we booked yhe waterfront tent, its big, the bed is huge and perfect, the sunsets on the balcony just amazing. the only thing missing was a heater for the bathroom. other than that every thing was perfect. the restuarant is very good, we ate the best beef stake we had the whole trip. the staff were very nice and helpfull. recomended!!!!

Unfortunately, we only stayed for one night at the Zeeloe farm but would definitely want to come back. We had a very friendly welcome and owner provided plenty of suggestions of things to do in the area (and there are a lot). She offered us a drink and sat down with us to discuss how we can best use our time. She was extremely helpful when we said that we needed to leave early in the morning to go shark diving at the coast. We stayed in one of the cabins by the lake. The cabin is very roomy and has nice very "African" interior design. The bed was very comfortable and the aircondition worked very well. The cabins look out onto a little lake. There were some kayaks nearby that we could have used on that lake. The farm main building has a very nice pool, bar and restaurant area. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to stay for dinner. There was very good dining in town though. It gets a bit loud with the animals around sunrise, but do have a look it's worth getting up for. It gets quiet after and you can sleep some more.

The room was clean and well maintained, there is free parking. It is close to the city center. Breakfast was good. Friendly staff. The only down side is that some of the rooms are on the second floor and there isn't any lift.

We were given a very modern, well equipped cabin with a balcony overlooking the dam. Unfortunately, it was too cold to sit out much but we enjoyed seeing the birds coming to and from their nests right outside the window. The only thing we found strange was the lack of privacy glass for the shower - it would not be to everyone’s taste, especially our age group!

Lovely backpackers. Great facilities and the man behind reception (sorry can't remember his name) was lovely, friendly and so helpful. They have a beautiful pool and garden area.

The place is a wonderful hideaway. Breakfast is really good, the rooms are spacious with flair, you can do many stuff around in the area. But the best thing about that place are the owners. We had the best warm welcome you can imagine and felt like home the two days we stayed! Thanks so much also for the wonderful Braai!!. Hopefully we will come back sometimes!!!

We had a very comfortable stay at Gumtree Guest house. The owners are very warm and welcoming and even gave us tips on restaurants and attractions in Oudtshoorn.

We were very pleased with our stay. For the money paid the accomodation was better than we were expecting as well - very clean & pretty specious too! The owners were also very friendly & helpful at listing places to visiy in the area. Breakfast was also one of the best we had during our trip!

Our stay was excellent. We had booked a superior room and were very surprised as to the quality of this room. We decided to have a room service meal by our private pool and this was of a high standard and rounded our holiday off to perfection. Will stay in our memories for some time and we will be back when we next visit South Africa

Lana went out of her way to get us information about the cultural events in the town, and really made us wish we could have stayed longer. She was a mine of information on where to go to and what to do, and gave excellent restaurant recommendations. And on top of this, the house is just a stone's throw from the centre. Breakfast was good, with the option of a breakfast fried by Lana's mum! The only if would be for people who have an issue with sharing a table with others: breakfast is at a large round table where other guests join when they come in. We felt sincerely welcome from the moment we arrived and it was a pity to have to leave so soon. If you ever go to Oudtshoorn, Miles is the place to be!

Stephen and Fabian made our stay so comfortable. Stephen was eager to suggest the many things we could do. But because of the limited time we had in the area, we only managed to go to the restaurant that he suggested. Didn’t know they could cook up a storm for us. If I did, I would have asked them to do so in the comfort of their place, cause breakfast was already so good! The rooms were beautifully decorated with essences of Oudtshoorn. I felt like I was in a LUXURY 5star hotel. They made me not want to leave South Africa. Hope to see you guys again!

My stay here was extremely pleasant. the room was clean and spacious. I loved the balcony and the birds that visit the garden each morning! The breakfast provided was sumptuous and homely. The host also made an effort to say hi and chat with guests everyday, giving us advice on road closures etc. The lodge is also located near many restaurants.

The B&B was great for our one night stop over. Clean with good facilities. Best breakfast I had during our 2 week stay in South Africa. 20 min walk from centre, 5 mins in a car, was easy enough to get a taxi. As good as any hotel, would recommend.

