Hotel Mystic Mountain
Nagarkot,Nagarkot - View on map
"One of the Best Hotel and great Views to stay in Nagarkot, some parts of roads to the Mystic Mountain were Bumpy but not for so long. Hotel staffs very friendly, Dinner Buffet was good with good music playing, breakfast was ok but bit disturbed in morning relax moment by restaurants staffs talking too loud to each other. ( maybe since we don't speak Nepali, got bit distracted ) hope it will be improved especially with international guests around. Overall perfect hot spot and great staffs and accommodation. "

Peaceful Cottage & Cafe Du Mont
Nagarkot,Nagarkot - View on map
"It was a rattling ride up to Nagarkot, and the rocky driveway to the hotel gave us pause. But once we got into our room, we were thrilled by the clear and vivid view of the Himalayas. This is why we came to Nepal: to be with the mountains. We arrived on a holiday (the Nepalese version of Deepavali), and the hotel was short-staffed, but the man who helped us was excellent, and we felt at home. Breakfasts on the hotel's broad terrace gave us an even broader view than from our own room. There are two floors of three rooms each below the terrace. We had "Sunrise Top," the easterly room on the top floor. Ask for it. When staffed, the restaurant is good. And the breakfasts, although not a buffet, were well prepared and adequate. We took a walk from Nagarkot village along the "nature trail." It took a bit longer than we expected, around 2.5+ hours, but gave a good feeling of the forest there."

"I went for a business trip to Kathmandu, had a night stay in Nagarkot at New Dragon Hotel. The Location of hotel is very fine, i.e. away from all the Hustle and Bustle. Hotel manager is good man and so his wifi password. Best thing is food, great food here. Highly recommended."

Hotel at the End of the Universe
Nagarkot,Nagarkot - View on map
"This is our second time visit to the Hotel at the End of the Universe. The early morning view of the Mount Everest from the hotel lobby was awesome. Excellent location and cottages to hang out with friends. We enjoyed a lot. The cool breeze and the sound of sweetly swinging tree leaves was really peaceful. Last year the experience was good also. They renovated the hotel after the earthquake. Very nice cottages. Both the 2 rooms were nice and warm. But our toilet flusher was not working which was really frustrating. Room price was low but the food price was comparatively very high (had to pay almost 25% extra tax + service charges). Still I will highly recommend this hotel to visit. It is a good hotel to hangout with friends. Day time there is nothing to do in Nagarkot. If you are planning for one night stay at Nagarkot then this is the best place to stay. "

Langtang View Nagarkot Bed & Breakfast
Nagarkot,Nagarkot - View on map
"The owner of the "B&B Nagarkot" is definitely the kindest hotelowner I have ever met. He and his family made me feel welcome at all time of my stay. His sister offered me tea or coffee when I arrived and everyone was smiling all day. The room was clean and I was surprised that I even had a balcony. The toilet and the shower was very modern even if it smelled a bit, but welcome to asia! I had a very thick cover for the night so it didn't get cold. The owner also showed me a second hotel of his self that will open in about two or three month. The name is "Peaceful cottage" and it's at the very top of Nagarkot. You will have an amazing view if you go there! At the end I can say I had an amazing stay and if I come back to Nagarkot I will definitely go in the B&B or the peaceful cottage. I can really recommend this hotel!"

Club Himalaya, by ACE Hotels
Nagarkot,Nagarkot - View on map
"Overall a very nice hotel, but a little pricy in comparison to other similar standard hotels elsewhere, maybe because of weekend stay. Its still the best hotel in Nagarkot though. Also, would've been better if the hot water shower was much hotter, as our stay was still within winter season (early Feb). Best part - staff were very friendly and attended to all our specific requests."

"Had a nice stay. One can stay there for the view from the hotel. Staffs are very friendly. There is no extension phone in the room which made us difficult to communicate. Food quality needs to be improved."

Traveler impressions of Nagarkot

More about Nagarkot

Located on the outside border of Nepal’s Kathmandu Valley, just over 30 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu is this sleepy village that attracts travelers from around the world, who all flock there in search of the town’s stunning mountain views. As it’s so close to Kathmandu, the smartest way to get to Nagarkot is by bus, arriving at Nagarkot Bus Station, which is located right on the main road within easy reach of most of the hotels in the area. The more adventurous trekkers may also choose to simply trek to Nagarkot from Kathmandu, as it’s within manageable distance and the views along the way are certainly worth the effort.

The most popular activity in Nagarkot is simply looking at the mountains. The famous Mount Everest is sometimes visible from some of the high points, especially on a clear day. In the mornings, one should not miss watching the sun rise over the mountains. It’s truly a breathtaking view that should be experienced at least once in a lifetime.

The hills of Nagarkot are thickly covered by pine trees, and the atmosphere is not too elevated for those who aren’t acclimated to high altitude, but high enough to offer some of the cleanest and freshest air in the world. If planning to step out to explore some of the town, perhaps take a leisurely trek through the Jalapadevi Temple Trail, which has the benefit of exploring a local temple while also enjoying the outdoor greenery.

The Kali Devi Temple is a great place to take part in some of Nepal’s religious culture, and is easy to reach on foot from much of the village. Most of the hotels in Nagarkot are very experienced with international tourists who make the trek from Kathmandu, and can recommend the best trails and tour guides if necessary.
