so far and we had the most wonderful stay at the Hilton Mauritius. The staff looked after us so well in every aspects and our room with the ocean view was to kill for !! Love the beautiful landscape garden on the entire resort and the trips organised by the Boat House were good fun attended by friendly crew. Buffet breakfast was delicious with great service and the seafood lunch at Les Coquillages was simply outstanding. We would love to return to Hilton in the near future and thank you for making our holiday so special.

We loved our 3 bedroom apartment with best views of the sea, close to the facilities of the resort and to the restaurants. The apartment was clean and well maintained with all amenities required. We were a group of 6 people and we all had our own space. Our 3 year old son thoroughly enjoyed the beach and the swimming pool and wants to come back for his birthday!

I travelled with my husband and parents to Mauritius and stayed at Royal Palm for 1 week. Service was superb and room is just at the beach. And I love the restaurants! we were the only Chinese family at Royal Palm during that week. They even prepared us with Asian Breakfast as surprise and mooncake for mid-autumn festival, which made us so happy. Thanks so much Royal Palm for giving us the best holiday ever.

The resort ticked all our boxes as a family. The only recommendation will be to modernize the bathrooms for a superior feeling of comfort. The staff was amazing & made us feel super comfortable. We enjoyed the facilities including the massages at spa. Vishal from house keeping is truly an asset to the resort. Avrish from front desk was also very helpful & Caroline from reception made my kids feel very welcome too. Jean from Infinity Blue made our experience memorable. The 6 course gala dinner was exceptional, we especially loved that it was on my husband's birthday. Staff at Savanna was lovely & it was nice to see Deepa again. Rosemary the assistant hotel manager was delightful. We cannot wait to come back. The Naidoo Family

The staff in the hotel really contribute to making your experience great. A lot of water activities and the food was good too. The rooms are a bit old and need refurbishment , but are still very comfortable. The beaches in this area of mauritius are a bit rocky and a lot of shells. Over all a good resort. Would definitely go back , value for money.

We went for the first time to Mauritius to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and selected Le Prince Maurice based on reviews and the online photographs. We were not disappointed! We had a perfect 6 days, even though it was low season and quiet. The service and friendliness of all staff was the best I have ever experienced! The restaurants were excellent, and I was amazed that the golf, sailing and water skiing were all included! The facilities were top class! I would thoroughly recommend to older or middle aged couples. The only drawback - it was very quiet in the evenings! There was good qua lit live music every evening, but very much "background " music, with no real social gathering place in the evenings for dancing or socialising. This is thoroughly in keeping with the peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, but a shame if you are looking for a more sociable experience. We pretty much stuck to ourselves, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

No doubt..! It is an excellent facility to stay with family. Space, basic amenities inside the apartment, cleanliness & household infrastructure, everything is excellent. However, as far as entertainment is concerned....operating the TV set was a big challenge. Almost every time kids tried to entertain with TV, they find the signals too weak to download any program. Moreover, support staff is only available during office hours (8 am ~ 5 pm). So need to wait till next day morning to get anything fixed inside apartment after office hours. But those who wish to stay in northern part of Mauritius, this apartment is highly recommended & to some extent , is a value for money.

The bubble lodge is an unique experience of sleeping under the stars, in the middle of a pristine island, surrounded by trees, birds and the silence. The lodge personnel is incredibly polite and they make you feel like royals. The lodge is clean, modern, has all facilities and its located so that you have intimacy. The shower is outside the lodge, in nature, which feels amazing. It's the best accommodation I ever had!!!

We have stayed in hotels all over the world and Heratige Le Telfair has been the best by far. The staff were exceptional and provided service you could only dream of. The hotel had a colonial feel to it, the rooms were large and immaculately clean and the grounds tropically lush. With a choice of many restaurants providing good and varied food there is no need to go off site unless you really wanted to. It is not a stay at Le Telfair, it is an experience of pure luxury and service. We will never stay anywhere else in Mauritius.