Absolutely fantastic, the rooms are quirky but very stylish, it's self catering but has all the kit you could ask for. Tea, coffee, milk provided, etc. staff are great and can give you lots of information and recommendations. Amazing value for money, they should be charging more!

On driving up the narrow drive to the guesthouse it then spreads into a Florea of beauty. Surrounded by beautiful gardens is the home of sue and Pierre our hosts. Very inviting and welcoming. Our room overlooked the swimming dam which was filled by natural water from the mountainside. Our room was very shabby chic in style and very pretty. Of you like a firm bed then this is the place for you. One fault I have is the noise of the air conditioner in the room - it kept clicking on and off by on restarting was very loud. A very pleasant stay although a little tired

We had a wonderful and comfortable relaxing stay with beautiful surroundings and friendly staff who attended to all our needs professionally. We'll recommend The Pearl any day. Only comment we have, the bathroom can do with an upgrade and the curtains in our room can do with a wash. Otherwise everything was perfect thanks.

We are two couples from UK who stayed here for one night. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very spacious and beautiful. It was lovely to walk in the grounds watching the ostrich and admiring the views. The evening meal was very good and the breakfast was amazing.The four of us had a very enjoyable evening star gazing with a very knowledgeable guy who brought along a telescope and showed us the different constellations in the southern sky. We found the staff to be very kind and welcoming and also had a chat with the owner on the Sunday morning before we left. A very good place to stay.

Disappointing felt tired needed refurbishing especially the bathrooms paper napkins covering kettle plates etc Bed was comfortable and clean. Was a farm felt like we were staying in the refurbished cow shed.

Lovely stay, Air-con was the absolute best , lovely plush carpets underfoot . Breakfast was great , promised our host we would be back for a linger longer visit

I happened to be in Oudtshoorn on by birthday and had reserved a room at the Hlangana lodge. There was a group of us and the staff overheard it was my birthday and went WAY out of their way to make it special. they were so friendly and accommodating and even treated me to a bottle of champagne on the house. The grounds and rooms are very lovely and comfortable and I particularly enjoyed the domestic cats that share the property - they also make you feel special and at home! Although just off the main road, you would never know that you had not entered a secluded oasis far away from the world. My time here was far to short at one night but in that time we enjoyed ourselves tremendously, sitting by the pool, having dinner on the patio (we brought back pizza!) and enjoying a stellar breakfast. I have to say though the highlight was the staff who are generous, humorous and warm. I would recommend no better place to stay than the Hlangana Lodge when in Oudtshoorn.

So nice place! Nice people, wonderful accommodation, very good kitchen and food! Atmosphere is really like at home!!!! 100% recommended! We have very warm memories about this place! Thank you very much!

We stayed 2 nights at this pretty ranch style property; it's quite a way out of town so peaceful. Not sure ideal for families for anything more than a night or two (too remote) but amazing location for us (views across Kleine Karoo (sp?) valley). Next door to Ostrich farm which is definitely worth visiting. We heard the caves were good also - but we ran out of time. Most amazing ostrich steak dinner and very reasonably priced but if you stayed for any length of time you'd probably want to drive into town for variety. Room slightly old fashioned in decor but large and comfortable and good aircon (not too noisy)! Pool lovely (deep and not supervised so not suitable for young children). Had place pretty much to ourselves. Staff presence very understated during day; but service for breakfast and dinner could not be faulted. Ate on decking area on verandah outside our room - really beautiful.

Owners are accommodating and very helpful. Big, high-ceiling rooms. Secure parking. We would stay here again.

Located in the centre of Oodtshorn the Queens Hotel is a delightful place to stay. A beautiful building with delightful gardens and swimming pool and an old colonial atmosphere that delighted me. The service was excellent, polite and efficient. The room was comfortable and well appointed. Would I stay again? No question Yes!

very wierd experience especially if you are newly wed and the host sits down next to you on the breakfast table to make conversation. no tv in the room (not that we needed it). and if you planning to arrive late (after 6pm) (especially if you driving from jhb), book another place otherwise you will receive a screaming rude reaction on the phone from the host

From the minute we arrived we loved this place, Louise was a great host, very helpful and great breakfast too. The room was comfy and safe..absolutely no complaints and would recommend to stay.
