Norwich is a great little city that is often overlooked in my opinion. Norwich offers some charming cobbled streets with a range of independent stores, cafes and shops.
None more so than the boutiques and galleries on Elm Hill. In recent years the market has been modernised and is now a hotbed for some fantastic local food, whether you like locally produced pork and meats or some excellent fusion dishes all at the cheap prices you would expect at a market. Norwich is justifiably famed for its pubs and the excellent Belgian Monk near the market is a great place to start your night out, also visit the Murderers near the castle mall. I also rate Norwich very highly for shopping largely because it is such a compact city and all areas are accessible by foot. I hadn't been to Norwich in over 12 years, but will certainly be returning much sooner for weekend breaks rather than trips across Europe and more expensive and overrated cities across the continent.
